You can’t go wrong with either one. I have the Rustler VXL 4X4, 8S X-MAXX & just got a Sledge. These are all KILLER R/C trucks and kick azz right out of the box, yet they all have things that in my opinion that should eventually be upgraded as money allows. The Sledge has no front bumper, an ROM bumper is a cheap and wide mod. Both the X-MAXX & Sledge should have RPM rear hub carriers and hinge pins (M2C makes the pins too) that is a very affordable upgrade and is not difficult to do yourself. On the Rustler, i think the chassis brace kit is a smart upgrade if you plan on big air jumps. I always tell customers, go enjoy the vehicle, talk to other people and see what upgrades they made and what they like or dislike about them. ✌🏼🏁
I'm not at all into RC at the moment, but I'm thinking about revisiting my youth and getting a current model to see first-hand how much things have improved since I was a kid. This video is an excellent resource, as it defines so clearly the differences between these models. That's very useful info to a person who's about to drop a bunch of hundreds of dollars on something like this. Good job.
Thanks for the video! After buying my rustler, wanted something different with the same amount of fun! Watched your video and bought myself a hoss as well and it’s awsome! Tons of torque, great for heavy off-road terrain
One thing I want to say about the rustler is it doesn’t need any upgrades but if you’re willing to spend some more money you can build it for off road bashing/jumps with bigger wheels and shocks leave it like it is too ride everywhere or even make it a super fun and fast parking lot basher
For me Rustler for sure. I've 2 of them. The perfect car for speed and offroad as well. With sledgehammer tyres its amazing to drive and to make backflips.
I have a Slash VXL that I converted into the Hoss, It has the same Motor and Tires as the Rustler, chassis and body from the Hoss and a HD slipper clutch with sway bars. Really liking it, somewhat unique.
Just got into RC cars and I’m in my 40’s. I found your videos and you have become my favorite rc RUclipsr. Thanks! I think my first big boy truck will be the Hoss. I currently have the 1/16 Summit and love it! We have an acre with lots of great rocks, grass and elevation changes. It’s perfect for making different short courses!
As a beginer I bought the HOSS a couple months ago and I find that machine to be very frickin fun. Out of all the videos I seen on the HOSS, it seems to me to be more of a stunt RC. Thanks for the great video, cheers.
btw i have a trick as a rustler 4x4 vxl owner ok so all you need to do is disattach the back part of the shel first then grab the front and then pull Also just line up the shel in the front push it down and forward and its in after that put the back part on
I got the Hoss about a couple of weeks ago. The thing rips. I did wreck the servo in the first 10 minutes. I put in the metal gears in the servo and haven't had any issues.
Thanks for the video I have 2 rustler 4x4 vxl and I love them. If you want a good wheelie bar for the rustler get the rpm adapter 80962 and the traxxas wheelie 3678 and you a much stronger and adjustable wheelie bar. I have them on both of mine and they are amazing.

Anyway there's no way I'll ever be able to drive as good as what I see you do…I have a rustler coming in a few days I need all the handling help I can get. And she won't be doing any major jumping. So I will just be very casual and hope to have some fun. Man I can't believe your driving skills
I bought my rustler 4x4 vxl about 5 weeks ago and have had a few minor problems. After a week I had to replace rear driveshafts and after week 4 the front ones. Just too much torque on the plastic universals. I have replaced them with steel drive shafts at $80 a pair(well worth it). At week 3 front bearing in the motor fell apart but ceramic replacements were only like $10. I am ordering the big bore shocks. This is my second RC and I am not a pro so the rustler has impressed me a lot, it really takes a beating. Also I don’t launch it so hitting jumps and learning to control in air is really easy. All in all very happy with my decision. Next purchase is 4x4 team club buggy!

Great video. Very thorough testing. I only watched this because my daughter wanted my opinion on which RC car she should get. Your a very competent enthusiast. Thanks for your work.
