      I was literally about to comment. I used this stuff on a wood table I finished with some polyacrylic. It worked out so well haha. I work at an advance auto and I sell this stuff to people constantly. About 70% of them use it on everything that's not a car more often. Tables. Old tools. You name it haha. @@jankindl915 You ever compounded a car before? Let's say you bought yourself a really nice 4 year old keeper that the previous owner never took care of. You go ahead and applied a m105 and finished off with a m205 then a nice wax. You take it to the car wash like most everyone does then low and behold it's full of scratches. What do you do now? Compound it again? In most cases the least abrasive method will always be the best option if you plan to keep the car for a long time.

    I'm the biggest asshole when it comes to reviewing a product. I used it on a 6-year-old dark blue Ford pickup truck that sits outside in the scalding hot Texas sun exposed to approximately 55 inches of rain each year and 90 to not at all unusual 100 degree days. I had water spots on top of water spots. I once tried a clay bar and yeah it worked to some degree but it would have taken a ridiculously long time to do the entire vehicle. I literally think it would have taken several days assuming my hands could hold up to that much work. Watched your video, bought a cheap $45 buffer, and gave it a try. Amazing product. Got every last water stain out. I was 100% pleased with the results! Thanks for posting this video!

      You’re very welcome! Thanks for watching 👍🏻, don’t forget to give it some wax to protect the work. Also, there is a new product by turtle wax, it’s called “one and done graphene compound” I detailed a black Mercedes with it (video is on the channel) and it’s superb, in my opinion it is superior to the meguiars stuff as it has no fillers👍🏻

    Just did "water spot removal" on my Jeep JK with Meguiars Ultimate Compound. I was able to remove OLD water spots BY HAND, (don't have one of those electric thing-ama-jigs")! This compound worked perfectly and left the paint looking shiny and new! I have watched a few RUclips videos comparing different chemical solutions for removing water spots, but none of them included this stuff! It works by hand, well enough, but I suggest getting an electric polisher.

Will that be ok or is it necessary to use polish after compounding?

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  2 года назад +1

      You’re very welcome, thanks for watching! So….if you’ve never protected/detailed it before, I’d start out by giving it a proper wash with a non wax based shampoo (meguiars do a good one), then use a clay bar to remove any really stuck on contaminants (I have a video on how to use one), dry the car down then use the compound to remove the swirls etc then yes, you can just put a protective coat over top. Best practice would be to use a polish after the compound to remove the final 1% of super light swirls caused by the compound, but it’s not necessary unless it’s a show car standard you’re looking for.
      Another incredible compound (again, have a video using it on an old Mercedes’) is turtle wax “one&done” graphene compound which acts as both a compound and polish 👍🏻
      Hope that helps 😃

    • @DaveRebuilds

      You typically do 4-5 passes with the machine on each area before wiping the product off, inspect the area and decide whether to do the area again or move to the next area.

    Quick Question if anyone can help. My paint is barely at the point for compound. I'm waiting until summer is over and using the ultimate compound then polish. I live in an apartment complex so using my buffer comfortably is almost impossible. Since my paint isn't trashed can I use the compound by hand? Or am I wasting my time and need to find a way to use the buffer? To save time one way or the other isn't my concern. The results are all I care about. Thanks in advance

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  3 года назад

      Hi, sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. So yeah, you can do it by hand, the results might not be quite as good but you will def get a good result either way! If you are looking for a fantastic polish, I did a video where I detailed a Mercedes eclass using turtle wax new “one and done” graphene compound, the result was incredible and actually better than the meguiars compound if you want an alternative? Again, it can be applied by hand or polisher! Hope that helps 😃👍🏻

    • @DaveRebuilds
      @DaveRebuilds  2 года назад

      Hi, sorry I didn’t respond sooner! Yes you can compound the car with claying although it will take longer to get a good result as the clay will remove a lot more of the more “stuck on” contaminants and it will clog your pad quicker. Yes, you can also polish the car without compounding first. Compound is more to be used for paint correction 👍🏻

      So it just depends on whether the scratches are removed or not. I would typically give an area 4-5 passes with the DA polisher, wipe away the polish, then use an IPA (panel wipe) to rub down the area. If the scratches/swirls are removed, I move on to the next section 👍🏻
