This has been so much fun for my son since Christmas. Linked with X Plane 11. (now X plane 12), it's fantastic. I think the LCD add on's are next. My son is in the ATC and this is a winner for future pilot training.

Just some advice and tips for a a better landing:
5. No parking break while landing, Use reverse thrust and spoilers to your advantage, No breaks!
4. No spoilers until landed, Only use flaps and throttle to slow your aircraft while mid air, remember, you can always go around.
3. Center line, Upon approach aim for the center line as best you can, Good center line will improve the landing drastically.
2. Flaring, A flare is basically a controlled stall, Its pretty much when you slow your plane down enough that it's not stalling but its not going very fast, Once your at the right speed point your nose up and land on your back two wheels first, This normally takes about 10 to 60ft of runway.
1. Approach, Like I said before approach is everything.
There are many YT tutorials on how to do all of this stuff, Just a few tips to improve your landing's :D
You pecan put in a slight bit of speed break on descent and the beginning of your approach. On the 737 it’ll tell you if you need to deploy them or not. As for your final approach, it really matters where you are because you don’t want to get to slow, but you don’t want to be too fast. When your about to land you usually want to arm the speed breaks so they’ll automatically deploy on landing (you can do this by slightly pulling the speed break lever back until you get a green light next your artificial horizon). And good on him for using trim, it took me years to figure out how helpful trim is😂.

obl2vi0s you can use spoilers in flight thats what theyre for. When on the run way they dont slow the plane down only help keep it down they SPOIL the lift hence the name

You can use brakes while landing.
It’s much easier to control from the cockpit! As an avid flight simulator enthusiast, this makes me cringe, but no hate! I’m glad to see another young man getting into the hobby

when landing your plane you have to do something called a flare: in the last 10-50 feet gently apply back pressure on the yoke in order to pull the nose of the aircraft up so you land back gear first (he should prefferably practice this manouver in a smaller plane like a cessna)

There's a big difference between constructive criticism and people just being hateful. I drove a semi for 15 years until I lost my vision in one eye. Through those years many would try to direct me, even when I didn't need it. I never got upset, they were just trying to help. If people on here are trying to help this young man and others of us who are just getting into this hobby, then my reply is, "Thank-you."

Shame on all the people criticizing here. I for one am glad to see that he's having a good time and that he's so interested in piloting. I used to play Flight Simulators constantly as a kid, and I still do! Keep it up man, rooting for you! To go back to the essence, I was looking at buying this gear as well, since I'm rather tired of using a joystick. This gear looks like a good bang for you buck so thanks for the extensive review!

Im not sure if its his first time taking off and landing but hes young and he did real good if it was his first time. All these other people, instead of bashing the kid because you think you know better and cant pick on someone your own size, try encouraging the kid to keep practicing and get better, keep learning, because in xplane or fsx or any flight sim game, you can practice as much as you want and if you fail, it's ok because its just a SIM! Good job kid, keep flying.

I am 42 years old, I am not a pilot and I enjoy it too. I also have this lineup.
You may want to let the lad know he can take off quicker without full flaps 😂 also let him know to use full spoilers after landing not on final as he may end up stalling. No hate, just advice.
And he had the thrust on idle while in the decent and he had the thrust at 50% after touchdown then uses the parking brake to stop! Dis man needs to go to flight school.

everyone getting mad saying "he isnt using cockpit view" he's using it to show flaps, spoilers, gear, etc. He showing us whats actually happening with the equipment. It isnt a landing compilation, its a review/showcase.

