I have the autel mk808bt pro and.need to code some transit injectors hopefully it will do the job , is yours the same model as mine ? Mk808 bt pro , thanks
Aslong as you know which cylinder is classed as cylinder 1 and which is classed as cylinder 4 then its all very straight forward, its when they count cylinder 1 as the flywheel side that it can catch you out.
hi Rob i did a transit custom poor running checked injector codes in ecu to codes on the injector all different reset the ecu to match injectors it run like a bucket of crap let it do auto pilot learn the codes went back to what they was. ended up having the injectors rebuilt had all four done for the cost of the price of a new ONEi .then done a auto pilot learn for the van to set its self to the best code. what a difference that made to the performance
Compensation codes. Engineering tolerances. No 2 injectors are exactly the same. For fuel efficiency and smoother running, the ECU has to be adjusted fractionally to inject on point. By evening out and regulating the injectors. This would be measured at the factory where the injectors were made, and stamped on the injector.
Hi Rob and Chris. I have a question if you can answer it? Why are the injectors coded in the first place? Is it so " Joe Public" wont be able to do the job themselves so the garage make money, or is it somthing to do with the immobiliser system on the vehicle? Have a great week 👍
In simple terms injectors vary from injector to injector (assume good here, faulty is totally different). This difference could be micro amounts of fuel delivered for a given injection duration. The purpose of programming the injectors is so that the ecu can compensate if necessary for the injector fitted. So if an injector sprayed more than optimal for a given duration, the ecu would adjust the duration the injector sprayed for to make it optimal. Even if not programmed though the engine should still run and you wouldn't notice any different.
It's actually for calibration. Each injector has to precisely deliver the right amount of fuel that the ECU expects it to or otherwise the engine running could be affected. (Most likely the emissions would be out, it'll still mostly run ok, but hey). The code tells the ECU what actual value the injector delivered when tested at manufacture.
That autel is such a nice looking piece of kit. What model is it? Do you have and links where you can make a bit back if i buy one? Not bothered about a discount, but it would be great if you lads could get something out of it.
So my brothers van had a injector go down and we replaced it. But the van just seems to have a lack of go. We didnt programme it in. Is this why? Its a 2007 ford transit. Great vid by the way.
Nice look in to it, I’ve had to do it on a Volvo and a few other diesel cars myself, it doesn’t make alot of sense to me why the ecu needs to know the codes for them since they are for the engine they are installed in but hey ho it’s just how it’s done these days.
To ensure optimum fuel metering, the ECM must be informed of a change of injector through the input of a 16-digit identification number. Inside the hydraulic servo system there are various restrictions with extremely small diameters, which have specific manufacturing tolerances. These manufacturing tolerances are given as part of the identification number, which is located on the housing of the fuel injector.
Nice info. You don't actually have to program them to work, however for optimal running it is best to do so. For people who don't have expensive diagnostic machines, there is software called fsuper which can be had for little money (get the obd adapter with it) that allows you to do Ford coding 👍
"Into the diagnostic machine; that just turns it'self off randomly" Funny you should say that. I work with Autel (Sevadis) fitting and fixing their EV Chargers, they also have a habit of turning them self off with no good reason
I was in IT for 40 years, glad to get out, seems like mechanics need a degree in IT, problem is you have two types of mechanic's now; Chris, old school and Rob, a bit more progressive!
Did you see the video with the Hybrid that Rob and Chris had to get someone to diagnose / fix? That was more IT and electronics than mechanical stuff for sure ! Amazing video to watch to show the differences between "normal" and electric (or Hybrid) cars.
Blimey, this is a first for me I feel so old, so what you're saying is , this is a computer in a computer,in a computer old guys like me are totally Baffled / Lost / Confused Just how the car makers Wanted.....l think l need a Sit-down & a Whiskey or two to recover, bring back the minis , escort , Cortina ☹️☹️☹️☹️😮😮😮😮🙄🙄
Didn't really understand the point of this video. When the new injectors were first fitted presumably there is an enter coding screen, an alpha-numeric keypad, and a "write to ECU" option. This is what I expected to see but didn't.

