Port Aventura, Europa Park, and Phantasialand are my favorite 3 in Europe. Efteling and Plopsaland were both surprising. I am thinking that if Plopsaland expands into the field to the north with a couple more top tier coasters, it could become one of the best parks in Europe. I had fun at Hansa Park, and Energylandia. I actually liked Walibi Belgium and was blown away by the theming (as well as the Belgium waffles they serve there).

Totally agree with Europapark being no.1 though I have to admit, I'm probably a little biased because I grew up in the area and we used to go there at least twice a year as a kid, sometimes even one or two weekends a month when we had seasonal tickets. I connect so many of my best and most valuable childhood memories to this park that no matter what other places I visited through the years and and how amazing they all were, they could never live up to the feeling I had and still have every time I go through these gates. It's definitely an amazing place that's worth a visit, especially when you have young children because there will be something there for all of you.

I agree with your list! It's crazy to see how European parks have evolved the past 10-15 years, making it the themepark hub in the world for me. After visiting US&A I realised how lucky we are in Europe, with good quality coasters in amazing settings and not just put on a parking lot.

Went Alton Towers the other day Wicker Man is the best wooden coaster I have ever been on. For its pretty small size it delivers such a rush very well structured and made and surprisingly smooth Smiler was my fav ride I always regard it as a mashup between Nemesis and Oblivion because it has that vertical climb which was terrifying because we were on it during a rain storm. I agree though Alton Towers has the potential to be the GOAT if it wanted to be they are always adding new rides and another new ride is coming next year I have heard.

  • @IroAppe
    @IroAppe 4 месяца назад +4

I agree. I don't visit Europa Park very often anymore, because it's been my homepark and I know all the coasters too well. It's so good that with Voltron we finally have a new top coaster, because that's exactly my only critique as well: Coaster lineup.
And that says a lot, because it means that everything else - e-v-e-r-y-t--h-i-n-g - is absolutely immaculate. I am still in awe whenever I consciously pay attention to the ride operations! Like, look at what they are doing! Eurosat and Silver Star are probably the two most fascinating operations to look at, it just flows so satisfyingly. And the capacity, the line moves and moves. Since it has been my homepark, I took it for granted, but now I know that Europa Park probably just has the best operations worldwide, and if not certainly among the very top.
Add to that the theming and love put into everything. Like season-specific decoration with thousands of pumpkins or christmas trees, flowing seamlessly into each other between Halloween and Christmas, getting more and more christmasy every day. What a great idea! In the summer, they place chairs and deckchairs around in open places and green spots, where people can relax. They use the great weather and scenery to provide a free-diving show, then in Portugal it really feels like summer near the sea, it's deceivingly tricky, the scenery is just that good. In winter they provide places with those logs that burn from the inside for a long time, where guests can warm themselves. That just speaks of consideration and care and thought in the wellness and comfort of the park guests. To be honest, I can't talk about all of Europa Park's service qualities, the list is just too long.
Now they just had to provide some pull factors again, some more coasters, and they're just in the game. I know their family manufacturer Mack Rides got it in them, certainly when I tried DC Rivals, and now they put out Ride to Happiness as well. And now Voltron. I see a bright future if Europa Park just continues to bring the good Mack Rides producsts in, which they haven't for a decade, but maybe now that is about to change.

Great video! Europa Park seems like the most well rounded park in the world to me. I'm kind of surprised you haven't been to a Six Flags park yet. I've only been to SFA and SFGADV. People hate on Six Flags, but I like both of those parks. Great Adventure has my favorite coaster lineup of any park I've been to. The ops at Great Adventure, especially Nitro, are the best overall of any coaster park I've been to. Ops at certain rides will literally run down the platform. It's crazy. The ops at SFA have been solid as well overall. They seen to run one train often, but that's not the ops fault. The food has been solid at both parks too.

People may disagree, but in my opinion Balder is the scariest coaster at Liseberg if you sit in the rear seat, it has a great drop which is very unexpected, and also very good airtime hills. explanations for some weaknesses of alton towers rides
oblivion was the first dive coaster in the world so its going to be the weakest
the smiler was built mostly for record breaking and they didnt focus on smoothness too much its still my favourite as it looks amazing and the world record it has makes it even more amazing
rita is really rough and is a weak launch
and nemesis might be the best invert in europe due to its landscape use and centerpiece which is nemesis you just couldnt experience it
the flat rides do ruin it i agree on that
alton towers is mostly a park of worlds firsts and a great atmosphere and history
they arent allowed to build above the trees so they are highly limited in their building

    • @jackcrosby448
      @jackcrosby448 4 месяца назад +1

Yep the world firsts thing does sometimes hold it back in hindsight. Oblivion and Galactica are really tame but were essentially rushed out to be the first in Europe of their respective kinds.
Smiler is so rattly it's almost becoming painful to ride.
The two best rollercoasters there IMO were the ones where they weren't trying to really be a first - Nemesis and Wickerman. I hope they can get back to that. I really wouldn't mind seeing some of the older stuff replaced if necessary.

