That pedal sounds so aggressive, with great lows and punchy mids that are all controllable with the EQ (fantastic addition and well designed). The "Growl" and "Bite" buttons are simply awesome, and get right to the point, no explanation necessary; I love it. My favorite bassist is gonna be Fieldy from Korn. I feel like this is a pedal he'd appreciate as much as I would for the aggression it offers.
Jason Newsted is definitely my all-time favorite! Because of him I started playing with pick. Other favorites are Justin Chancellor (Tool), Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) and Evan Brewer (Entheos)
Me Too Jason Newsted Was the Main Reason i picked a bass . luckily i have discovered other great bassists like tony levin , dave larue , jimmy johnson, alain caron, bryan beller, randy george , pete trewavas .........
Justin's tone is incredible. It is the best bass tone for rock music that I've ever heard imo. I love it. He uses a 2 amps, 1 dirty 1 clean and blends them. These Darkglass pedals can get you close to his tone with the blend knob.
@@matthewd6306 it also helps that justin plays a 15,000 dollar Wal bass, those things have every bit of the tone, I mean all of it...if you want that tone with out having to finance a small car's worth of bass, try these pickups...they are as close to a Wal bass that I have ever heard, and much easier on the wallet www.rautiaguitars.net/multi-coil-bass-pickups.html
My favourite bass player is Paul Barker of Ministry. No bells or whistles, just awesome lines repeated again and again until you're just flowing with it.
Great Demo! My All Time Favorite Bass player is Clifford Lee Burton, I think because he played with his soul and that connected with me on a whole different level. 1962 - forever
Sweet pedal! I want one! My favorite bassist changes week to week, I have been loving the sound of Casey Lipka of Cake lately. Simple, sounds great, and lots of groove!
The demonstration part of the pedal was phenomenal! Really really showed what all of the different adjustments will do. Excellent. Favorite bassist: Billy Gould.
Ryan Martinie through and through... when it comes to bass playing for the most part his technique and tuning scheme is quite unique and just sounds flattering to the ears even though it’s heavy metal. Glad he has a new band but would love to see him use his chops in a super group.
Robert Trujillo and Geddy Lee when I was younger, they had a awesome grindy bass sound, it always stood out for me, nowdays its Tesseract's Amos Williams, Karnivool's John Stockman and Polyphia's Clay Gober that make spicy bass tones.
my favourite bass player ever is no contest cliff burton, he is the one who made me start playing bass, when I heard his solo in kill em all album i was hooked forever on bass before I had i cheap guitar hat my dad bought me but cliff changed my life forever. RIP Cliff
Andy Rourke from the Smiths, as a bassist in a band with only one other guitarist, he opened my eyes and ears to how the bass can really fill out the sound of a group.
Great demo as always and thabk you for letting us a chance to win this ! For my favourite bassiste, hard to choose only one so I'll go with Mark Sandman, Tim Commerford and Les Claypool !
Just when I think I have a complete pedal board Darkglass do this! Bill Gould is by far my favourite and most inspirational bass player (and he is an M900 player), his lines and tone are so tasty.
Sick demo dude ! My favorite bassist is by far the rush singer/bassist i couldnt imagine what it woukd have been soubding like with all these new gears.
Thanks for this opportunity to win! My favorite bassist of all time is the one and only cliff burton. The first time I heard “For Whom The Bell Tolls” and found out the intro was the bass guitar I decided then and there its what I wanted to play!
Not sure I can pick just one. The guys that got me playing bass were Cliff Burton, Geezer, Steve Harris, Jason Newsted, Greg Christian, and Frank Bello.
I love darkglass and my favorite bass player is Jaco Pastorius, hands down. I still learn stuff from those old live performances and instructional videos
Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy may not have been the most technical bassist but he was a true inspiration to me picking up a bass and singing. Awesome sounds from that pedal I could utilize it for sure!
Amazing effects Adam! You’re awesome! My favorite bassist is flea! He has all the f**cking groove But my favorite bassist in music composition it’s Steve Harris from Iron Maiden ❤️
Great demo video! Really showcases the brutal awesomeness of this pedal. Hmm, favorite bass player is a tough one...gotta say Bobby Vega because that dude just flat out grooves.
Darklgass are just a killer tone for bass! This video are awesome, the sound just perfect ! My favorite bass player is Jason Newsted, David Ellefson, Justin Chancellor, Steve Harris and Jon Stoman of course !
Great demo Adam! This is the one i need for my band right now. Nolly (Periphery) is my favorite bassist of all-time, and i've met darkglass because of him.
My favorite old school bassist is Geddy Lee, one of the fathers of progressive rock/metal. If I were to choose between modern bassists, it would probably be between Daniel Oliver from Nothing More (just listen to Don't Stop and you'll see what I mean) and everybody's friendly neighborhood Nolly (because Nolly)
My favorite bassist is Steve Harris. Always loved Iron Maiden, but after picking up bass myself got even more respect for them especially for great bass sound of Steve Harris.
