My Buddy is coming over today with his FIRST pedal today... Yep....The ADAM...! Its going to be fun for him to learn more bass and play around with distortion. :D
@@Manu-vh8ri to be honest, i sent mine back. I use primarily fenders, but i do have an ibanez ehb1005ms as well. This pedal is amazing for the studio, however in front of an amp (specifically tube amps) it will just crush your gain stage, so what it shines for is studio application, which maybe was really where they were aiming. IMO its bad for live playing. it doesnt like pairing with pedals etc
After watching all of these videos for months, I find myself waking in the dark of the night in a cold sweat and muttering 'I need a Darkglass!' I think I want the X but this thing is starting to sway me.
Bought it last week, sounds awesome, but mine unit is buggy as hell. Anyone experienced that? When choosing preset A and rotating C switch, unit get stuck. Same when using a tuner, got two red dots after few seconds and can't do nothing. Going to email darkglass about it, but wondering if it's software or hardware issue
@lee plays bass But thanks to ADAM I have posibility to program MIDI with the rest of the band, use it as Interface, tuner, and overall awesome device. Thanks to it only thing i need is ADAM, bass, in ear system and wireless :)
Hes talking about playing with it live, but if you put the adam in front of an old tube amp, it will squash your gain channel completely because of the inherent low end baked into the clean side. I use DG pedals for live, example: AOmicon, and Vintage microtubes. If you plan on using this pedal for live applications with a tube amp you will have to completely re-think your tone to use it. btw I play fender's, though i do have an ibanez ehb1005ms, and it was pretty much the same. In all of my tube amps, i was having to run into the active channel on the amp to get enough headroom to be able to relax the low end. However, when i used it in the studio, it was fantastic. As a stand alone pedal (without an amp), it really shines. It records super well, and you can really dial in the tone you are wanting to lay down. Really imo the Adam is more of an interface for the studio than say a live pedal, but its a great investment for studio applications. If you are looking to only play live with this, DarkGlass offers way better pedals for that. Lastly, i ended up sending it back, but if i needed a standalone pedal for recording bass, in heavier music i know exactly where to turn.
Is this pedal useable as a preamp outside of metal? Or would I have to throw a Harmonic Booster pedal in front of it to get a variety of useful cleaner tones?
Can I connect this peadl to a normal amp using a unbalnced 5.5 cable? All the demos were using direct outputs with XLR cable, but I want to know how 5.5 cable will work.
Sounds like slight variations on just one sound in these first few demos. Any demos of it without a million dollar, six hundred string bass not playing metal?
Jacob Umansky is a beast
technically every human is a beast
"I don't need it I don't need it I don't need it"
"I NEEEEEED IT!"
Jacob your video was absolutely amazing! Can't wait to catch one of your show with Intervals ✌️

Thanks Jocob Umansky and Darkglass, i got mine a week now!
Best pedal decision i've made!
Anyone know how this sounds with anything other than a Dingwall?
Go check out Nate Navarro's demo he plays multiple basses

Wait, so you suggest using Darkglass with something other than a Dingwall bass? Is that even legal?
Probably should call the cops.
@@bakkhertz I did that with my B7K ultra pedal. World of difference going into the return loop
Lol. I know. I can't afford a dingwall. Lucky to have Spector Euro 5LX from 2006
Love that bass.

Great demo! Jacob has the right idea, mixing playing with feature examples. Time to go watch the Nolly video. Thanks!
This is by far the best demo for this unit. Much better than even the darkglass channel
This is the darkglass channel??
@@OllieWales I am so confused
Loved this review, very concise and effective. And amazing tones as usual
This pedal is great for more than just metal, and I feel like its underappreciated for what an insane value it is.
How did you get rid of the boomyness of the clean ? I feel it is hard to get a tighter tone with it compare to the AO photon I now use
Nice demo Jacob. LOVE your video editing!! I received my A.D.A.M. a couple weeks ago and I fricken love it. Can’t wait for my next show!
Thanks man!
The sax is also nice ☺️
Now I can't decide whether to get the ADAM for my bass, or get the Quad Cortex for my guitars and my bass .... Jacob Umansky is amazing!
I need to get an IR of the saxophone setting 😜 slamming vid Jacob

@lee plays bass If bugs will be fixes, I wouldn't change ADAM for anything else :) This + bass and it's all I need :)

And it sounds dope as hell!
Did you try updating the firmware via the Darkglass Suite?
I'm waiting it for 2 month cause dealer returned it to DG due the problems. I hope they will fix the bugs.
Shoud we expect also ADAM junior mini pedal like alpha omicron any soon?
Not this year!

Putting an amp infront of my amp. Wonder why it sounds bad.
Does anyone know where to get that stand for the pedal?
what an enormous mans

what song did Jacob play at the end of the video? the pedal soundS monstrous!
Intervals - D.O.S.E.
So what I'd like to know is when is Darkglass coming out with the 400w ADAM all tube head??? 🤔 🤣
Can anyone confirm how this pedal sounds without the post-processing for this video? Literally the raw sound?

You can run the pedal like a normal pedal to an amp. You just use normal guitar cables.
@@juanticimo Thanks!
