Man, where did you find this one?? What a gem! The fastest propliner ever to have flown. Wouldn't we love to see one of these monsters on the airshow circuit?
You're doing great work with these old films. Somebody has to do this or it would all be lost
holy shit! This baby is over 60 years old! how the time flies.
In the first flight.
Operators I. Lisitsky.
Now you will see the first non-stop passenger flight along the longest air route Moscow - Khabarovsk in our country.
In 8-10 hours these passengers will be in Moscow. The Tu-114 aircraft, a true airship, will transfer them to the capital! In the first flight, the plane was driven by one of the country's most experienced pilots, Pyotr Vasilievich Soldatov.
Even at an altitude of 9000 meters you can get enough sleep. On top of that, you will be fed the trice. The air liner is designed for 170 seats. During the flight, 24 times per hour the air changes.
600 minutes passed and the concrete path of the Vnukovo airport was already completed. Hello, Moscow May Day!

Looks like at the film's end the TU-114 pulled up to a train station adorned with the images of Marx and Lenin (hey, where's Stalin?) instead of an airport. Great old Soviet newsreel film, thanks for sharing!
1961 years old, have you noticed? When Khrushchev came to power (1953), everything that resembled Stalin was destroyed.
@@mrOL100 That was my point when I asked about Stalin's whereabouts!

I've never heard a Bear, but I hear they're loud. I wonder what the cabin sounded like on this. (Although I would probably be like the guy at 0:57. The drone of the props would put me right to sleep!) You also sit quite a ways off the runway compared to the Tu-95!
Tupolev the maximum dimension in planes !
Didn't know Peter Ustinov was an Aeroflot pilot too.
Was that Lenin boarding at 0:18 ? Thought he died in1922 ;-). Look at all those happy "party member" faces.
Keep diggin these gems up and I'll keep watchin.........
And probably keep complainin.
What a beautiful Soviet (not Russian) engineering piece of art!
Soviet or Russian, it was all the same country back then, Tupolev was Russain and Russia is the legal successor to the Soviet Union, whats the point of the comment? Russian engineering !!!
The engines were designed by German prisoner engineers.
@@robertm.3520no. They designed some parts[turbine for example].
And gearbox its only soviet.
must've been quite loud for the passengers sitting near the prop engines.
Is good.
At last Russian aircraft, Thank you very much!
Никита Федотов Your very welcome; feel free to search the channel, I do have more Russian aircraft vids up, including a nice vintage promo for the AN-22.
