Have to say lads, your Ultimate Compound and Polish are incredible products. I had a horrendously oxidised bonnet on a car I bought and I was getting told from everyone that it was beyond repair and needed a respray. Two passes with Ultimate Compound and one pass with Ultimate Polish on a DA and it was like brand new.
I have a practically new car. When I was in the garage I noticed the scratches in my clearcoat and that is what brought me here. I wish I had the time to do all this step by step process to clean up my car.
I am so excited, I just ordered my Clay Bar Kit, Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish and Gold Class Carnauba Plus Premium Liquid Wax for my black mk7 Golf GTI to prep it for a show and I have been watching this Detailing 101 series for hours :')...I can't wait to see the results!
This stuff is legit. Especially for how inexpensive it is. I used the ultimate compound on my black 4runner which honestly looked pretty weathered and hazy and it came out absolutely shining. Seriously, my dad is a car guy and has polished a few cars in his day and he was blown away at the difference, it looked like a different vehicle.
I'm so glad that I found your 'how to' videos!! Thank you so much! I was always too reluctant to detail my our vehicles. But I've followed your advice and videos to the letter and have learnt so much. Our cars all have a long lasting showroom finish now that lasts and follow up washing and detailing is a pleasure. Thank you!
Love your work guys! Been detailing as a hobbyist for about 15 years now using Megs from the very beginning. I, as most people began at the local shops just looking over products and seeing that Meguiar’s name, I knew I was getting a great product at a fair price. Watching you from the state of Illinois in the USA, this is quality content, thanks guys!!
Using this on my nighthawk black CTR, really does bring out the colour of the paint. You can see the glistening purple/midnight blue flakes without looking closely, just passing by you can see the colours popping out. Amazing stuff.
Fudge how is it for the swirl marks? I have the same car and I’m checking out videos before I attempt it! Looking forward to seeing the blue flakes, the owner before me definitely used automated car washes.
@@Suspicious0ne Holy shit, I actually played the video using the speakers in my laptop and the audio was just coming from one side hahaha! Guess I'll be putting in my right earbud