Getting a hoss I’m immediately ordering some aftermarket spools I found traxxas doesn’t offer spools for it but it’s the same diffs and slash 4x4 and rustler 4x4 front rear spools and pro line demolishers should make it good to go
Thanks for the video!Afther seeing this I put the rustler on my Christmas wish and this thing looks Awesome!! This looks like sooo much fun and I’m only 10,again Thank you soo much for sharing this video to us and everyone,I read the comments and everyone enjoyed and had so much fun.THANK YOU❤1 month later…Hi,it is Christmas and I GOT THE RUSTLER.The first day I got it on Christmas it was a blast it’s so big and heavy and it’s so crazy that this thing in just so much fun and I took it to a park and it was awesome! Thank you making this video ❤(Merry Christmas)
I’ve got the rustler (both the brushed 2wd and the 4x4 vxl) and love them! Personally, I can relate to the rustler being “easier” to drive based on what I see of the Hoss. That having been said, for a newbie, the 3S lipo makes the rustler into a beast! It’s more manageable on 2S for beginners (myself included). ;) Also, and this is my own opinion, I really prefer the look of the rustler better, it looks less like a truck. ;)
I would love to get a Hoss. I have the Rustler. I'm amazed at how you can beat the snot out of it and the parts hold up. First upgrade I did was aluminum shocks because the plastic ones popped their tops so easily (after tumbling, not even going over a jump). I also have the MIP driveshafts front and back because I got tired of breaking the plastic ones. Also have RPM lower control arms.
This question is open to anyone. I also own the Rustler 4x4 VXL. We chose the Rustler over the HOSS primary because we intend to race them on a track not bash them. But I have an issue, I’ve installed the Sledgehammer Tires on my Rustler and have broken a front axle. I was told even though Traxxas recommended these tires they could be too large. But if you look at the specs of both these RC cars they are almost identical.
@@thebandit188 if you get the MIP drive shafts, you won't break them. I'm running larger tires on my Rustler. What you will break is the hex adapters. They split in half right where the grub screw is threaded in. If you go with the MIP shafts, order extras of the hex adapters. You can buy them separately, I believe two in a package
I'll still go for the Rustler. Overall it just looks better and lower for racing. Less roll over when cornering. And if you want to backflip easily with the Rustler 4x4 you all but need to change the tires. Traxxas released the sledgehammer before the Hoss release and put it on the the Rustler 4x4. But yes out of the Box you got more powerful system basically 4S system with a quick esc swap. But to me the Rustler 4x4 looks better. Try getting a HOSS TO 100MPH
So, you'd take the rustler over the hoss just because of the looks and having slightly better handling? I'm sorry, but, that's kinda stupid. The hoss has several advantages over the rustler like having a better body (more durable, doesn't pop off), better wheelie bar, better motor, esc fan, steel spur gear, center diff, better tires, ect. I honestly prefer the looks of the hoss. The only advantages to the rustler is the lcg chassis and lower price tag. Once you change the tires on the rustler it will be more expensive than a hoss. Might as well just buy the hoss. The rustler really has no reason to exist anymore along with the stampede 4x4.
rustler you gotta change the drivelines and dogbones out for metal, servo for something that doesn't lag and upgrade to heavy duty metal shaft and body shocks. Instantly triples the rustler vxl's durability.
Gotta say, I love this Hoss. It came with a bad receiver and I did break the front left arm but to be fair, I hit something that would have broken every arm on every RC. I have since put on stronger arms. No issues since. I have owned two 6s Arrma Tyhoons including the new TLR as well as the Talion BLX, Slash VXL, BigRock Redcat Kaiju and Redcat Kaiju EXT and out of all them, the HOSS is my favorite for some reason. Just a really fun and capable truck.
