And also I ask you to evaluate the idea and was there any point in bothering so much?

This is not a contest of the world's greatest welding cart. Nor does it mean this guy couldn't afford to just buy one.
He looked at the brake rotor and saw the perfect base for his gas bottle and the rest of it evolved from there. I love the style and design like the angled supports.
It is an exercise in creativity that 'oatmeal' brains can't see.

My welding cart started its life as a 2 drawer filing cabinet. Installed a plywood base and made room for my Argon bottle. Installed large 4 inch casters from Harbor Freight. Added places for the welding cable storage, and now I have 2 drawers. One for my aluminum spool gun, and another for my extra spool of 0.030 welding wire. I bought the filling cabinet from a thrift store for $10. I use it all of the time. My welding cables on one side, and my 30' power cable on the other.

Even though I have a welders cart already, that might be a better one with the drawers etc..

@@kw57rx8dr.9 You will like it, trust me. The stuff that you buy is, most of the time anyway, sort of useful. I usually end up modifying it anyway. I like to build things, but that is just me. I am also cheap. Even saying that, the stuff that I build is far stronger than anything that you can buy. At least that is my experience. My Woman calls me the heavy duty guy. She likes light and flimsy. LOL I needed some kitchen scissors the other day, and you should see what I bought. They work very well. She even admitted that they were much better than the cheap ones that she had.

@@eugenejulson8742 I have 3 heavy duty filling cabinets. The 2 that are upstairs in my shop just hold some of my old year books, and some of my old files. I go up there and look for forgotten information. My memory is not what it use to be, but I remember where the information is.
The other one is in my 36 by 36 shop, and one drawer holds my special tools, and two drawers hold all of my shop manuals for my vehicles, and toys. They last drawer holds miscellaneous stuff that a mechanic collects over the years. Sometimes if I can't find something, which happens a lot now days, I will check that misc drawer. Sometimes what I was searching is in that drawer, sometimes it is not.
I had a dirt bike up until 2 months ago when I sold it. I had an extra rear sprocket that I was going to give the new owner, and I could not find it. I know that I will find where I put it some day, but that day has not showed up yet. It is soooooooo frustrating!!!!!! I am 77 years old, and my memory is not what it use to be. At least I know where home is. A couple months ago the Police found and elderly woman wandering around. She did not know where her house was. No I D no clues. nice if u have nothing but smooth surfaces. Get as much as a 1/8th inch pebble and those little front wheels stop. Now me I am a framer. My shop has that flatness but when a break something that I now cant move the shop has to come to it. For this I have a little trailer I put behind my BX23S. It has on it everything I might need for the job b/c i load it for the job. Welder being heavy sets on back while two 100Ah 48V batteries set in front. The rest goes between. It is only 3 ft wide and 4 ft lang with 18in sides. The tires make it another 24 inches wide. 22" turf tiers so that if the little Kubota can make it the little thing is not going to hold it back. But yes the next time I have an hr or 2 I will build me one of those. It may not be till Feb as winter is when we farmers do such things to keep our 15 hr days going.

    Another great project.
I have two brake rotors laying in the shop floor next to the door that I look at every day. Now I have a use for one of them.

Built a welding cart myself today. Didnt use a rotor but my tanks are much larger. I did build it from scrap materials, repurposed wheels and casters. I have a few details to finish tomorrow. But its holding the new welder. Great job.
