Just got word that mine has arrived at my pro audio dealer here in Toronto. Very excited! T Bar and M/S options will be great to dig in to; can't wait to hear it paired with my Stereo Pultec! Cheers, guys!
The best audio company in the world. And she is a genius. But Manley comes with a big drawback…once you buy their products you have no more reasons to buy other brands.
Maybe it's because I was raised in the 60ies and 70ies my ears were trained on the sound of tubes, I have to admit that when many years ago I found the devices Manley produce it was like finding the key to what I wanted to hear. Love the VariMu, (question: is the mastering version less noisy than the "normal" one or is the difference only the repeatability of the settings? My MassivePassiveMasteringV. produces significantly less noise)
Thanks for the lovely comments! 💙 The gain structure of the Regular vs. Mastering Massivos are indeed different which results in different noise performance between the two units. The gain structures of the regular vs. Mastering Variable Mu units are exactly the same so the noise performances will be identical.