Just got back into rc cars/trucks recently after a 30 year hiatus. Rustler 4x4 vxl can do everything the hoss can. It can actually do it all better in my opinion. One key I found is if using the traxxas link and app or multifunction dial set for tsm on transmitter. You can unleash the raw power from the rustler or dial it in (add more tsm control) for smoother control in whatever you're doing. I'm more on the heavy and uncontrolled side of the throttle, but tsm dialed in makes a difference. Yes, I know old video, but I just ran across it today. Not sure how your tsm control was set during testing but it does make a huge difference on these cars
Don't get me wrong, these are both great RCs but in my opinion I think the Maxx is a better buy even though you'll have to shell out more money for the mandatory upgrades.
Try putting the sledgehammer tires on the Rustler! It makes the rustler more aggressive for wheelies and flips. You just have to watch out for overheating.
I bought the rustler for my wife she loves the way it turns and handles compared to her cheetah has horrible turning radius I had to upgrade the shocks on hers it raised the car up a little for more ground clearance the granddaughter jumped it off my ramp and broke the drive shaft that's all that broke on it they are very happy with the car if anyone has any ideas for upgrades on the driveshafts to metal please let me know what you used thanks for your time and great video
A lot of your air tricks are because the hoss has a higher CG, not necessarily because of torque. With a high CG, the wheels have more leverage over the center of mass.
High cg has got nothing to do with it, it's purely because of larger tires creating more gyro effect or centrifugal force to rotate the vehicle, and secondary being the more torque the motor has to spin the tires quicker creates more rotation.
@@romper4444 they are applying those forces to a fulcrum. That fulcrum is the cg. This highschool physics lessons was brought to you by the letters "G E T A L I F and E"
I really thought the rustler would make it further because it might be lighter with smaller tires but the hoss winning was a pleasant surprise. You said that you burned out the servo on Rustler, well recently I saw a video on RUclips about there being a fuse inside the 2075 servo, maybe the fuse burned and you can just solder a wire there to fix it. Great Video as always by the way. Love your channel and the content you make.
Thanks! Yeah I thought the Rustler would go farther because it’s smaller the the drag in the air would slow the hoss down. I got a new Servo. It’s no biggie.
Great challenge putting the Ruslter against the Hoss! I want to get one or the other but after watching your video the best solution might be to get them both ....lol love your contribution to rc keep up the fine work. Brian Turpin
@@DUNGSTA hey I got the hoss its so fun! Does wheelies , backflips and bunny hops with little effort! Immediately I needed to upgrade hex hubs to aluminium the plastic ones stripped out. I love the hoss its a slash on steroids
you have a much better rustler then me. Mine never did wheelies. I have the newer rustler. It is even faster on 3s. So i got a maxx motor and put it on my rustler.
How about the center differential vs the slipper clutch? The Hoss comes with the $60 center differential installed already. Just for that, I would go with the Hoss since I prefer center diffs since they have been less problematic for me and can be tuned with different weight oils. The wheels on the Hoss are better too.
I have a brushless 2wd rustler... I think its time for an upgrade. I'm leaning towards the Hoss since all I mainly do is run through grass and hit jumps. Awesome Video!
So much great Info on Both cars, and thanks for real honest thoughts you have in both cars . This will be my first car and I’m gona get the rustler. Keep those vids coming. Thumbs up all!
Man this is a perfect video comparison for me! I was looking at the new rustler and stampede (which is basically a Hoss re-release) and trying to figure out which one to get. The Rustler looks like it's great for some mild stunts and hooning around, but I have a 2wd slash and that thing is a hoon king for me, so the new stampede 4x4 is the way I'll go after watching this. I want to do some stunts!
I love my Hoss! You mentioned out of the box upgrades, factor in needing new upgraded driveshafts and replacements on the ready. Tires are so aggressive, so torquy, no slip clutch, so fast, driveshafts are first to go.
Outsourced RC thats so strange, i break them just from doing a doughnut in reverse. It also happens when I use self right. Even with steel drive shafts of multiple different kinds.
