They sound great. Although the left & right thresholds on the Vari-Mu are *way* off. As it's in link mode (which links the detector side chain not the controls) it might explain why it sounds like it's "pulling" so much. (2:53)

The contrast between the silver and blue Alloy looks awesome and I would like to buy it for my HiFi & studio stuff ( Massiv passiv, steelhead phono, jumbo shrimp )

I don't understand, why Elop+ works like an imager that makes everything sounds stereo, especially obvious on bass and vocal. I'm tempted to get one

Can you share what tubes were in the vari mu unit? Were you using hp filter mode? This does make a big difference in performance.

That was a stock Variable Mu unit with the 5670 input tubes, (not the TBAR mod).