I am experiencing a second youth with my brother (I just turned 35 yesterday) and are touring Europe for theme parks. Last year we did a road trip (I live in Belgium) to Denmark. We did both Sommerland parks and on the way back did Hansa-park. It was second half of august and apparenlty in Denmark schools were already back running. So there were hardly any crowds! I must say Piraten and Juvelen and Phoenix weren't too special in our opinion. Both good parks and we had a blast as both parks had their own free on site small water parks as well! We didnt know much about Hansa Park so hadnt have much expectations about it, but oh my Kärnan absolutely one of the best in whole Europe! I agree with a lot you say. I too find FLY the most overrated coaster in Europe, didnt enjoy it actually. Also did 3 days of Portaventura half september thinking it would be quiet. Oh boy were we wrong, lazy Spain so they have massive summer hollidays and school only starts end op september, so it was 2 days of queing, against our personal beliefs day 1 we bought crazy expensive fast passes as otherwise we would barely be able to ride anything, and doing the trip from Belgium is quite an investment. Shambhala is my 2nd fave coaster in Europe so far and also loved Furious Bahco so we did have a good time in the end, but like you it left us with a sour after taste as this park could be absolute elite under different management. I hear rumors about Universal wanting to buy it back? Would be amazing news... Also enjoyed Plopsaland recently (40% discount through our Bobbejaanland season passes!), Bellewaerde with its new Amazonia unique water ride and yesterday Walibi Belgium. We were fortunate there were hardly any crowds (crowd calendar put it at 2% capacity) and basicly everything was walk-on or max 10 minutes of queing. Managed 5 rides of Kondaa and its truly one of the best in Europe as well! Regards theming Walibi Belgium did improve a lot and more investments are being done every year. Pulsar is a very unique launching water coaster, Flash back is a very fun log flume, Dalton Terror an older but intense drop tower... We had an amazing day. I'm sure you would have had a much better experience with less crowds. If you ever come to Belgium or the neighborhood, make sure to give Bobbejaanland and Bellewaerde a try! Smaller parks but Bobbejaanland has a very good triple launch coaster with fury and Bellewaerde has its unique new water ride, unique Huss topple tower (which breaks down more than it runs) and is also partly a zoo. The park itself is beautuful and charming. Couple of weeks ago did the combo Parque Warner / Parque de Attractiones Madrid. Glad I could add the unique extended skyloop Abysmo in PDA and Escape from Gotham City in Warner. Both are good parks, but typical spanish horrible operating and unfriendly staff who dont speak a word of English. Next on the list: Walibi Holland, Efteling, Heide-Park, Energylandia + Legendia, Thorpe, Chessington, Blackpool Pleasure Beach, Alton Towers, Parc Asterix, Toverland... So we wont be bored next 2 years! Oh yes, we also did Movie Park in Germany, which was also a free entry through our Bobbejaanland season pass (all PDR parks). While not an elite park, its still fun to do!

    Tripsdrill - Intamin Hot Racer

Hansa Park - Vekoma Super Shockwave
    Djurs Sommerland - Mack Multi-launch
Farup Sommerland - B&M Surf Coaster
Heide Park - New-gen Vekoma models
Parc Asterix - Gerstlauer Hyper Infinity Coaster (seriously, this park gets so stacked, and please retrack Goudurix)
Alton Towers - Intamin Blitz (I want it below the tree lines and packs the intensity and airtime)
Toverland - Mack Stryker Coaster with 5 inversions
Liseberg - B&M Hyper (please fill the rails with sand)
    PortAventura World- Intamin Blitz
Efteling - Mack Xtreme Spinner (below the tree lines with some intensity thrown in)
Phantasialand - GCI Wooden/Hybrid Coaster that goes through theming and trenches
Energylandia - Mack Xtreme Spinner (this park has so many Vekomas already, it needs more from other companies)
Europa Park - Mack Xtreme Spinner (this park is literally a playground for Mack so why not give them the model in the park that they were missing?)