@@detagenxx2300 I think you are probably hitting the ground with power to the wheels too often. That is normally what breaks my drive shafts. Its a hard habit to break.
I love my rustler, I don’t have a hoss but I have the sledge hammer tires for my rustler, I love both tires, I like the stock tires more because it stays planted better, I run a motor fan and the 20 t pinion on it, so it is pretty responsive in the air, but that being said, the sledgehammer tires make it do like 20 backflips in like a 10 foot jump, that is my speech.
Sledgehammer + 20t? That must be a Monster Cooler on that Stock Motor. I get alot of heat with 17t in Offroad with stock tires and 2 fans on that motor.
@@Enforcers10 simple physics. Bigger the tires more stress in the drivetrain. I broke the upgraded axles of the rustler on my rustler 4x4 vxl was only good at running on pavement short grass it can run yes but after a week or so the axles would stretch so bad on the u joins and eventually snap out.yes i ran daily at that time. Now the hoss has bigger tires. The axles will receive a lot more stress. More mass to spin. Wheelies are really the torture test for axles all of the massive stress go to the rear wheels supporting the weight of the truck. Sure the hoss has a balance because its center of gravity is higher than the rustler so its axles wont suffer too much more.
I bought Rustler 4x4 vxl and the Hoss 4x4 vxl and i love them both, i love take my Rustler for speed runs and take my Hoss for the rough job... Can't live without both of them haha But I put the center diff like the Hoss on my Rustler 4x4 vxl. No more clutch on my Rustler is a lot better :)
At first I liked the quick body design by Traxxas but the more I drive the more I like body clips the Traxxas body's always needing fixing while driving gets annoying a good review ATM would be the rustler vs the arrma vorteks 👍 hope dinner was good 😜✌️
Idk I guess it differs depending on your traxxas car but my e revo body is kickass. It never pops off (unlike some models) no cracks or tears after almost a year of good ramp bashing and the quick on-off is so nice
@@nicholasgray5485 Picked up the Arrma Big Rock over the weekend, liking it so far. Also there is a new Arrma Vorteks releasing soon, check that out as well.
Great video I just got the HOSS on Black and Red newly released body color but do own the green & blue body as well I purchased the 3-cell battery 4000 mAh 40+mph on skill level 4 it’s on the fun zone would recommend. It’s good to check on the box how fast you want to go? On your battery selection from FUN ZONE to TOP SPEED ZONE more speed more chances of breaking things on your RC and also depends on how skilled u are to maneuver it at top speed.
I bought my 6 year old boy the brushed stampede 4x4, he drives it great. We have rocks and hills and some flat land. I may go with the hoss to due so both of us will have monster trucks. We may go to a track in the future. Any upgrades needed on either? Thank you this was the best video I have seen. I subscribed!
Thanks! I don’t think the Hoss needs any upgrades. The shocks would probably be the only thing if I were to upgrade anything. It’s a pretty solid truck as long as you are not doing hundreds of ollies like I do. The Stampede is not going to be able to tear itself apart with a brushed motor so I may need nothing at all. Maybe drive shafts if I had to guess.
Check out the Traxxas video on how to do stunts with your rc. They actually show how to do that corkscrew. I've tried it myself with a couple of RCs and it is really tricky to get it right.
You should try Gorilla tape on the inside of the bodies to protect them. I tried the drywall tape and shoo goo but it didn’t last. The Gorilla tape works amazing and is so easy to put on compared to shoo goo.
Absolutely. Rustler 4x4 with Sledgehammers is basically a LCG Hoss with a sleeker body and higher top speed. With an upgraded ESC, it could do standing double backflips.
Another great video. For me, I pick the car that is best suited to the terrain that I have, which means monster trucks or truggys, Have you got a Stampede? I know it's old but they are still the most popular 1/10th monster truck, a comparison between that and the Hoss would be great to see.
