And that’s the difference between Joffrey and Ramsay. Joffrey is an insufferable twat but he’s very fun to watch thanks to his perpetual incompetence. Seeing him being pathetic is laughable. Plus there were hints that he had a potential to be good if he wasn’t raised by Cersei and Tywin. Meanwhile, Ramsay is not only evil but also competent af and he could do things that Joffrey didn’t have a stomach to do (raping Sansa in the show/ Jeyne Poole in the books) plus he has zero hint of goodness so his screen presence is pure malevolence.
The show has so many “bad guys who are one step ahead” it gets boring. Joffrey was always 4 steps behind and protected only by privilege which created such interesting interactions with other characters.
Jack Gleeson said his performance was based on Joaquin Phoenix's Commodus from Gladiator. That was actually the first character who came to mind for me.
Yeah at least Joffrey had the decency to kill his victims. He only kept Sansa alive because he was told he had to. Ramsey liked to keep them alive as long as possible so they can suffer.
The show never recovered from losing Joffrey, he was just so much fun to hate.

I never hated him. Because I liked him so much

Joffrey is sooooo great! And Jack Gleeson's performance is seriously award worthy.
GREAT ACTOR, GREAT VILLAIN
“and now i’ve struck a king, DID MY HANDS FALL FROM MY WRIST” this scene solidified tyrion as my fave all those years ago
Ramsey has more redeeming qualities than joffrey? Nah, gotta disagree.
Joffrey never raped Margaery.
Ramsay would have raped Margaery in the first few hours.
Same, I agree

(on the tv show) Joffrey was a spoiled coward, Ramsay at least fights.
These vids are so good
Wait, did you use the Oblivion soundtrack? Oh man suddenly the idea of reading the books listening to that sounds lovely
