Depends on each engineer's goals, eh? If you want more color, go for the Variable Mu with its all-tube signal path and transformer coupled ins and outs. For those folks who don't want all of that character, or require a unit that is really clean, then the Nu Mu is ready to serve those demands.

I find it perfect for Mastering, clean modern compression with just the right amount of hi end lift and openness with a solid stereo image.