Ok unrelated question here So I bought a new Xmaxx 2 1/2 months ago. I’ve run it maybe 7-8 times on a huge open grass field only. Absolutely not one jump. Not a mark on it and never ever abused. Went to use it after letting it sit for 2 weeks and the servo is gone. I called Traxxas from the field and put the phone near it so the Tech could here it & he’s the one who told me it’s gone. Evidently this happens to a lot if not all Xmaxx’s. I’m looking at a recommendation on which servo I should buy that won’t let me down. Not hearing good things about the upgraded metal one Traxxas sells either. Traxxas tech I just talked to yesterday kind of said these are toys and what should I expect. I said Mr. Jenkins, R&D and the Engineering Departments probably don’t share his views. New Tmaxx slipper clutches are also defective. Mine disintegrated on me when I was breaking it in & that Tech said same thing happened to him on his new Tmaxx and Revo What’s going on with Traxxas??? Bought my first Tmaxx way back in 1989/90 & I have 7 Traxxas vehicles so I am a Traxxas guy Thanks A Subscriber
I can’t help you with the Servo. I’m still running the stock Servo. I think it may not actually be Traxxas, but who actually builds the components they use. I have very few issues out of my Traxxas RCs
We got the Hoss based on your videos. Unfortunately the center diff got ruined on the second run. I ordered the new aluminum center diff and am hoping for better luck. Before the issue , it was crazy fun. Just hoping it holds up. I've also ordered the driveshafts and stiffer springs (Tekno RC) plus GTR shocks . And based on Razer RC and others recommendations I purchased the metal wheel hex as well.
The Hoss has a center diff, it's not direct drive. I have this part installed in my Rustler and am very glad I ditched the slipper. Comes with 1m wt fluid but you can tune this to mitigate wheeleing out of control. Try 500k in the center. Also 200k wt in front and rear diffs prevents the power fade to the inside wheel in turns. But! Now it's easier to traction roll. Now if I could just stop breaking axles 🧐
Ohh and I wanted to add that flipping the wheelie bar and bumper upsidedown fixes the body crushing on the Rustler. Puts it at a better angle too. $0 mod.

rustler you gotta change the drivelines and dogbones out for metal, servo for something that doesn't lag and upgrade to heavy duty metal shaft and body shocks.
Honestly traxxas is just really good
Just got back into rc cars/trucks recently after a 30 year hiatus.
Oh mine is the rustler 4x4 ultimate with all the TSM stuff On it The brushless motor everything
Don't get me wrong, these are both great RCs but in my opinion I think the Maxx is a better buy even though you'll have to shell out more money for the mandatory upgrades.
I have rustler 4x4 with a hobby wing esc and 3450kv motor and my gearing is a 17 tooth pinion and 50 tooth spur and it's super fast on 3s
I love watching your channel.
Try putting the sledgehammer tires on the Rustler! It makes the rustler more aggressive for wheelies and flips. You just have to watch out for overheating.
Might as well get the hoss?
Sweet video brother, I just picked up the Hoss last week… I want to come over and bash with ya!
I dont have either one they both look so fun im saving up so hopefully soon ill get to try
They are both fun, but I like the hoss better.
It’s taking me forever to watch the video. Really enjoying it but just can’t find the time sit back and enjoy what’s going on.
I know that feeling.
Great video, thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to see!
You should do a video on the influence of metal parts over plastic
Love your knowledge, perfect explaining everything, amazing video help me with all my questions BIG BIG THANKS 👍👍👍
You are welcome!
This highschool physics lessons was brought to you by the letters "G E T A L I F and E"
very cool video waiting on my hoss but will eventualy get all traxxes models i have slash 4x4 vxl and love it
After the speed jumps you was breathing like you was doing the speed jumps lol🤣 love the video
No mods are needed to put the hoss wheelie bar on the rustler. I work in a traxxas hobby shop and i have that truck,,, bolts right on
Get the stampede 4x4 wheelie bar mount then put a stampede wheelie bar
AWESOME DRIVING. 😃👍. AWESOME REVIEW …. 🤔STILL TOUGH DECISION 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙
Thanks! I go with the Hoss.