legendia was opened in 1959, it has a lot of old attractions, it was originally there "śląskie wesołe miasteczko" and in 2017 it changed the owner who built the lech coaster, for example, this rollercoaster with 2 loops was built in 1980 and initially stood in England, in 2006 it was transported to legendia then "śląskie wesołe miasteczko" when they transported it, there was communism in Poland and the difficult times of Russian rule. I cant agree more on your list about Port Aventura, Phantasialand, Europa Park and some others.
And i cant believe someone shares the exact same opinion on phantasialand as me.
The problem i see with phantasialand is a) the small space. It might be very immersive but bcs of the small space, it doesnt give room to breath, deliver its theme and to really unfold its full potential (except rookburg which looks amazing). And b) even if Taron, Black Mamba and Colorado Adventure are great rides and i also like winjas fear and force, it doesnt have a good dark ride. Not a Single one. Mouse o chocolate is ok, but i dont like shooting darkrides with glasses.
FLY is so uncomfortable for me as tall guy which doesnt let enjoy me this ride and overall it doesnt have much rides. But ppl seem to prefer 3/ 4 really good coasters rather than the whole package of ride collection, where you can spent more than one day and not be bored and find each single time new Details.
If u have more space, you have more to explore on theming. Universal, Disney and Europa Park does it better bcs they have more space. Phantasialand isnt a bad Park. Its a grear Park, but it doesnt catch me as much as Europa park or some other parks. By that: yes, Europa Park is the no 1 in Europe. The coaster arent boring and the amount of visitors per year proof that. If coaster enthusiast speak about the coaster line up, i understand that the coasters might feel a bit boring, bcs they chase the thrill. But non of the coaster is boring in EP. And the theming and dark rides tops it all. They have europes best dark rides and theming, best food and Operation. I mean Europa park has THE best Operation System. They are so damn fast, like no other park does reach this level.
The amount of Land, attractions and theming and shows is insane and you can spent trully 2-3 days there and find more to ride and see. There are even smaller hidden attractions most ppl dont even know they excist.
Voltron will be a great addition and most likely finally something for thrill seekers (even its not the fastest or highest coaster)
There are also rumors that they gonna install their rockint boats in the future and russia should get reworked and Euro Mir too. I still hope they gonna replace Euro Mir with their Xtreme Spinner. Fingers crossed 🤞
If u ever visit EP again, make sure you spent a night in one of the hotels and visit Rulantica, the huge and well themed waterpark right next to EP.

I haven’t been to many theme parks in my life, having grown up with Toverland and Efteling. While I don’t see Toverland as particularly extraordinary, I have fond memories of it from my childhood, especially with my grandmother who has sadly passed away. It always felt so safe and comforting, like my own little world. Efteling, however, remains the best theme park I’ve ever visited, despite finding it less enjoyable in recent years due to long wait times relative to the duration of the attractions. The exceptional theming is impressive, but it often means the rides are shorter. Unfortunately, it has also lost some of its childhood enchantment because I'm older now. Other notable parks I’ve enjoyed include Disneyland Paris and Phantasialand.

I don't know if it's the audience you're hearing towards too but e.g. saying a park is not worth visiting for the whole day seems crazy to me as you're paying full price... I get you're having to Sum up every park in a few seconds so it's really hard.
I don't want this comment to sound so mean, I liked how you explained your placing for every park and I do agree with a lot of points. E.g. Djurs Sommerland is such a humble park and just great.

The theming and overall feeling of this park is just stunning and I think it will stay my personal number 1. Especially with F.L.Y. and Rookburgh. Maybe it's because I know Europapark since I was a little child, so it doesn't have this feeling of unknown wonder and exploration, but Phantasialand feels like being in another world. It's a shame you didn't get to do de Vliegende Hollander. While I don't love the Efteling like others do, Vliegende Hollander still has my absolute favourite queue of all time. I'm almost disappointed when the queue is under 30 minutes because it's genuinely that good.
Phantasialand is still #1 for me. I completely agree that the park is way overcrowded. The park has exploded in popularity since the opening of FLY and it's become a chore to visit. Lines are consistently an hour or more for all their headliners, which was never the case before. The pathways are annoyingly crowded even compared to something like Europa Park which attracts even larger crowds, but has far more space to put those people in.
However, the lineup is batshit crazy. Taron is spectacular. FLY is very good. Chiapas is the best log flume in the world. River Quest is the best rapids ride in the world. Colorado Adventure is one of the best minetrain coasters in the world. Then it has amazing supporting attractions like Winja's, Talocan and Mystery Castle. It has such an incredible lineup that I can forgive its flaws. Also, I disagree about Phantasialand's operations. I've never been at the park while the operations were anything less than stellar for more or less all their attractions. They push out trains like crazy, only bested by Europa Park.

    Good Theming
The biggest negative is the Operations and the staff to force people to buy Express Pass is extortion
Also Alton Towers which I been quite a few times its got worse LIne of Coasters is good but the walking is tiring no Skyride anymore , also the operations are terrible sometimes 2 hrs waiting . The Food and Drink is expensive and the staff are average nice setting in the Forest but I would rank it 19 in Europe

I've heard good things from others, but I unfortunately didn't have a very positive experience there
