i'm changing my sexual preference to Dingwall. i still like women but i think on average i prefer average Dingwal to average woman. Not to be confused with dungus...totally different preference.
Have this pedal, very very happy with this professional tool! Works well in live situation. What I don't like it is a little bit of white noise, and no aux in.
At 1:43 it legit sounds like the bass tone of Cliff Burton’s from the Ride the Lightning album, the title song itself and the bass riff at Kirk’s solo on Creeping Death
I wish I could afford a Dingwall, but I just got an Ibanez EHB1506ms, so I’m happy. Now, I’m after a Darkglass pedal. Trying to decide between this and the microtubes ultra. Decisions, decisions 😅
Would like to know what settings you had for that last song, sounds so awesome. Or was the settings shown at 3.16 or was that just a general shot of the pedal?
Nice vid! You should always list string gauges and tunings for extended range instruments!!! It would be really helpful! It's difficult to tell by ear without having ones bass around. I'd really like to see demos in GCGCF too because it seems to offer the widest tuning range for typical modern metal. The low G and C strings can be tuned up or down if really necessary to hit F or other notes in between... Either that or G0 standard.
i'm a bass player myself and its not very often i see another bassist do shit so complicated i have to pause and roll back like...what the fuck did he just do with his thumb...how? i absolutely cannot track what he is playing and i dont know how you transition from traditional picking to slap and back that fast. most people spend 20 years trying to master one technique and this guy is barely that old and makes it look easy and sped up. if i had the audacity to even attempt this stuff, i dont know where to begin. and the tone is fucking ferocious. i need a dingwall bass so bad.
SpivelzCA Because it helps fit in with guitars in metal. That's a typical problem frequency that gets congested and muddy fast when you have all the instruments playing together. Almost every metal producer does it when recording... With tjis, you just do it on the pedal. I think the B7k already makes this cut by default. I think it's baked into the circuit already.
Also, this is just the way this gentleman in particular has his stuff dialed in. Myself and a few other bassist friends I network with all have this pedal, but all have it dialed in differently and sound significantly different from each other. It really is super versatile, as is said in the video. Can do everything from hardcore punk to jazz fusion comfortably depending on how you run it.
I have this pedal.. Save yourself the cash and get a Boss bass eq and a boss overdrive odb3 pedals, that combo sound better to my ears... Unless you like farting around for days loading patches with you laptop next to you pedals, cables everywhere and not actually playing....If it was half the price I'd say get it...
claudio barragan Lol, it's not the product, it's the people buying them. The Karnivool/Periphery-tone just seems like a go-to-thing for a ton of people at the moment. Kudos to Darkglass for catching on. My ears are a bit tired of this type of tone by now, but the Duality fuzz is amazing!
This Alpha Omega Ultra piece of junk has never distort since brand new, it just barely eq but zero distortion. I’m very unsatisfied with the brand and would never recommend your shit ass devices.
plenty of "bland 4 string masters" play 10000% better than extended range players; having a fancy instrument doesn't automatically qualify someone as a better player. plenty of "bland 4 string masters" can shred better than anyone on an extended range bass but prefer 4 strings b/c they get the job done well. also depends on the genre you're talking about. also, no need for that kind of elitist shit
Poop mouth , really ? I thought this is a serious channel, but unmoderated though. All in all not very helpful and disappointing. Spoofed channel ? Anyhow, i will try the pedal at the local music store when available.
This dude is unreal..
The combo of a Dingwall and Darkglass makes me happy
Adam Mays I agree dude. That combo is incredible
Dingwall is made here in my home town!!! haha yay! go Canada
darkglass electronics are extremely inspiring tools.. i'm always stoked when someone tells me they dig my tone as much as i'm digging it.
i'm changing my sexual preference to Dingwall. i still like women but i think on average i prefer average Dingwal to average woman. Not to be confused with dungus...totally different preference.
Go outside bro
I wish darkglass made a pedal I didn't have to sell my nuts to buy
best tone‼︎
Always loved Intervals' bass tone!

If you are getting hum use the "ground lift" button. Or if it is already on you may want to consider using a noise gate.
Widdle Ewu I mean hum when it I play with amplifier , but I don't care ,I use boss ns2 . When I play xlr way. It works well without noise.
this is a distortion you have noise it is normal

Awesome would like to see this kind of video for the B7K V2
Jacob slays.

I guess I wasn't the only that noticed 👀
Fun stuff

Is this Andrew baena’s old house?! Lol

Where can i find music from JIA?
We’re getting the final mix for our first single within the next month!

What IR was that one?
So, ok, I am Alpha Omega owner, but why nobody says nothing about the Fractal rack at the back?
Can I load up any IRs I already have and use them?
Should I buy the normal one or the ultra version?
Incredible. What tuning are you in?
whats is the name of this theme ?
AOU tones are sick and all... But c'mon, this dude's playing is awesome.
Are you able to upload your own impulses (Say Ownhammer for example) that you already have to this pedal?
Yes you can do that in the Darkglass suite.
Progbassist thank you very much! This was a must buy before, but somehow I want it even more now.
I'm a Schecter guy.. but i kinda think i want to try out a Dingwall. Jesus.
song name plz

I made the right choice getting a dingwall lol, this one is next
Black Box is from The Shape Of Colour though
How come I always see metal bassist cut 250k and some bass frequencies?

Too muddy for me.
some 'mud' is required for the bass to have any definition in a mix filled with distorted guitars, unfortunately.
The AO distortion is muddier than the B7k, but the AOU's EQ makes it intuitively versatile. Just boost that 1.5 or 3k band.

I love how this company's products makes every bass sound the same
claudio barragan Lol, it's not the product, it's the people buying them. The Karnivool/Periphery-tone just seems like a go-to-thing for a ton of people at the moment. Kudos to Darkglass for catching on. My ears are a bit tired of this type of tone by now, but the Duality fuzz is amazing!
That was nasty. But he needs proper pants.
lol, i thought he had a leg brace on

Would love to hear the pedal on a bass guitar, usually 4 strings !
plenty of "masters" use 4-string basses, no need for that kind of elitist shit
