Streaming has screwed up traditional television viewing so bad, we've looped back all the way around to antenna television getting all-encompassing networks 😅
Greed destroyed streaming. You need a schedule so people can enjoy so much content.
Funny how that works.
@ShaneJackson1985 go away troll. You're not relevant
It's like a snake eating it's tail
@ShaneJackson1985 aren't you a. Lil old to be a troll😂😂

Simpsons Homer
That has to at least be Tripple Platinum by now 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
It's funny; back in the day, when I was a kid and MeTV was TV Land, I thought it was just a channel for old people, but this is a goddamn power move. "Oh? Cartoon Network failed its mandate to provide both modern and classic cartoons? Well don't you worry, sonny, Grandad has ya covered!"
I no longer have cable, can't afford it. Is TV LAND still on? I remember they used to show old shows even had "THE TV LAND AWARDS SHOW. I just remember the actor who played Jack Tripper on 3 company was the first host. My cable comp. was slow in picking up TV LAND. As well as Cartoon Network, by time they did all the classic cartoons had Moved to Boomerang and C.N. was the place for cartoons THEY had created. Last time I saw BOOMERANG, it was a dumping ground for the old C.N. created cartoons. 😝
This is like Cartoon network when we were kids.
excally
Finally my childhood is coming back. I grew up on most of these.
I've actually seen almost every one of them mentioned because being 39 they had them on a lot of different channels before cartoon network
Feels good seeing them again
@@unknownwolf1402 me too so excited
Yay. A new Classic Cartoon Channel.
On regular antenna 📡 TV no less
i agree i cann't wait
At least you don't have to pay for it like Boomerang and Cartoon Network.
@@josephclegg3562 thats the good thang
MeTV is basically like tubi they are just throwing all the old school stuff out there that don't even want it on their streaming services they want to push new content. Which is better for all of us we get our nostalgia for free 😊
I hope MeTV Toons has a Action cartoon block and that they also get Swat Kats, Centurions, Space Ghost/ Dino Boy, Galaxy Trio, Birdman, Pirates of Dark Water and the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest.
They do have the original Johnny Quest and Gobots as a start, hopefully more action cartoons too.
Great idea! Those were all shows that helped defined our childhoods back then and still resonate with us today.
I will like them get Original Dragon Ball Z not Kai and Dragon Ball Original Series
Tarzan Lord of the Jungle
Maybe they can get the different Mario Cartoons as well
I'm so glad that this is happening because today's Cartoon Network...... SUCKS
Wahoo!!!Thank you, antenna television....... I'm so proud that I don't have to pay to see the classic toons!!!!
$300 a month......As if!!!
I remember Cartoon Network used to have a cartoon show where they told a bit of history about the shorts before they play them. Would like for something like that to come back.
Toon in with Me (on MeTV) does that! It’s a segment in the mornings during the week
I know exactly what you're talking about, Toon Heads. This was a great show that went back with the history of the cartoons.
@@newstarcadefan yes i enjoyed toon heads
MeTV already does that "kinda". If you don't watch their morning cartoon block, you're missing out. I can't wait for this new channel.
@@MrDonCoyote i watch the morning block every morning but im excited and cann't wait for this channel also
THEY'RE BRINGING XIAOLIN SHOWDOWN TO THIS SERVICE!!!! WHAT THE YES!!!
A few more shows like xiaolin showdown and they can have their own version of Boomeraction
I agree I hope they can get Jackie Chan Adventures in the future
@@vincenttorres9477Real Ghostbusters is one of the Sony cartoons that will be on this channel, so there’s a good chance JCA will be on the network in the future.
Though, I believe the reason for Real Ghostbusters to be in there is because DiC made the show.
No joke i saw omi in the thumbnail and had to double take before screaming
You know, I kinda want Xiaolin Chronicles on this channel as well.
Oh, and Pokémon.
I cannot tell you how genuinely excited I am that Freakazoid will be back in the air.
The Mask animated series was very underrated!
Still hoping to buy a dvd of the series!!!
I only remember watching the 2 movies but not the series
That needs to be on Tubi like Ace Ventura's cartoon! Still waiting.
Never really liked the cartoon, but love the movie.
So was the Ace Ventura Pet Detective series, but that crossed over with The Mask for a 2-Part Crossover Event: "The Aceman Cometh" and "Have Mask, Will Travel." In the latter, Ace's butt was wearing the Mask of Loki.
You read my mind, I’m begging for this to be on Pluto lol it’d be on 24/7 in my house.
Sup dude! This network is gonna be so goated!!
Along with about 2 hours of Geico commercials

Nothing wrong with a little Shaolin showdown.
Brooo what a childhood memory unlocked
I take your Shaolin Showdown and raise you an Jackie Chan's Adventures!