That's more like a Ryanair landing aha! love it!......And Jensen, tell dad he needs to save some money, because you are going to need some real lessons as soon as this corona thing is out of the way. My first flight sim was Microsoft Flight Sim 1998.....the earlier Microsoft flight sims were much more user friendly than the current ones in my view, though the scenery was pretty basic, you could add or fly anything on them with no compatibility issues, now they are frought with compatibility issues. I now have X Plane 10 which I haven't used for ages and the same yoke gear etc still in the box for years....... so looks like I need to upgrade to 11 to get the best experience...the corona issue has encouraged me to get the thing out of the loft and set it up again! aha!
I now wish I was this kid.

this is my 100th time seeing a Ryanair jumping in a landing
I mean the Landings 1 4/10 lol because 1, Parking Brake is not what you slow down with! You have pedals push them to activate toe brakes Speed Brake and Rev thrust comes before you reach 80 Knts but Speed Brakes fine also you glided for a lil long but I hope you enjoy flying the way its suits you!
Also If you are on Xplane the way you set parking brake is wrong. The only button you need to set is the red button behind the wheel to parking brake. And Speed Brake on the side to side button on the right hand side to Right Speed brake on and left speed brake off. Trim is already set landing gear is the red button on the front right side (Its kinda buggy) and the Legit side is trim. Hope that helps!

I started playing sims at that age. I’m 37 now. I wish I had went to flight school and got a commercial license. I would have done very well. But it’s to late now. I hope that young man chases his dreams. Keep playing that simulator young man and flight school will be much easier 👍

It’s great to see your son passionate about flight simulators I started out the same way as a kid with fs2004 and it helped me understand the fundamental to how aircraft behave and helped me greatly when transitioning to real aircraft! I wish you and your son the very best and to keep at it! Also to all the insecure pilots in the comments bashing a young pilot have some decency. Honestly the landing wasn’t bad, lands better than most sim pilots out there and most likely better than all the “Ryanair” “something called flare” keyboard warriors in the comments.

It isn't.. you would go "Positive rate, gear up." Rotate is when your lifting off.

What about the brakes on the pedals?
The pedals are used to steer. The brakes are something called reverse thrust.
@@rehman327 The brakes on the pedals are wheel brakes like in a car. Reverse thrust is on the throttle. I commented because he didn't show them

How did you make it so your yoke controls the rudder too? Because I don’t have pedals and these buttons I use on the yoke for the rudder don’t work well and turn very slow
one thing that irritates me is that hes flying in 3rd person but hes good for hid age.

Mine stopped working had to send it back I found a plug in that I thought was a aux cord so I plugged it in and it wasn’t a aux cord idk what happened but the thing just died and never worked again so don’t plug in your headphones into that little hole at the back of the yoke 😂

i know this video is 2 years old already but a good tip is to play in the cockpit view so that you can better see the angle your plane is at and whether you need to nose up or down
Your landing was a 6.3 just like A Ryanair landing 😂 gotta reduce your speed a bit and slowly decent down don’t go fast and force it down because then your going down and then since your plane is going to fast it lifts back up and makes it a struggle that’s why you want to go slow and then slowly decend so that you don’t throw it down

Hi, I'm looking to purchase this yoke, throttle, and pedal setup but am unsure if it's compatible with Mac? Do you by chance know if it will work with Mac? After researching, some places and forums say it works while others say it won't work. Thanks!
In real life, I have a dodo plane, a few days ago the engine failed, I had to land on private land it was very difficult, but even more difficult to pay for the repair of the plane :(

Clough Reviews the reason I found it hard to watch is because I wanted to be able to help and correct him so he knows but obviously I can’t, he did good showing how the equipment he was using works.
Tell him he did a great job.
Also try get him to download infinite flight and play that aswell as X-Plane because it’s much easier to learn the basics on a less complex sim.

Henry Wallace if you have a yoke and rudder pedals with 0 knowledge then this is no point having a flight simulator that’s as complex as this, It’s like having a bike with no wheels

When you bought the Logitech did it come with any screws for the yoke?
I have tried to get these working with x plane and can't get it working. Parts of it work...some buttons work but not a thing on the pedals and nothing on the yoke for pitch or yaw? It does work perfectly with Flight Sim 2020.Any suggestions.
1) you should not put spoilers on landing, but after landing.
2) it would be better to make the landing from the cockpit.
why do you have the flaps on a button not on the blue one, i have spoilers/ speed brakes on the red ones
