Speaking for myself, i like to drain the oil out of old oil filters, throw in some degreaser, shake the crap out of it and rinse it out and then take it to a metal recycler. It's a bit more time, but better for the environment and you can get some dollars back.
Yes, let me take an afternoon, clean up a slimy oil can, sand it, fabricate a special bolt and fashion a drum sander I can probably buy at Harbor Freight or Home Depot for cheap. A waste of five minutes of my life. What's the purpose of these videos? to demonstrate people's mechanical skills?
