Some interesting ideas, here. The pot lid as a window to the fire box is something I never thought of. The fire box door would require a better seal if used in any confined space. I read a comment criticizing the stove pipe, yet, the diameter seems reasonable. Thanks for the video!

There could be some safety improvements,but I could see using this at a camp . It could be sealed better at the door,and that glass is questionable,stove could reach temperatures higher than the glass is rated for. But over all I think it's very cool and well fabricated .
Could you put some output fins on the stack to get more heat in the room? I did this with my central air system and the laundry room went up by 3 degrees and there are no vents in there.
I still use corded grinders, and have several as it's quicker to go back and forth between cutting and grinding. It looks like a nice stove, but I personally would have gone about it a bit differently. I would want it with legs, standing on the floor...

You’re right to be cautious! Some coatings or metals may release toxins when heated. Proper ventilation and using non-toxic materials are key for safety.
Maybe ad a grating inside of the stove to place the wood onto and a flu onto the chimney for better heating , other than that it looks and works good .
Unfortunately, like so many on RUclips, this is a 'how NOT to'. Stoves need a baffle plate. The stove will produce more useful heat and not waste wood just to heat the sky throught chimney losses.

@ I did production work for a major Air Compressor company for 38 years. Welded 26 of them. This wouldn’t cut it. If I had welded like that, it would have fallen apart before it hit the production line!

@@brianniegemann4788 A big wrench and a long pipe stuck through the handle so the tank won't turn. Stand on the pipe. If necessary, put a pipe on the handle of the wrench or pipe wrench for leverage.
@brianniegemann4788 leverage is what you need. The long pipe to hold the tank, have somebody stand on it maybe 2 people. Then a long pipe on wrench to give more leverage, pull on it at the end of the pipe.
Good idea! Always room for improvement but with a flat rock or the like to regulate the stove pipe should be a sufficient camp stove and cook top. Light from the front adds to ambiance without the risk of starting an unwanted fire in the woods. Probably an excellent design for the mouth of a cave or a hillside camp structure. Basically regulate air like a bbq grill......... Infact if you cut slits on half of that cook top and make a small lid it would be a great little grill for a couple burgers or some franks .

The only problem I see is that if it is not underwriter approved your home fire insurance is probably void. One other thing is that any new stove design do not have dampers nor do they recommend them. We have a modern design fireplace (insert style) no damper but it provides serious heat.
I claim foul! The heater/cooker is great. However I find fault with the mounting. The bolts you pounded in with the hammer are not the same as the ones you show puting the nuts on while mounting it. Attention to detail. So I must ask, with one falsification what others are we not privy to?

The residue left in an old propane tank can be toxic. Don't want to flush with a garden hose. Have to be careful is all.

My only fault would be you should have welded a backing flange to the stove to seal the door, other wise it is a well made and designed stove

Ingenious, few problems though, it’s illegal in the Uk to dispose of old gas cylinders, and two, I forget, everyone owns a welding machine.

That is what the damper in the chimney is for. A baffle inside the stove just obstructs the draft when trying to get the stove lit.

Tacking reduces warping on steel that thin. Go for it and you have a mess.

I do have one question; how did you get the valve body off the tank? I have one that l want to recycle.
Great question! I used a wrench to carefully loosen the valve body. Make sure the tank is completely empty first!
