    I have watched your video on your introduction to the Saitek Flight Yoke System, and I'm basically the same as you, in that I have always used a joystick/hotas system in flight simulators, but with MSFS2020 on the horizon, I would very much like to get a full flight system, and initially I was very tempted by the Honeycombe yoke, but I have now realised that for the price of just the Honeycombe Yoke, I could buy the Saitek Yoke, Pedals, and Throttle Quadrant, so after watching your review, I think that my mind is now made up that I will go for the Saitek, so I would like to thank you for a very informative and helpful review.

      You are most welcome.
      Yes I agree, for the price, the Logitech Flight Yoke System (and pedals etc) is priced well and great for your first/introductory Flight Yoke System.

    The dead zone still exists even after doing this. It is "built in" to the saitek firmware.
    I installed an old joystick card into my yoke for the roll and pitch. It is now perfectly consistent. Best mod ever...

      Just use the recalibration registry hack. This should do the trick without any additional hardware

    I just tried it in 2020 and it does have quite a dead zone. I expect that whoever designed it must have flown a cessna 150 and assumed that the lack of response was how its meant to be.

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  3 года назад

      I didn't find it had much of a dead zone in FS2020; ensure you've setup the correct sensitivities etc.

      @@Huddison I only had it 24 hours and I'm supposed to be working. So I will have to set it up, I have the drivers and the profile and I selected bog standard plane and did a circuit and it was very much like actually flying a real c150. Its very non-linear - hopefully I can get it dialled in. I fly a Robin most of the time and every two years I do an SEP revalidation flight in a Cessna and it feels like everything is connected with elastic!

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  3 года назад

      @@dr_jaymz It's good to hear it's akin to flying a real Cessna. It is quite old tech now, newer yokes are meant to replicate the feeling of flight a lot better.

    Hi Huddison thanks for your nice and informative videos and i have the same Yoke as you. How do you maintain it ? That rod must also be greased sometimes ? Thanks 🛩

    • @Huddison

      I've only had it for 5 months, but the rod/shaft is still limber and fluid.
      I imagine a bit of grease on it will suffice, if that ever changes.

    Hi, i'm kinda new to all this.I know that this yoke can go up to 45 degrees right? does it mean that with this fix you won't be able to steer up to 90 degrees with yoke and that it's gonna be 100% accurate in the game as in the real life?

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  4 года назад

      If I understand your question correctly: this quick fix doesn't change anything other in FSX, aside from a more fluid movement - when pulling/pushing back/forward etc on the physical yoke and the resulting transition in the game.

      I don't think I will be rushing into MSFS 2020. I have a multi monitor home 737 cockpit, and so far it doesn't look like MSFS has the ability to unlock views as per FSX/P3D.
      So far it looks great for the simple home setup... especially GA...

  • @MilanPutnik
    @MilanPutnik 3 года назад

    Is this a joke ?
    You have a dead zone issue with the yoke, you mention various struggles people go trough all the way towards opening the device in order to alleviate/fix the issue...
    Then you come and say "hey you know, I know of a fix for that, it's kinda not perfect but still" - and you go into the classic simulator settings menu, go to the dead zone slider which's name even precisely reflects it's function...and you just set it all the way to zero as literally everyone should be doing the first time they go trough the simple setup of their simulator...and that is a fix ??
    Come on...
    No, it's not a fix, it's called "setting up a dead zone in FSX", plain and simple !
    The title of the video is misleading and it's so not cool man because people will waste time by clicking on the video in hope to see you showing some kind of an easy trick you have up your sleeve, only to find out that there is absolutely nothing but a simple instruction for setting up a dead zone for a controller within the classic FSX controller settings.
    So not cool man, so not cool.

    • @Huddison
      @Huddison  3 года назад +1

      You only need to read through the comments that many people didn't know about this feature.
      Relax, my highly strung friend - there's worse things in life to be stressed about.

    • @MilanPutnik
      @MilanPutnik 3 года назад +1

      Actually before I wrote the comment I saw that and went like "but still look at all those lost souls..." (joking).
      Yes, yes, I know. I'm an old flight simmer and I know pretty much everything that exists related to that ancient dead zone issue with that yoke.
      I was surfing RUclips for some controller board electronic circuit manuals, when your video popped up - I saw the date and I clicked...like, interesting, let's see maybe somebody figured out something new...
      Watching, watching, time passes by, and at one point I realize there is only the simple setup of the controller dead zone from default FSX settings.
      No fixes, no tricks, nothing even close.
      Nah, I am not nervous, on the Internet everyone sounds dramatic positively or negatively.
      I just wanted to emphasize that the title should be different...you wouldn't have old professionals clicking with the hope that somebody discovered something new, then leaving dissapointed.
