Well thank you so much for making this video it's really appreciated unfortunately my van lock has done exactly the same has done what yours did unfortunately I am now locked out of my van but I am able to get in through a window at the back of the van because sadly that was smashed a long time ago but I now have a sheet of metal over it which I can get through that way but once again thank you so much for showing us how to get these waste of space locks out.
Ok there is an easy way of getting around this problem.. at the end of the day just make Laura sleep in the van.. so when you get to your first job Laura can unlock it from inside.. good video mate
Hi matey, I've had the same problem as you, I've managed to drill the lock out and removed it, but there's a black plastic piece inside that's seems to be maybe a spindle that's just floating around in there, any idea which way it goes?? Cheers mate
Mk7 Transits all have batteries soldered in the key, reason being, you shouldn’t really need to change it ‘cause they get charged when the engine is running so theoretically you shouldn’t need to change it. And the reason the key locks but not unlock is all Ford tibbe keys will lock each other but only that key will open it, reason they stop is they get worn on the key ‘cause they’re made of chocolate
Hi I didn’t know all that thanks for filling me in, I’m not a massive Ford fan and I’m just borrowing the van while I sort out my Mercedes sprinter (rust issues) but as I’m borrowing the Ford for free I’m sorting a a few bits for my dad who owns it. Thanks for watching 🙂👍
I have a Mk 6 my neighbour has changed the barrel on mine but still doesn’t lock or unlock. He said I need the key to have a immobiliser or fob on it to work? I thought you wouldn’t need this is it’s just a barrel?
@@michaelgallagher6232 Wouldn’t have worked on this one, also bear in mind I was filming it, it would be a quick job had I have not been making a video. Did you do a video of the way you did it ?
Hate those locks - so vulnerable to picking, especially if someone has a Tibbe or Lishi tool. I upgraded mine with a Hykee lock - far more secure. With so many vulnerabilities with the Transit I had to fit rear door shields to prevent the loom wires from being cut through the door gap (right side) and I also welded plates behind known attack points and also security locks on all the doors. Look up transit security tips on RUclips if you want to address the problems. Nobody wants some slimebag stealing their tools or other property if it's a camper.
Hi yes I’ve heard about Ford locks not being the best, I’m only borrowing this van from my dad I won’t have it that long, I’m just doing a few bits on it as a thank you to my dad for lending it to me. At night it’s backed so both doors are blocked by other vehicles, but your right you’ve got to make it as difficult as possible for people to get in, thanks for watching 🙂👍
My partner has been drilling since 8am this morning 🤣 lock is pretty much out but something us holding in the last bit and he is nearly crying were hes so pissed off with it lol any tips to why the last bit seems stuck on something and won't pull out?
@@gemmachampion2375 I had the same sort of problem I just angled the drill bit to removed as much as possible so the little release tab was visible, the just tap it out with a screw driver or chisel. Has he got the inside door panel off ?
Thank you for your vidéo !
You have save my delivery week 👍👍👍

Hi Neil yes that one was a pain to sort, but drill did the job 😂 Thanks for watching 🙂👍

Need 2 twist anticlockwise after pushing button in
The key is badly worn just get a locksmith to cut you a new key that will solve your problem.
It would cost as much as the new lock, I think it was much better to replace the lock along with a new key.
