I’m just gonna throw this out there. I’ve watched a few of your videos now, and I can definitely tell that you guys are improving you video flow, and just over all I see your guys improvement over your older videos…. So I guess I’ll subscribe now lol, thanks guys
I had my Maxx for about a month now and I haven't had any problems but with the tire falling off and little bit of squeaking in the steering but it doesn't effect the car. Overall it's been great to me. And it's a very strong rc car
After you clean it, spray it down with WD40 (lightly), and blow the excess off. Switch out the wheel nuts either 17mm hexes. If you need the part info let me know.
I like a lot what you did with the body’s. There is I kind of protection strip around the edges of the body? What is this and how did you install that? Thanx and have a nice Xmas
I’ve also got a maxx v2 and I put e-revo tires on it, and it just blows my mind! It goes at least 6 miles an hour faster than the stock sledgehammers. And whenever I hit jumps with it, it just soaks up the ground, and I can’t hear much chassis slap. so I would definitely try that if you haven’t already.
@@redbanditracing I totally understand the possibility of those axles breaking, but I will say my friend has had those tires on there for about a year now and hasn’t had any issues still. I would check is the heat of the motor once in a while. Mine doesn’t get hot, but I asked Traxxas and they said to keep that in mind. But I would love to see a video of you guys trying them out!!!!
I just recently blew my rear diff cover, shock tower I completely pulled the threads and screws out of where it goes to the diff on my stampede bl2s 4x4 and I bent the hell out of the gtf shock rod so I’ve a slew of upgrades coming now from cobra it’s a great truck but I send mine over 10ft in the air regularly. The very first thing I broke was the plastic servo gears but I rebuilt it with metal gears and haven’t had a problem with the servo since
When they went from the HOSS to the Stampede BL-2S I’ve been seeing differentials go out a lot. Double check the mesh between the ring and pinion, something changed from the HOSS. Nice upgrades!
I like them both I have them both The max V1 with widemaxx kit on it have not broken anything but some axles The stampede was a brushed turned into a VXL and upgraded the axle to the heavy duty axles I have not got this extreme heavy duty ones yet I did put those on my slash 4x4 Great video guys have a great one
Hey RBR nice videos and good content. I just subscribed want to get back into RC. Questions what are the ramps you are using and do you have any suggestions on pamps to buy for RC? Thanks and have a great day. ⭐️⭐️🇺🇸⭐️⭐️
Ultra shock mod that’s worked for a lot of years for the shock caps it to pull zip ties around the caps HARD. It helps keep that cap held to the threads tighter. As for the shafts bending- well I don’t jump over 4ft and am a good driver lol. No real catastrophic wrecks.
Im trying to decide between the maxx v2 or the stampede 4x4 vxl im going from nihm battery to goingbto try a learn to use lipo which one would you recommend
I prefer small and playful way more than these big beasts. I had an upgraded maxx, and it wasn't nearly as fun as the old crappy stampedes I have haha.
for someone that thinking about getting into RC's which car do you recommend them getting ? oh and that's weird I'm wearing the same shirt that you were in this video LOL
Well you’re on the right track “yeah no” haha. The Rustler 4x4 VXL is a great RC, MAXX is also great. The MAXX you’ll be replacing very few parts, and you can start out running it on 3s till you get the hang of it.
@@redbanditracing How can one love RC and not like these straight forward, clear, and concise videos? You’re crushing it. I’d love to see a new version Rustler VXL vs Rustler Ultimate. I own a Hoss and Slash VXL. I’m looking to get an Maxx someday.
@@redbanditracingon my maxx i run the traxxas belted tires and they work way better because tje stock kept on blowing off for me so you could try those to
Had some sets of trenchers done the same. I was talking with them and was like was it a bad batch and got the same was probably something in the ground that caused the split. I believe it's went quantity over quality now and the customer service has taken a dip as well
I would definitely recommend one of the rustler or stampede platforms. They are great reliable cars that can be upgraded to very high performance levels.
Belted belted belted. The maxx needs belt tires. Ive bought badland tires 10 years ago for the e revo. I blew one of those. With today's high powered rc's a Belted tire is almost mandatory for bashing.
“We are gonna keep going until that tire blows off the car” haha I love it man way to be a gamer out there. These guys are my kinda guys lol

Sounds interesting. We’ll definitely try it! Only worry for us is the extra weight of the tires could snap the axles.

Thank you! Freshpark makes a lot of different ramps, but they are not cheap. It’s cheaper to make one to be honest.
@@redbanditracing Thanks for getting back to me!

Both are great, you won’t regret either. The new Stampede is very fun, fast, and easy to control. The MAXX is a beast, you won’t break it very often.
What wheels/tires are on the maxx?
They are Sledgehammers, same tires the truck came with. We tried ProLine but they kept blowing out, probably because of the compound.
The original Stampede! 4x4 Is my favorite rc truck maxx too heavy
I still wanna get the original Stampede 4X4 VXL. Love that platform also
I prefer small and playful way more than these big beasts. I had an upgraded maxx, and it wasn't nearly as fun as the old crappy stampedes I have haha.
Agreed, I love driving the Gorgon, and the Stampede 2WD a lot. Sometimes the simple RC’s are the most enjoyable.
Great vid, unlike the boss and the new stampede 4x4 vxl the bl2s does not have a center differential this would help spair the axles
Stay tuned up, it’s coming!

Arrma Dboots LP tire is the best for Maxx.. but not sure about rubbing without any extender
Maybe we will try them on the MAXX now, thank you.

Poke like 6 holes in the center for the water to vent out
All you need to vent tires is a small slit in two spots of the tread 180° from each other.
Maxx no doubt. stampede is okay I would like it better it had 17 mm hex wheels
That was water man. You got water in your tire. My old prolines did that too when they spun with water
The tires that were water damaged were all swapped out. These tires were brand new
What is around the body?
Body armor
@@redbanditracing is it a trim? And could you share a link or a how to, looks good.

Yes and no, depends on what you’re doing. I personally don’t like belted for jumping the ramps, but belted is the way to go for everything else.
Bought the stampede 4x4 vxl 10 years ago and its not a good RC car tbh. Those axles where breaking after 5 minutes bashing with 3s lipos.
Most RC cars when put on 3s will have issues especially if they have plastic axles. With the Extreme HD axles they last awhile.