Thanks guys after watching your video it gave me the confidence to finally attempt a full detail on my car. Your tutorials are brilliant. Keep up the good work!!
@@Ej-en2lz done it all with the machine, low speed on the corners. Just take your time, side panels are difficult todo, machine just wants to fly away. Good luck mate!👍🏽👍🏽
Not a bad beginner video, however you should mention that either you must clean the pads after 2-3 panels or use multiple pads as they will get clogged up.
Hi..I had a d/a for Christmas and brought the ultimate compound and the clay bar ready to do my car..only thing I struggle with is a place to do it..didn't really want to do it outside, and be half way through lol..I'll soon find somewhere...keep up the videos..they are ace Mondeo ice white paint
You could always do the car in sections. Maybe the Hood, roof, and deck lid first. Then the drivers side, then the passenger side. Finish up with the front and rear bumpers. Breaking it up into sections will be your best bet if you don't have a good place to work.
Hi greetings from Colombia. I met A lot of meguiars products and i am so satisfied. It's an excellent quality. And your videos are awesome. Thanks for teach and share knowledge.
Great videos guys. The simple and clear instructions are great. I know it's not normally part of the Meguiars arsenal, but can you guys do a video on how to use a Rotary buffer? You have obviously covered the DA polisher, but some details on how to use a rotary buffer would be great!
Great videos guys. Just spent the last HR watching all stages and got some new things to try. Bought my first bottles of compound and polish today.... Seriously considering a DA now... Top work!
I tried ultimate compound. It certainly removed the dullness hazeing & lite oxidation & bought up a brilliant shine no question but it didnt remove the scratches
I don’t have a dual action polisher but just a normal polisher that I bought. And there is so many colours of pad that it came with My question is 1) which colour pad should I use for the compound, polish & wax? 2) Why r u keep on repeating that u don’t need to be worried when using machine with compound? I have never b4 done this and want to make my car glossy and remove the marks, but I want to do it myself with Meguiar products and not from shop. So if u can give tips it would really be helpful and also what other product can u recommend to give my black car a strong mirror shine.
So with our machine we have the red disc for compounding, yellow for polishing and black for waxing. With our machine polishers it's incredibly easy to use. All we would say is just make sure the DA is constantly moving. If kept in one place it can cause a lot of heat build up.
If you can't position the machine flat on the panel due to obstacles (for example the area between the door hand and the window, or areas on the bumper), does that mean you should avoid using the machine entirely and apply manually by hand? Or is it ok to use the tip of the pad to get to hard-to-reach areas? Never used a machine before and I'm a bit nervous to ruin the surface.
I have heard so many different answers to this question. How many pads do you have to use for each stage? Would you give some guidance on this? Can you do it with just one? Or do you need multiple for a whole car? Thanks!
I love you’re videos theyre very teachable for us as beginners thanks alot for really good advices and keep it up bro and I have a question I have 3M vinyl in front of my car is compuinding polishing and ceramic coaring will destroy or make it peel off
I noticed that you used the compound on the roof of your car. It looks like you have a moon roof, which is glass. Did you go over it like you did the metal surfaces? Does it work on that glass as well or does it make any difference one way or another?
great video guys, quick question how does one decide on the Ultimate compound vs the DA Microfiber Correction Compound vs the Mirror Glaze Swirl Remover 2.0? is one product harsher than the other?
Good video, however in your 'Top 10 don'ts with DA polishing' video it says Don't start and stop the machine whilst on the paintwork, but the guy in this video does exactly that.
Not every car will have a haze after compounding. You usually see this if the cars paint is quite soft. but if you are compounding you will want to protect afterwards.
Great vid....The concern I have is that yes it removes swirls and scratches well but leaves behind that haze. Polish will shine it right up but when the polish wears down it seems as though the haze will still be there?
If there is any hazing the Ultimate Polish will remove that haze. If you then use a wax to protect the hard work and you've done then you should be good to go.
How much of a difference in results would i get doing the compound, polish, and wax by hand instead of the machine? Would it remove swirls just as easy by hand without the machine and different pads?
I always use Ultimate Compound and its great.. recently I used it on a black car, the scratches have gone but I am now left with burring marks (only visible under direct sunlight) any idea where I have gone wrong?
CHRISTMAS is coming up and my shopping lists is going to be fat!! with just detailing stuff, love the videos just wondering is it the same process on the bumpers, when polishing?
A shame no one replied. I’ll give an answer from my personal and limited knowledge. Swirl marks can appear again after a few days if you didn’t get the swirls out correctly, if the swirls appear back days later, that means the paint got too hot and also filled in the swirl marks with the shine from the compound. So make sure you do it right, the second is if you hand wash it a lot the swirls will come back, therefore wash with a hose, a pressure washer, get all the dirt off then dry with a microfibres towel, but don’t press the towel against the paint, let is more so glide across
Good video, great series! It looks easy working on the big panels, but what about the small areas with more bents and curves? It is nice to have beginners guide, but they are the ones who can get easily in trouble when they do not have an idea how to tackle the curves and the edges where the paint is thinner. Try to show the complete process from start to finish. If you are a prof detailer, you would have an expensive 1 inch air polisher, but that's not the case with home detailers. How to tackle the small areas (under the door handles for example) should be the next video I guess? Keep up the good work. Aaand glass polishing video, I am working on my e36 glass headlights in the near future, sooo show me your wisdoom 😁
Hey guys Quick question I bought packet of applicator. I have two kinds I have terry and microfiber pads . Which one should I used for ultimate meguiars compound ?

I know that you should lubricate the pad but not gonna lie that stuff is expensive great but expensive so I try to use enough but not to much so it lasts long love the stuff never going back my 205 is shiny as hell
Hi, noticed you used the brown pad for the polishing stage? Is there any reason for using the more aggressive pad when a polish doesn’t have any cutting capability’s ?
I used ultimate compound, followed by ultimate polish and finished with ultimate liquid wax using their DA. The results were truly stunning, not just saying that, car looks amazing for it.
Can you use the compound on small areas like around the door handles or on the roof, on scratches with a pad? or do you have to do the hole car, once you use it?
That part where you set the speed to 2 to spread the compound and switching it later on to higher speed to get the job done, can you use it or is it applicable on wax?
Can you just use a normal hand Applicator Pad rather then the machine? because the machine itself cost a lot of money. and how often would you use the compound?
My question would be with regards my father's 1989 Mercedes 300se. It is in a metallic smoke silver and I was just wondering if the compound would remove any protective layer that is currently on top of that paint? In other words was it two stage paint back then?
If there was colour transfer on the pad then it would mean the car doesn't have a clear coat. This isn't an issue however as the Ultimate Compound revives faded or dull paint. see our Day In The Bay with the MK1 Golf. ruclips.net/video/I3B4bMYRLgU/видео.html

For best results absolutely. You don't want to be working any tar into the paint further.
If you can’t afford the machine and can only do by hand is compound as good will it work as well? Or is there no much point doing it by hand ?
Tim Bradley no point you won’t get results as advertised. I bought a DA polisher today for this reason.

Yes we wash the pads after each detail. 40-60 degrees with normal washing detergents. No softeners or conditioners. Then leave to air dry.