Cant believe the faff you have to do to a modern engine, and does it add up to more reliability/fuel economy. injectors are not always reliable and costly to replace i often wonder how we drove a car or van without all this, because we did. mind you we were not as tight on emissions as we are now but i do wonder what an engine bay full of electronics does to a wallet.
Forklift and lorry drivers are so heavy handed.the amount of times I have brought a car from copart and there’s more damage than what was there when I brought the car 😡

This video is not in our usual schedule and is clearly a short how to. Nothing in our format has changed and it’s impossible to rush any videos as some take days to record
What a great and simple explanation. Thanks a lot, mate
As Rob & Chris would say "Every day's a school day!"
Rob & Chris, thank you so much. I’ve always wondered how that was done. These instruction videos are brilliant.
Thanks for amazing videos iwant to ask wich scantoole u use ? Thanks
You have got to love a Sunday bonus video. 👍
It’s a very short how to 👍
@@sruk It doesn't matter if it's short or long any content from you and Chris is good content, it's appreciated. 👍

Great explanatory video Rob. These videos are of huge help to the average DIY mechanic.
Well done. And in my case...who knew lol.
Cheers, Bob
Nice phonetics it does get people confused if to program or not thanks for the video
As usual, a pro every time!! All my jobs go wrong several times and then finally it works out👍👍

thankyou Rob,,,have a good week,👍👍
It's so much more fun watching you doing things like this😂
Blimey Rob keeping me awake on a Sunday evening....good stuff mate! Have a good week.👍
Thank you for the video Rob. I bet most of the ones asking if you programed them don't know what the programming is for 😅.
Good informative video Rob,that new engine run as sweet as a nut. That van will go out the door very soon.
That was a nice Brucey Bonus. Thank you for this video. Very interesting. Cheers
Nice 1 Rob thank u 4 takin the time 2 show us what u done top lads 👍👍👍👍
Great instructional video Rob, I am sure it will help many people out with there vehicles 👍🇬🇧😎

Does it not need to carry out a pilot learn after programing ?
a big thank you to rob for my lottery numbers for Saturday if i win i will look after you and Chris.
Thanks for that video Rob, very interesting, well explained, another bit of knowledge!👍🇮🇪
Thanks mate yet another great video the machine is very good 👍👍

Very informative video Rob...Deffo be useful for a few folk.
Swiss watch. Bosh bash bosh :) love it
wow how times have changed thanks Rob
Hi Rod & Chris . Silly question do I have to reprogram my injectors if Iv put a new engine in ? Just it won’t start?
Thanks John

I’ll have to get back to you bud as I honestly can’t remember
Looks like a Autel MK808BT, there is also a non Bluetooth version MK808.
Do you have to programme a 15 plate transit custom fuel injector, fuel pump and fuel pressure sensor?😊
So my brothers van had a injector go down and we replaced it. But the van just seems to have a lack of go. We didnt programme it in. Is this why? Its a 2007 ford transit.

Well done Rob and Chris a great video guys
Hello Rob, interesting video, always handy to know with the reader.

Can I ask what model autel diagnostic you use please rob ?
Nice one Rob !👍👍👏👏
nice one lads .. sunday treat
Rob and Chris do you remember 20 years ago the snap on scan tool diagnostic they were bigger than the one your using they were around £6000 to buy new
So easy, thanks for that one 😊

Who does the gorgeous little camper van belong to rob pal
I missed that Rob, can you do it again?
Rob Chris
We have a transit and injectors at the moment, no codes on the injectors, is that possible.
If it’s a older transit
Great video, do you have a link and model for your Autel, Thanks.
I’ll put it in one of next week’s videos
Good video
nice one rob
Hi Rob. Would you please message me the details of the guy who builds the Transit engines for you?
What autel is that please ??
