Even though Martin has lost me taking too long with the final books, but the one thing that would bring me back is successfully pulling off Jaime’s redemption in a significant way.
The fact that Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (The actor who played Jamie Lannister.) had arguments with D & D about their bizarre stupid ideas for the way the character is presented and even the conclusion itself. You know you really Fuck up badly.
D&D didn’t understand the source material at all… they had semi decent writers who were able to adapt a great series of books to the screen… unfortunately once they ran out of source material they had nothing else to rely upon but themselves and they failed miserably…
Honestly, the "innocent or otherwise" line isn't terrible in and of itself. If tyrion had retorted to call out jaimes lie and taken the scene in that direction it could've still worked. Just can't treat the line as fact
I mean... it may not be the arc you like.. but it's a damn realistic one. We all want our fictional characters to have this great redemption arc these days and have character development when some of the best stories don't have those. Some characters are just what they are. Some redemptions don't work. I think this was one of the few things they did right as Cersei was and always will be his weakness 🤷🏻♂️
D&D DIDN’T understand Jaime, even in season 1. In the early seasons, they were just following the books VERY closely for the most part. Once they abandoned books 4 & 5 (A Feast for Crows and A Dance with Dragons), all bets were off. Also, GRRM was still involved through season 4. After that, he was out of the loop.
Jaime and Sansa are my favorite characters, seeing them and all other characters become jokes was so sad. Jaime's stupid lines towards the end really let the character down. Seeing him be burned by the people he saved, a bitter man, grow to accept that he did a good thing by king slaying and try to own that was wonderful. And then they crapped on it 😂
Jaime could've had a redemption arc to rival Zuko's man. We could've had it all :(
Totally agreed with you!

Tbf, I felt he wasn't sincere at all when he said that line. Even Tyrion tells him so

Season 8 was bad on purpose, I believe
Ofc it was
Dont attribute to malice what you could attribute to stupidity lol
@@lordcumulon In this case, I think it can be both. D&D got cancelled before cancelling became a thing ;) And they deserved it.
@@Sab_MJsMama yeah im glad they didnt get to touch star wars although that is pretty sucky now without their assistance
They never understood Jaime GRRm was the show runner for the first three seasons.
He was never the show runner. But he was more involved for the first 4 seasons, then he left.

You might wanna change the tone of your voice. It's hard to focus.