Great job man, I got both, honestly the Hoss is $10.00 better lol, keep them RC'S out of that poison ivy!!
great video thanks i just ordered the hoss cant wait
Its a great RC! You are going to love it!
I’d be tempted to try the Hoss motor in the Rustler 4x4.
I know you're doing a stock comparison but if you tried drywall tape and Shoe Goo it might make your body's last 10 times longer
I have that on bodies. I have hero bodies for the videos for everything other than my XMaxx
Great challenge putting the Ruslter against the Hoss! I want to get one or the other but after watching your video the best solution might be to get them both ....lol love your contribution to rc keep up the fine work.
Brian Turpin
You might just have to do that! Then you have a back up if one breaks
Which one did you get.
@@DUNGSTA hey I got the hoss its so fun! Does wheelies , backflips and bunny hops with little effort!
Immediately I needed to upgrade hex hubs to aluminium the plastic ones stripped out. I love the hoss its a slash on steroids
@@brianturpin371 should I get the hoss or new Maxx?
love the hoss.
you have a much better rustler then me.
I like the diff over the slipper.
I tend to not break drive shafts unless I’m doing ollies
Outsourced RC thats so strange, i break them just from doing a doughnut in reverse. It also happens when I use self right. Even with steel drive shafts of multiple different kinds.
@@detagenxx2300 I think you are probably hitting the ground with power to the wheels too often. That is normally what breaks my drive shafts. Its a hard habit to break.
@@outsourcedrc just run a lose slipper if you keep breaking them, truck wont wheelie as much but you will save money right?
The hoss has a center differential which is much better than a slipper clutch.
Alo deosn't alst long i heard from quite a few peoples that if you jumping and really climbing with it... it breaks
I love them both
I run 50c batteries and it corrects in the air a lot better than 25c batteries
I love my rustler, I don’t have a hoss but I have the sledge hammer tires for my rustler, I love both tires, I like the stock tires more because it stays planted better, I run a motor fan and the 20 t pinion on it, so it is pretty responsive in the air, but that being said, the sledgehammer tires make it do like 20 backflips in like a 10 foot jump, that is my speech.
How many driveshafts u broke?
Sledgehammer + 20t? That must be a Monster Cooler on that Stock Motor. I get alot of heat with 17t in Offroad with stock tires and 2 fans on that motor.
@@EXTREMERC416 Well Hoss and Rustler Share the Shafts. So the Tires should not be a Problem with the extra heavy duty onces (trx6852a and trx6851a)
@@Enforcers10 simple physics.
Bigger the tires the more load your going to have on your drivetrain
I bought Rustler 4x4 vxl and the Hoss 4x4 vxl and i love them both, i love take my Rustler for speed runs and take my Hoss for the rough job... Can't live without both of them haha
But I put the center diff like the Hoss on my Rustler 4x4 vxl. No more clutch on my Rustler is a lot better :)
I use my rc's only for speed runs saves me money on parts and labour even though bashing looks like fun
At first I liked the quick body design by Traxxas but the more I drive the more I like body clips the Traxxas body's always needing fixing while driving gets annoying a good review ATM would be the rustler vs the arrma vorteks 👍 hope dinner was good 😜✌️
Dinner was fantastic!
Idk I guess it differs depending on your traxxas car but my e revo body is kickass. It never pops off (unlike some models) no cracks or tears after almost a year of good ramp bashing and the quick on-off is so nice
thanks for all the vids u been doing
What he forgot to mention is the wrestler if it flips over there's buttons you can push to make it flip the backup tree tractable
Stuck between these 2 rigs and the Maxx. Can't decide which would be best. Haven't had a quality RC car /truck in 15yrs I would guess.
I think the Hoss would be my choice. Maybe the Maxx.
