I think Tyrion slapping Joffrey was extra satisfied because a lot of us have been to that crash out point before. Usually at work. Where you're under so much stress and pressure, maybe even hungry and sleep deprived AND on top of all that you're dealing with an asshole boss or co-worker. They say or do one thing that sends you over the edge and suddenly your frustration turns to blind rage and you just don't care about the consequences anymore. You'll take getting fired and/or sent to jail (or in Tyrion's case, possibly executed) over having to suppress your spite for them for one more second. Very relatable.
Definitely the author's favorite. George has implied before that he could spend an entire writing day just on getting Tyrion's "witticisms" right. His show character suffered more than most as soon as it ran past the books.
Great video! I agree that the 4th season is the best GOT season and maybe the best season in American Television ever. I only have one point to make: the conversation between Tyrion and Jaime should've gone the same as the book. They whitewashed Jaime because they didn't want to lose their relationship, because is a very compeling one, but I would argue Tyrion's state of mind in the fifth book only makes sense if that conversation goes exactly as it went. Up until that point, Tyrion believed Jaime was the only person in the family he could ever trust but, after that, not only he found out that his first wife was probably the only woman that has ever loved him for what he was, but that Jaime contributed to a lie that resulted in him being robbed his only chance at happiness. So his hate for his family goes another level ONLY because of that conversation, and it justifies his attempt on allying Daenerys: he just wants to see all Lanisters die now. His brother and even he's brother's children. It doesn't matter anymore. So I firmly believe that his character's stagnation in fifth season onwards is due to this decision taken in season 4. Is my only nitpick in the season. Anyway, congratulations again for the great videos.
I really don't like how they changed Shae in the show. She's supposed to be a whore who just wants the money and status, and doesn't give a shit about him. That adds to Tyrion's complexity in the books. He keeps telling himself over and over again that he's a fool and she doesn't really like him, but he keeps wanting to fall for that feeling. When he kills her, it's a cold-blooded murder. She just did what she was forced to do. She was innocent and scared. Tyrion chooses to become the monster. It's so much better.
Hey! This is another bad change from the books in my opinion. It makes more sense with who he becomes in the fifth book and also it makes sense that he would kill her because he was falling for a prostitute who lied about loving him, whilest his first wife truly loved him, but he was lied to about her being a whore. So like a great man once said: "It's like poetry, it rhymes."
I can’t tell you how impressed I am that you made this video on an old iPhone I thought making videos like this you’d need a desktop and all kinds of equipment and software Very impressive

I wouldn't call that a nitpick. It's a drastic change to his character and trajectory.
6:54 I'd pick moustache man. He may look at me as subhuman, but he likely has better table manners.
