Leigh diffey is seriously the best motorsports commentator right now. Nascar cup series races feel 10 times as exciting with him, even if still liked rick allen
For those like me who didn’t watch it live - yes, the ending to the montage/monologue was indeed that abrupt. I went and checked another upload, and it showed the broadcast cutting to an NBC promo after that last fade to black.
IndyCar is making the right decision. If you are going to grow the sport substantially you have to be on network television. NBC putting so much of the content on Peacock was it's demise. As soon as the race was over yesterday I canceled my Peacock subscription.
It really scares me considering nascar is doing the same next year and putting it on Amazon, and it's even worse since the deal lasts 7 years ): at least it's not as bad as indycar had (for now at least)
Ok. NBC Needs to Seriously Broadcast/Cover The ENTIRE NASCAR Cup Series Season, Rather Than FOX, As Well As The CW With The NASCAR Xfinity Series, And Lastly, TNT With The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series.
Nbc has great coverage for nascar and indycar. very sad to see fox will be "covering" (or at least poorly attempting to) indgcar for the forseeable future. I probably wont even watch indycar anymore, foxs pathetic "coverage" is more infuriating to watch than anything else. Penske has made a very bad decision, fox is paying the same amount of money nbc was yet they admitted theyd put indycar on FS2, meanwhile nbc was broadcasting it on big NBC. Thanks for posting this, i didnt get to see the sign off live
I had no idea that was the end of the line for Indycar on NBC. Does that mean no more Indycar on Sky Sports F1 here in the UK next year as Comcast owns Sky too?
NBC had its fucken problems, but they did a good enough job that it genuinely took some thought to zero in on who I'd rather have (ESPN, just so IndyCar can start posting YT content again). Fox though? Fox Sports? REALLY? Maybe I'm calling it prematurely, but that feels like yet another L to me.....
ESPN likely would have buried Indycar behind F1 in terms of priorities (which is their primary motorsport, though F1 might be heading to Netflix after next season). However I agree with you that going to Fox is an L for Indycar especially if they treat it like NASCAR. I personally would have preferred Indycar going to TNT/TruTV (who have done an excellent job with their MotoGP coverage) because they would have taken the sport seriously. However Indycar rejected TNT's bid mainly because the Indy 500 would have become exclusive to cable and/or Max with reduced ratings as a result.
Now that I'm wondering, will Sky Sports uk be Impacted by the the new deal or not ? Since they showed indycar on there and shared commentary with nbc and Sky during ad breaks on nbc
So glad INDYCAR is leaving NBC. NBC constantly bumped or delayed INDYCAR coverage for NASCAR races and putting races on pay per view Peacock. Good riddance.
Yes! Fox has all the races on their channel. NBC can have golf, yawn, yawn and the Olympics which were woke this year. They sucked covering the races, except for Bell and Hinch!
I agree when I was at Indy this year during the rain delay they had said if the race were to have run on Monday the 500 would be moved to USA Network because NBC was focused on Golf I was like are you fucking kidding me
Kinda sad that Dif wasnt at the last race, still hes doing a good job at nascar

The network may have not have prioritized Indycar but the coverage was awesome with great commentary.
@@southeastcupseries you nailed it!
NBC doesn’t have IndyCar coverage anymore but the memories of the past 15 years will still exist.
That's an Awesome sendoff to NBC sports with lee diffy finishing up the Indycar on NBC tribute
I wish indycar season was longer
I'll miss Diffey with IndyCar, but look forward to him at NASCAR.
He’s having a great time with Steve.
The end of an era, thank you NBC. Hope Fox will pick up Townsend and Hinch for the commentary
i hope too...
Is Kevin Lee gonna be the play by play for fox?
@@ShieldX_Snowy The announcers for Fox next year are still TBD (To Be Determined) from what I heard.
Thank you NBC for everything and good luck to Diffey in NASCAR
IndyCar Always will be The Greatest Open Wheel Series on the Planet

R.I.P.
INDYCAR On NBC.
(2009-2024)
216 Races, 15 Years what a HISTORIC RIDE
Farwell NBC and hello Fox to IndyCar.
Well shoot. Didn’t know they weren’t doing it anymore. I really enjoyed the broadcasts and hey got me back into it the last two years.

NBC Lost Indy Car Because Of The Network's Emphasis On Olympic Sports And Golf. They Lost NASCAR To ABC And ESPN For A While For The Same Reason
Auto-caps working overtime?
why do you type like this? are you brain damaged?
NBC Got the return of the NBA & WNBA
Why Are You Using Capitals For Each Word?
Golf I can understand being upset about but the Olympics are bigger than indycar.
Can’t wait to see how FoxSports will cover IndyCar in 2025.
Will miss Diffey. Also gonna miss their banger of a theme

They started out strong but when they cancelled the NBC Spirts Network it was over
i just really hope Hinch and TBell are still in the booth for Fox
So, with Indy car on fox. What does that mean for Nascar?
9 of the 14 races for Nascar on Fox 9 of those 14 will be on FS1

It will be on fox sports. Here in America the races will all be on national television so it’s for the better at least in the states