Love my rustler, don't have a Hoss, would've gone that route if it was out a year ago.
Have both both great built from extra parts both have 3670 motors
Main thing I would rec is X01 diff upgrade 3s all day no problems
I like the rustler better myself i prefer the 2wd over the 4X4 both hella fun I'm sure! Hoss seems like a bigger stampede
Great video, loving ur place and house :D
Deciding between these two and the Arrma Big Rock...
Same exact situation Haha let me know what you decide
Go traxxas if you want lots of hop ups. Go arrma if you want to keep it stock and just beat on it.
@@nicholasgray5485 Picked up the Arrma Big Rock over the weekend, liking it so far. Also there is a new Arrma Vorteks releasing soon, check that out as well.
Just a note: The Rustler would be much easier to control on a 2S Lipo rather than a 3S.
Good video! Keep up the good work bro.
You have my dream yard lol
Could be interesting with a How to trick video. That backwards screw backflip? Was pretty cool watching in slow mo!👍
Check out the Traxxas video on how to do stunts with your rc. They actually show how to do that corkscrew. I've tried it myself with a couple of RCs and it is really tricky to get it right.
Oh, look what I found.
ruclips.net/video/ODVFwEfiiiA/видео.html
@@outsourcedrc oh! Haha! Awesome! 😂
I was thinking about buying the hoss/stampede but as a new driver I may consider the rustler instead based on your drivability comments.
Great video!
Get the vortek 4x4 anc compare it to the rustler. Its the hot talking point atm
I'm interested in seeing that comparison.
As soon as it comes out
You should try Gorilla tape on the inside of the bodies to protect them. I tried the drywall tape and shoo goo but it didn’t last. The Gorilla tape works amazing and is so easy to put on compared to shoo goo.
I've experimented with this, and truck bed liner works great too. Keeps the body light, and lets it flex more.
I suspect that rational mass is more of a factor than the power difference here. Swap the wheels over and test it. I'd be keen to see the difference.
I have a 2wd Stampede. I don’t have the 4x4
@@outsourcedrc Hoss vs Maxx
Ok unrelated question here
So I bought a new Xmaxx 2 1/2 months ago.
I’ve run it maybe 7-8 times on a huge open grass field only. Absolutely not one jump.
Not a mark on it and never ever abused.
Went to use it after letting it sit for 2 weeks and the servo is gone. I called Traxxas from the field and put the phone near it so the Tech could here it & he’s the one who told
me it’s gone. Evidently this happens to a lot if not all Xmaxx’s.
I’m looking at a recommendation on which servo I should buy that won’t let me down.
Not hearing good things about the upgraded metal one Traxxas sells either.
Traxxas tech I just talked to yesterday kind
of said these are toys and what should I expect. I said Mr. Jenkins, R&D and the Engineering Departments probably don’t share his views.
New Tmaxx slipper clutches are also defective. Mine disintegrated on me when I was breaking it in & that Tech said same thing happened to him on his new Tmaxx and Revo
What’s going on with Traxxas???
Bought my first Tmaxx way back in 1989/90 & I have 7 Traxxas vehicles so I am a Traxxas guy
Thanks

I can’t help you with the Servo. I’m still running the stock Servo.
I think it may not actually be Traxxas, but who actually builds the components they use. I have very few issues out of my Traxxas RCs
Wow
love my hoss
Put the metal servo gear on both of them
Great video as usual.
I think i will get the Hoss.
I still get nitro fever got Mp10
We got the Hoss based on your videos. Unfortunately the center diff got ruined on the second run. I ordered the new aluminum center diff and am hoping for better luck. Before the issue , it was crazy fun. Just hoping it holds up. I've also ordered the driveshafts and stiffer springs (Tekno RC) plus GTR shocks . And based on Razer RC and others recommendations I purchased the metal wheel hex as well.
Damn. They are all money pits right 😂?
$0 mod.
I'll try that
