The only problem I get with Rita is when the restraint squashes my leg. The launch is good, the layout is ok, but I have done much better launch coasters.
I don't see it going anywhere until it becomes really unreliable. As much as we enthusiasts may not like it too much, whenever the smiler is closed, Rita seems to be the ride that draws the biggest crowds.

Rita to me is a "can pass" ride on busy days... the dark forrest is quite missable on a busy day there tbh. My issue is the theming, it hurts my head that 13 is well themed, enough to warrant the change of name and theme in the area. Personally I would love to see the following. - The drag race theme disappeared. - A church/cathedral fascia over the station with the control box acting as the steeple. - Carts converted to Church bench, Alta benches, - A cracked stain glass window which has a safe zone of space for the trains to pass out of Where the countdown lights are now - Spooky evil voice telling you to get OUT and heart beat rising when your about to launch - Getting rid of the must escape, go go go grandad which is as scary as cbeebies land - near misses, other buildings to pass through and prehaps a jump scare at the end when you come back into the Church building from the back. Have thought about this tooo toooo much
I have a feeling it may get the softer shoulder restraints found on Maverick & Storm Runner, because the ride's snappy transitions may cause neck injuries with lap bars, & I can only imagine how painful that would be. It could be relocated to another park in the mext few years too
Firstly Hagrid's has 7 launches, secondly Stealth launches riders to its top speed in 2.3 seconds! EDIT: the outside of Stealth still says 2.3 seconds despite the launch being increased so that it reaches its top speed in 1.9 seconds. Wow, that's to many edits.

Rita definitely is underrated, it is better than Spinball, which is a ride I would personally like to see removed. Spinball always makes you feel dizzy and sick and isn’t an enjoyable experience. Hence why it’s near the kids area because that’s something they enjoy, whereas grownups dislike.
Tbh the amount of downtime and issues something like CWOA new coaster I think would work really well in dark forest. More twists and faster with a full circle to do rather than chessingtons would be amazing. Also 13 could stay open mostly.
An alton wing coaster i could definitely see happening and with the nemesis hype they could really make it feel like your feet are gonna crack against the rocks
i think that’s pointless tbh, towers want/need a standout thrill attraction, that will not do that, as we already have two. they need something different and innovative, a mack extreme spinner is the best choice for them, along with an intamin blitz, probably like taron but hopefully more like maverick if it happens

@@trash_frog a wing coaster is not a good idea for towers, they also probably wouldn’t do it, they’ve just finished their B&M deal. a wing coaster isn’t marketable for towers, we already have two and many more in the world. they won’t get one it’s just out of the question really. inferno also wasn’t planned to be like nemesis, it just ended up being an invert. wasn’t done intentionally to begin with
I think what they should do is change the restraints to lap bars keep the launch but then work on the layout like give it a small scaled top hat towards the area where roller disco was and have it interact with thirteen with some overbanks, smooth transitions, airtime hills no inversions and they would have a launched coaster like no other in the world
i wouldnt like a family coaster to replace a extreme thrill coaster. but would love to see something from mack or intamin like a blitz or a mack mega like helix (but smaller).

And we get proper immersive experiences in dark forest. My latest suggestion being a huss breakdance themed in with all vines on the platform a wooden carved op box or normal cabin with tree trunks from the roof......ride cars same colour as th13teen train, be awesome
honestly I don't think Rita is that bad, in my opinion yes it could be better but its a good mix between thrill and family and still works as well as the newer versions even with a hydraulic launch. I'm guessing the reason why its so hated was because at first it didn't fit the area with its queen of speed theme and also it did replace boneshaker and had been over hyped (like th13teen)t. I'd say its decent enough just maybe not for everyone.

Definitely going to be the first coaster to get replaced, but I reckon we're still a decent amount of time away from that happening. I think Alton Towers are more likely to invest in more permanent Flat Rides after the new coaster has been built. Enthusiasts have not been quiet about their lack of flats, so I think Alton Towers will need to take control of that before removing anything else.
The hate this coaster gets is shocking! I mean, ok, it's not amazing, but it's still a ace ride that packs a good enough of a punch I'd say & as an enthusiast, I don't dislike it! An LSM Conversion could work & would interesting, however, I feel that if RITA were to have that conversion, it would loose its edge as the Characteristic of a Hydraulic Launch is that it has this intense power launch! I feel like while LSMs could be the answer as the Hydraulic Launches on both RITA & Stealth are becoming more & more of pain to fix given the down time these rides suffer from, it would be sad to see the old launch system go as these rides would loose their edge! with rita this is how you sit for the launch bit push your head towards the back of your seat hold the shoulder harness and brace dont put your hands up beacuse you get thrown back and towards the end you do foward a bit from brakeing but ive been on it like 4 times its good but glatica is better
rita will never get a conversion, they’ll remove it when they need to and hopefully replace with some sort of blitz would be great. but rita won’t be going anytime soon it’s very popular among the GP. hagrids has 7 launches btw not 3, and i doubt towers would go for family based on the coasters they’re producing, after project horizon, a major thrill ride is needed. a wing coaster isn’t really what towers needs, we’ve got two already. they need a blitz and a mack extreme spinner
Rita isn't that bad of a ride, it can be a bit head bang inducing on that first turn, but it's still good. The hydraulic launch will definitely not be replaced as its iconic. If they were gonna replace it was LSMs, then they'd probably do it on a much more unreliable hydraulic coaster like Kingda Ka. That thing breaks down more than it's operational.
Please remove it ASAP, unless someone can find Maverick's heartline roll and just insert it somewhere along the track, and then replace the launch with LSMs
Zamperla look to be setting themselves up as the RMC for old intamin launch coasters. Could see rita getting that treatment down the line. Just need to update the profiling to make it more whippy. Bung in a rapid heatline roll, sorted.
@@ThemeParkEnthusiast a also think reliability would be an issue, if you can remember the opening of hagrids when it kept going down. When I went to universal 3 weeks ago. Hagrids was closed for rope drop for 3 hrs. The same with velocicoaster. I got stuck on that ride and had to be evacuated of the breaks, 2 other trains of the lsm launches
They just need to build longer coasters, rather than short ones. Its a shame. We only get, for the best part, short sharp rides that sont last. I hope AT, TP etc listen to the many who have been saying this for years. Please invest in longer, better coaster
I loved Rita many years ago until I grew past the maximum height, I can still squeeze into the restraints but it will bruise my shoulders and crush my chest, Stealth does the same thing but not as bad because there's no jolty corners and Stealth is such a adrenaline rush, just ashame the old intamin restraints try and kill me.
I feel like rita is the most likely to be replaced because alton probably want a new world record and something that fits the area more and both Rita and 13 both close in the rain alot which stops people going to that area so the queues every where else get longer
@@Th3Sm1ler oh well the last few times I went it did and I don't see it close much when it's not raining so I think the rain cause at issues for it fairly often when did you ride it in the rain because I think rain causing issues for it is fairly new

Stealth reaches 80mph in 1.8 seconds the old 2.3 caused too many rollbacks so the park turned up the launch

It really does not need those shoulder restraints , lap bar would be fine , it doesn’t go upside down so no need.
They do feel bulky around the shoulders.

Rita can't have a magnetic launch as they don't have the power supply. That's why it uses a hydraulic launch.
Also Hagrids cost over 300 million pounds to construct, and takes us way more than 2 times the space. I think an like of hagrids is extremely unlikely
