Love the presentation! I have an interest in applying for a personal American Express PLATINUM for travel, personal GOLD for dining and groceries, and a GOLD business card for my LLC. I have no credit cards. My credit score is 742 and no inquiries at all with one small student loan that is up to date. If I apply for the personal platinum online, Can you explain when I should apply for the next two cards? Let's say I put in the 1st application for the personal PLATINUM on Sun 4/7/2024, what dates next should I do the GOLD personal application and then the GOLD business application???

The Blue Cash Preferred gives 6% cash back on groceries. I also found that the Hilton and Bonvoy Business cards give 6% and 5% respectfully for dining & food

Thanks for sharing your thoughts about the platinum vs. the gold, that was super helpful! I agree it seems easier to accrue points with the gold card. I was thinking about getting the Hilton gold, because that accrues points the fastest, but the regular gold seems more flexible.

Thanks for sharing this and explaining it in detail. I'm surprised they don't have a higher requirement for the credit score. It's a shame that soft pulls can count against you when all it says is that you're shopping around for the best offers.
Soft pulls DONT count against you at all that’s why I put the pre approval link in the description so you can see if your approvals without being hurt.

I applied for a personal amex and got approved then proceeded to get a business card think i would on get one hard pull. I was wrong and they did another hard pull for the business card. So i got 2 hard inquiries.

I had the same problem initially but I got no more new inquiries. My last one falls off in April.

Update - went through your vid and you mentioned if you applied to 3 Amex cards within a few days....so I said let me try this since I just got approved for the Blue Cash & Everyday Card about 5 days ago....so I applied for the Gold Card and got approved!! Thank you! My only question is that there is no pre-set spending limit (didn't know that) so wondering since there is no pre-set spending limit how obtaining this card will help my credit utilization %?

Instead of paying the credit card off immediately after returning from the grocery store, wouldn't it be better to wait until after the statement date (if your total utilization is below 30%) to pay it off so that it shows in your credit history / profile?
Great question but honestly as long as your keeping your utilization under that 30% when and how you pay is what works best for you.
I argue this with people alllll the time and they tell me I’m wrong. I’m like dude I do this all the time and it’s worked for me I don’t know what the hell yall talking about. I charge and pay it off in full as soon as the charge shows up so mainly before the month is up I’m paid off!! And all three of my cards have increased my limit. 20 grand each. And then I was pre approved for this card as well today. Do as I do get a card and pay for everything with your card. Gas , food, groceries you name it and just pay it off in full before month is up. And watch you get and increase. If not you have to request an increase and I guarantee you’ll get it!!
I had a charge off credit card but it’s almost paid off . Once it’s paid off will that increase the chances or is it still negative ?

All the steps and requirements i explained you might not have known or maybe wonder why you were denied in the past. I gave is how you can get approved and yes get 3 cards with 1 inquiry.
Question! Is there a way to get a card if you have a default with them? Its not on my credit report. My ex during the divorce ran it up to 8K and didn't pay it. Problem is we were both on the card.

You must pay what’s owed since you want to go back. I would suggest nav fed they give credit limits and have a Amex card that won’t affect that

What if I’m new to credit score 670 but age only 1 month 2 primaries was incarcerated so have no credit
I would start with doing the pre approval link since it won’t affect your credit then if your pre approved go ahead and apply.

Also if you have any sort of Loan Modification forgiveness (mortgage, personal loan, student loan etc) they will deny you.
Unless it’s had a lot of late payments that were recent that’s the only way I can see that happening
@@beautiful1heartless Interesting, I recently applied for an Amex and was denied. So I called the recon line and that’s what they told me the reason for the denial(called 3 times and got 3 different reps). The loan modification I did was due to Covid and there were no missed payments. I want to believe the recon conversations with those particular reps were not in my favor and I only “HUCA” 3 times. But after looking at some DP it seems like Amex gives you an auto denial for having a loan modification/forgiveness regardless of your credit health.
Its a Charge Card not a Credit Card. There is a difference 🧐.

I have the gold. As far as the platinum the $695 AF doesn’t really make sense for my life style given I travel maybe 3-4 times a yr. Also I’m not sure about the 3% CB on gas?? 4%CB at restaurants 4%CB on groceries 3%CB travel n hotels. Could you have gotten it confused with the Navy Federal Amex? That cards has 3% CB on gas, but I’ll definitely double check 😊
For the platinum as I was explaining in the video it’s only good for people who travel a lot especially because of the high annual fee and minimum perks
I was referring to the gold with the cash back rewards I also added those on the screen to show which card it applies to 🫶🏽
The Amex gold and Amex navy both have the cash back rewards on gas , dining and grocery from 3-4% depending on which one you get
You are correct. The personal Gold doesnt cover gas. However it is covered on the business gold. Also its NOT cashback. You get Membership Reward pts. They redemptions are bad for anything other than travel. Their non-charge cards are better for regular cashback.