Great demo. Really shows the diversity of the AOU. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite, but some of my tops are Ryan Martinie, Entwistle, Geddy, and Burton just to name some of my major influences! Thanks for the vid!!!
Amazing demo!!! My favorite bassplayer is Pino Palladino, thanks to him I started and octave pedal and from that moment I haven't stop buying effects !!!!!
Geezer Butler for the win! He inspired all those heavy rock and metal bass players we love. Just listen to his NIB intro solo with Black Sabbath and you’ll get what I mean! And I see a strong potential in Alpha Omega Ultra in recreating his tone in modern era. 🎸
Hi, my favorite bassist is the Fieldy from Korn. Though now I think he is not so great, but his style of playing and sound was so inspiring for me when I just started to play bass.
Tim Commorford from RATM - that got me into bass with accessible but groovy and often challenging riffs. I have never looked back and still play some RATM after 10 years on bass. If I win this pedal I will make the first video of myself playing bass on youtube.
Great demo. It really gives a feel for what this pedal can do. I have to give credit to Matt Freeman from Rancid for showing me that bass doesn't have to simply repeat four notes throughout the song.
Great demo! I'd love me a distortion pedal for bass! My favourite bassist is probably Dave Hollingworth, from the band Dorje. He uses a lot of effects, I believe he also uses darkglass.
So if i had to pick one favorite, it would be ben kenny from incubus. What he does with flatwounds, a pick and distortion is just unreal soundwhise. and of corse his melody lines are superb together with mike einzigers guitar playing!
i agree, its brutal.. great demo mate. favourites are billy cox, john paul jones, cliff burton, geddy lee, les claypool, stu hamm, jaco pastorius... too many to name but it would have to be paul McCartney
My favorite bassist is Justin Chancellor. He taught me that the bass can be even more interesting and better sounding than guitar. He taught me that the bassist doesn't have to hide in the background playing the root. And he taught me about amazing distortion and good tone. I picked my Stingray because I know he used one a few times on one of Tool's albums. He's my hero.
The extra EQ-options add so much versatility to the sound of this little precious pretty thingy... i own the original alpha/omega and in my setup its an (almost) always on pedal. Since i'm totally into the modern darkglass and dingwall sounds and am a converted guitarist myself i vote for Adam Nolly Getgood without thinking about it - the way he plays and composes his bass lines fulfills what i think bass should sound like in downtuned music that is a bit on the technical/progressive side of things! Please let me get that shiny new toy or i have to buy it :( :D
Great demo! Chris Squire would be my all time favorite. He always managed to drive the tunes, in Yes, in super creative ways that didn't detract from the songs. I also think he is one of the first people who thought to themselves, "How can I brutalize people with my bass tone?"
Great demo! Darkglass pedals are always so mindblowing in their versatility. My favourite bassist is either Geddy Lee, or Troy Sanders of Mastodon. Both have been huge influences as both a bassist and vocalist.
Awesome pedal, awesome video. Would love to have one of those myself! Favorite bassist is probably Geddy Lee of Rush, the band that first got me into music, although I haven’t listened to them in a long time since I’ve gotten more into modern prog rock/metal.
Such a good demo, this thing sounds like a monster and looks amazing! My favourite bassist is Green Day's Mike Dirnt, his basslines are amazing and he's incredibly talented!
I have the Darkglass Alpha Omega and love it, only difference seems to be Ultra has light up eq and extra foot swtich. Facorite bass player...Greg Chaisson.
Ooof. Well Fieldy and Mike Dirnt got my 12 year old self wanting to play bass, but over the years Victor Wooten and Flea have also become favorites... It's an endless list honestly lol
Amazing demo and playing! My favorite bassist at the moment would have to be Nolly of Periphery. Blended distortion on bass is such a beautiful thing and I love the way it makes bass glue with distorted guitar. I love my B7k and Super Symmetry so much.
My favourite bassist is Marco Hietala from Nightwish/Tarot and many more. He is the man that got me into playing bassguitar! I love his melodic bass lines and the percussion aspect of his picking. I still try to get his amazing bass sound. =)
Don't really have an all time favorite, so many who are so good. But Les Claypool is just crazy fun. Also lately discovered Esperanza Spalding who is amazing.
Man what a nice demo and what a beast of a pedal! The only problem I'm facing now is that I can't choose between Jon Stockman and Justin Chancellor. Both bassists have such a gnarly tone and I'm definitely a fan of having a bit of dirt in your signal chain. Love that you show what the EQ is capable of, it sounds very usable and musical. Also, thanks for doing a giveaway, that's awesome!
Great demo! The tone on this pedal is amazing, I'd love to use it with my prog metal band for some seriously filthy lines. My favorite bassist(s) of all time are Victor Wooten, Chris Squire, Justin Chancellor, and Lucas Skinner.
Favorite bassist is Peter Iwers from In Flames, as a teenager I always loved the chuggy distorted grind of his bass tone. Not the fanciest player by any means but he always provided a solid foundation.
Fieldys tone is very mid scooped and overall mostly clean with a lot of treble side for the clicky sound of his.

