When my grandmother for health reasons stopped eating red meat she stopped making this . I love picadillo , we used to eat it over white rice or with spaghetti . Making transition into a keto /paleo lifestyle and this will be a staple . This is SO delicious.
Wow me has abierto el Apetito, nunca lo había cocinado, pero ahora si voy a comprar los ingredientes. Thanks for Opening my Appetite. Soy Cubano-Americano de abuelos Gallegos, A Coruña, Spain.
So I actually went to the store this morning and got everything and just finished eating it for lunch . It was even better than I anticipated it would be . It is so savory and it is literally the best thing I have eaten in a long time . My grandmother used to make it with sofrito (blended all the vegetables she used in video except the olives ) it’s a base (for ppl reading this who don’t know ) . So this one was savory and chunky and I loved the chunkiness (from veggies ) of it . I hate to say it but this was actually better than my dear Mami Rosita’s . Thank you so much for sharing this recipe ! Many blessings
@My Secret Cuisine This looks delicious and i will like to make this for 60 people. Can you let me know how much of each ingredient i should use. Im very bad at doubling. I cook for church once a month.
What no raisins!? LOL My mother and I love cilantro, but my father was never too keen on it, so I always make it without cilantro. I'm going to add it next time. Thanks for sharing your recipe.
Other than indicating how much sasson Goya to use, you gave no measurements for the other ingredients, which makes it difficult for beginners to be able to create the savory flavor that is comida Cubano. That's a shame, because it looks delicious.
Many regions of Cuba with different ways of cooking picadillo we are Cuban and all my family members share same recepie that can be altered by adding potatoes ,corn, carrots and some will add raisings is a matter of preference Thank you for watching my video
@@mysecretcuisine I'm Cuban and I have never seen any Cuban family make picadillo like that. And I bet there isn't an authentic Cuban restaurant in all of south Florida that does either.
This is a fun dish.
I like to add raisins and a little red wine to my picadillo

@@barbie4170 will do thanks 😊
I added raisins to it. I love it with raisins. That’s how I learned how to make it in Miami back in the 80’s
I was thinking the same thing. It needs raisins!!
@@mikedonnit972 That's how I had it in Havana whenever I went there. And I think grated fresh garlic would be preferable.
Same! I love that sweet & savory flavor blend.

Why cilantro and not culantro?
Cilantro is fine too❤️
@@mysecretcuisinecould never find culantro outside of Miami. Have to grow it.
Cilantro is more traditional and have a stronger flavor

I found it after clicking on My Secret Cuisine on top of page. I wish it included the directions also
Why didn't u cook and drain the meat then add it. looked yummy until I saw that

Sorry you forgot the capers. This might be your recipe, but the original cuban picadillo does not have cilantro nor sason goya.
Just noticed she forgot the capers. I don't remember sazon goya either.
No capers or cilantro in original cuban recipe, but if you want to add it, of course you could.
