Maybe versus the rustler to see how much alike they are but having the different handling characteristics. All the video’s are fun to watch. Thanks again 💯
It’s closer to the same class now cause the new Stampede 4x4 VXL (which is just a rebranded Hoss) comes with the Extreme Heavy-Duty upgrade kit, upping its durability quite a lot, but with the same $430 price tag.
I have owned a ton of vechiles during the past few years and currently own two brand new Mojave 6s and Big Rock 6s with the new v2 Spektrum system. Both of them have flawed esc's that Horizon does not have a fix for. Very annoying given the huge price I paid. My Maxx has heen my most reliable vehicle. During the past 10 months of owning it, only issue was a pin coming out from the rear hub. Traxxas did an outstanding job with this vechile. Very well built, drives incredibly smoothly, no surging or cogging and is as fast or even faster than many 6s vechiles. This is my favorite vechile and I have owned everything from the Scx6, to the XRT, to the 8s Kraton exb, to the Hoss *which was a good vechile) and the Maxx takes the cake. Second favoite is Arrma Talion exb which has been a good vechile. The Maxx drives like a real truck with that excellent drivetrain. I wish Traxxas would do more with 4s Velenium system in terms of creating some new vechiles because it is excellent!
I agree, after 18 months with the MAXX we still haven’t broken any arms, chassis, ESC, servos, or either front/rear differentials. After fixing the common issues with the Sledge, it’s also been a tank at the track. I’m still waiting for a track worthy BANDIT VXL 4x4.
@@redbanditracingi am waiting for a bandit 4x4 vxl, theres a rustler 4x4 and stampede 4x4 (and hoss), there needs to be the bandit to complete the OG trio but its 4x4
Oh my god chicken?! Y’all are wild! 😂 Thanks for the comparison! Maxx is a beast but I’m bought in on 3s and 6s rigs. Saves money by being able to share batteries between them. Yeah the Maxx can be ran on 3s, but you’re leaving performance on the table.
The Hoss has now been discontinued and replaced by a new Stampede 4x4 VXL that is literally just a rebranded Hoss BUT with the Extreme Heavy-Duty upgrade kit for the same $430 price point, so it’s a lot more competitive against the Maxx now Also, the GTR shocks would probably work better if they were tuned properly. If I remember correctly, you just took these from a stock Slash 4x4 Ultimate, meaning they’ve got 30wt oil and black-rate springs. They’d fare better with thicker oil and probably stiffer springs. I’ve got some GTRs ordered for mine and I’m getting 40wt oil and pink-rare springs. Might end up increasing the viscosity to 50wt. I’ll have to see how it lands with the 40wt
@@redbanditracing Technically it hasn’t. The Hoss still exists, it’s just rebranded and a lot stronger. I like to call the new Stamorde 4x4 VXL the Hossipede. If you haven’t already, you should do a video where the GTR shocks have been tuned with thicker oil and stiffer springs, to see how it handles landings after that
I’d say anywhere between 30+ min. But there are a lot of variables such as grass, concrete, dirt, how hard your running, outside temperature. Running on a dirt track, easily 30+min
We did something similar, bed liner spray with some sand. It gave it some very nice grip which helped a lot. Flexseal I imagine would work great also, thank you.
Love the VS content, it takes a lot for me to subscribe to RC channels these days for obvious reasons, A lot of them are so full of 💩 lol especially a lot of the sponsored channels that get free RC's to review, I like channels that keep it real, I can't stand channels that hide things and only show perfect landings etc, Nobody has perfect landings every single time I don't care what nobody says, not even the pros lol, I wouldn't say I was ever a pro but between 2000 - 2004 I won over 30 trophies in short course off road 2wd and my first year racing dirt oval I won the 2003 dirt oval points championship and placed 7th in the nationals, it was almost 300 entries 2 day event that turned into 3 days at Cooper's RC in Calonds VA, fastest dirt oval on the east coast, I got to race Tony Stewart there a couple times, I asked him to sign my truck body and he completely ignored me and he was a complete snob to everybody, that was a BIG BIG mistake because at the time he didn't know I was his biggest competition, lol, I spun him out and put him into the wall every chance I got and so did all my buddies, He was whining like a little biotch, 🤣😂 Don't get me wrong I would've never done that if he wouldn't had been such an snob to everybody..... Sorry for the long comment, I subscribed, keep on keeping it real guys, again love the content, keep it coming 👍🏻✌🏻

Hoss for tricks Maxx for durability
Dam!!! The HOSS got dragged like a rag doll then KTFO 😂🤣
The HOSS is a nice RC, but it’s not in the same class as the MAXX. What HOSS versus does everyone wanna see next?
Maybe versus the rustler to see how much alike they are but having the different handling characteristics. All the video’s are fun to watch. Thanks again 💯

Just ordered a Hoss last week and widemaxx this morning haha! Couldn’t resist
Would enjoy owning both they are really cool Rc’s. Thanks 4 the comparison
Thank you for watching
Great comparison! The Hoss is actually $430 instead of $460, but both look very beefy. I own a hoss and hoping to get a Maxx soon!

Cool video! Just subbed👍
The new stampede has the ehd kit and has special thick drive shafts.

We’ve mentioned a few times he should up the weight in the shocks. When the Stampede BL-2S was released we knew the HOSS was being removed.

LOL. Great video.
What's the runtime of the Maxx with 6700mah?
I’d say anywhere between 30+ min. But there are a lot of variables such as grass, concrete, dirt, how hard your running, outside temperature. Running on a dirt track, easily 30+min
FlexSeal spray then some fine sand before it dries. On the ramp
We did something similar, bed liner spray with some sand. It gave it some very nice grip which helped a lot. Flexseal I imagine would work great also, thank you.
I need one of those ramps lol
They do a great job, and you can buy longer arms for them.
I feel like when you were racing them around the bases the hoss’s Tsm was set too high because of how much the wheels were wobbling
TSM is always set as low as possible to help with traction but not effect steering. The HOSS weight distribution isn’t the best.
What springs and weight shock oil? Should have my gtr shocks soon
For the Maxx or HOSS? The HOSS, he left the oil at 30W but I’d go up to maybe 50W (stock springs).
@@redbanditracing Thanks! It's for the Hoss GTR shocks with the Black GTR springs.
The Hoss can drift very very well on snow but it take lots of time