Personal favourite? Tony Levin, the man can play anything and everything. And he has the best moustache!
Great video! I’ve been a fan of Victor for a long time now. He’s really approachable after shows too, so it’s nice getting to shake an idol’s hand.
My most loved bassist is Geddy Lee. I am also amazed with the skill of Jeff Hughell that I have known recently. This pedal is awesome:-)

The demonstration part of the pedal was phenomenal! Really really showed what all of the different adjustments will do. Excellent. Favorite bassist: Billy Gould.
Holy crap, that thing is lovely.
Steve Harris was the reason I picked up a bass, still have his influence in my playing 30 years later!

He was very creative...he's the reason I started playing bass I'd never heard any one like him.
Amos Williams is favorite of mine. The pedal sounds sick. benefits from that EQ are huge!
Just when I think I have a complete pedal board Darkglass do this!
Bill Gould is by far my favourite and most inspirational bass player (and he is an M900 player), his lines and tone are so tasty.
Love that opening tone so so much. My hard rock band needs this in our lives. Hoping to win!
My favourite is Cliff Burton. He was the first who tried some distorted stuff (with a wah I know) and it was very cool
Not sure I can pick just one. The guys that got me playing bass were Cliff Burton, Geezer, Steve Harris, Jason Newsted, Greg Christian, and Frank Bello.
Justin Chancellor was IT for me. Has a bass tone and riffs that can only come from that guy.
Warwick really helps
I am pretty sure that is not Justin Cancellor, is it?
That’s the man that made me play bass
Cool stuff! My favorite bassist is Tony Kanal (No Doubt and Dreamcar). One of the reasons I picked up the bass!
I love darkglass and my favorite bass player is Jaco Pastorius, hands down. I still learn stuff from those old live performances and instructional videos
Killer demo ! Can't figure a favorite bassist so i'll pick some my favourites : Geddy Lee, Marcus Miller and Les Claypool
Nice demo, showing what can be done. My favourite bassist was Phil Lynott. Of the living bassist I am partial to Erik Arkö these days.
I would say my favorite bassist is Thundercat. His phrasing is amazing and he's the reason I bought a 6 string bass. Truly an inspiration
Phil Lynott of Thin Lizzy may not have been the most technical bassist but he was a true inspiration to me picking up a bass and singing. Awesome sounds from that pedal I could utilize it for sure!
Great video! My favorite bassist right now is Sean Malone.
Amazing effects Adam! You’re awesome!
My favorite bassist is flea! He has all the f**cking groove
But my favorite bassist in music composition it’s Steve Harris from Iron Maiden ❤️

My all time favorite must be Flea. Not because of his sound but because of his attitude.
Greetings from Germany!
Cliff Burton, such a bassist and such a unique mind. He had so much more to give RIP
Great demo. Really shows the diversity of the AOU. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite, but some of my tops are Ryan Martinie, Entwistle, Geddy, and Burton just to name some of my major influences! Thanks for the vid!!!

Ryan Martinie (Mudvayne) - truly a phenomenal player that just inspires me to pick up my bass!

Nice demo of this amazing pedal! It's hard to pick a favorite bassist but Les Claypool is the guy who got me into bass playing.
Awesome sound! Favorite bassist has got to be Ryan Martinie. Thanks for the demo video!

Tim Commorford from RATM - that got me into bass with accessible but groovy and often challenging riffs. I have never looked back and still play some RATM after 10 years on bass. If I win this pedal I will make the first video of myself playing bass on youtube.

My favourite is definitely Sean Malone from Cynic. Craziest bassist in metal in my opinion. Perfect example of how technical skill marries creativity
Steve Di Giorgio probably. Usage of fretless bass in extreme metal seemed so crazy, but he totally nailed it.
Great looking bass by the way!
Sounds killer! My personal favourite bassists would be Tim Commerford, Adam Nolly Getgood, and John Stockman!
Awesome demo, my man. I'd like this pedal because Jon Stockman just happens to be my favourite bass player.
The perfect addition to my Boss GT-10B