Bummer about what happened after Showdown. Unfortunately unless they get some big backers again, Showdown was the peak, which is nothing to be ashamed of. Great series.
@@DiarraHarrisand I take those and let two shows lead: The Batman and Chaotic!
I love METV. My favorite part of the channel is the SCIFI SATURDAY block with Svengoolie, Batman, Star Trek, Kojak the night stalker, Lost in Space, and The Time Tunnel. Toon With ME is cool.
Kolchak the night stalker is an amazing series, I thank metv for introducing to that show, then also showing 60s batman is so fun to watch.
Secret squirrel
Havent heard anyone talk about The nightstalker in decades. I remember the reboot in the early 2000s. It was mid but at least it reminded me of the original
@@JMsolidsnake The original series is absolutely great, fun fact chris carter called Kolchak The Night Stalker a massive influence on the creation of the x files.
Half of that stuff isn’t even Sci-Fi, though would be cool to have a proper Sci-Fi channel again.
This makes me really happy. This is like an old school Cartoon Network.
im happy too and yes it is

You can watch 90% of the stuff they announced on Max, right now, any time you want. This is useless.
Or… you could just watch it on streaming whenever you want. Watch whatever you want. But LOL at those the old losers here crying that they can’t watch racist cartoons anymore. 🤣🤣🤡🤡
@MrArchangel2200 Don't forget " The 13 Ghosts Of Scooby-Doo" as well.
@@josephvalenzuela311 yes that too
Sweet, this is really awesome. Growing up we never had cable so MeTV was my go to channel and shows like Mash, Gilligan's Island, Mama's Family, and all the old superhero shows were what I grew up on. Now that they're starting up a cartoon channel I might have to jump back to MeTV.
All great shows.
@olvacron22
Out of curiosity, how old are you?
My first exposure to Cartoon Network was when I visited my relatives in Atlanta, Georgia. These exact shows were what I remember seeing when I saw Cartoon Network back into the mid 90s. All it needs is Cartoon Planet, G-Force (another dub of Ninja Science Team Gatchaman) Robotech, the Real Adventures of Johnny Quest, and I’ll relive my mid 90s childhood!
Those shoes will probably come later. They're probably just going to wait and see how well this new channel does before they consider getting more classic cartoons like that and more to the block.
And back in 95 Space Ghost Coast to Coast.
Speed Racer was a nice surprise! Hope they can get some Astro Boy in there, too.
Maybe Gigantor too.
A nice surprise. Speed Racer probably needed a few more thumbs up (business-speaking wise) than their peers in order to get that on the channel.
I would love it if they got the 60s or 80s versions of Astro Boy.
love speed racer atro boy not so much
The Vice Chairman of the company that owns MeTV said in an interview that their goal is to emulate the first decade of Cartoon Network as best as they can. He also mentioned a few classic anime series.
I love the idea of this being a free channel. I really hope it comes to people who don’t have access to just regular MeTV though because showing our new generation these classic gems (like Josie, Top Cat, etc) this makes me happy. I can’t wait to see any of the shows especially Baby Looney Tunes and The Mask but I can’t wait to sit down with my daughters and watch cartoons like Josie and Droopy.
im hoping i can get it on my streaming service since i got metv and metv plus
That is SO awesome. I love Boomerang but they dont always offer us everything. This channel is gonna give me so much nostalgia!!
excally
There's about a dozen more shows in those squares with yellow backgrounds. They line the website and rotate to different ones. Some of the others not pictured here are Captain Planet, Krypto the Superdog, and Silverhawks. There's also a video interview with MeTV's Vice Chairman where the Ghostbusters news comes from and he lists even more there like Thunderbirds. He also mentions that the first original show will be about Bugs Bunny airing in July on the 70th anniversary during a marathon.
I have been telling friends for YEARS I miss 1992 cartoon network back when these kind of cartoons were all they showed or at least were prominent! And this just makes me so happy!
Too bad I spent 1992 as a baby 😔
@@WxIxLxLxIxAxMxS oh trust me i didn't get to see it myself that's why I wanted it to return
1992 Cartoon network was EVERYTHING. Even 93-94 when they started to add original cartoons but still had all the classic stuff. It was still a nice mix.
I was literally born at the same time as Cartoon Network, so it was how I was introduced to all the classics. Therefore, I am beyond happy that today’s kids will get to experience the same joy for themselves

I would like to watch all those shows again on TV too.

It's like a time capsule of the premier Cartoon Network. I hope they make an action block for after school. Like Toonami.
I've got to sit my nephew and niece in front of the TV to watch this channel. Raise them up right.
By all means, please do. These are the kinds of shows that our kids and grandkids deserve to really be watching.
I caught their cartoon block once and it was AMAZING. Whoever programs that block actually knows cartoons and cares about quality. The Popeye shorts were 100% Fletcher Popeye, none of that Famous Studios era crap. Looney Tunes was LOONEY TUNES, not six Daffy Duck vs. Speedy Gonzales shorts, two Bosko and Honey numbers and one great one. EVERYTHING was the good stuff.
Same although the commercials are a bit too long
@@gregory7320 Yeah. I don't watch over-air TV for just that reason. Somebody happened to have it on and I couldn't help being impressed.

@@tbone8612same here. It’s going to be so nice to see the old school cartoons
It's about time. Plenty of request for this. This has been a long time coming for cartoons that actually mattered.
I've been following the development of MeTV Toons for months, and this station is going to be STACKED. All the right people are involved (it's from Weigel Broadcasting and Warner Bros Discovery is a partner on this channel), they're going deep in the archives and bringing in shows from everybody but Disney (Disney never shares anything with anybody), and they're unearthing a lot of shows that haven't been seen on broadcast TV in decades (some even half a century). This is NOT a children's channel, which shows that this team understands the assignment. Personally speaking, I hope we get a lot of action shows from the past, especially those old Hanna-Barbera Super Adventures shows, the Filmation DC shows, Superfriends, Centurions, Voltron, He-Man, She-Ra, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (hey, Paramount owns the '80s show, and they're providing Betty Boop and Terrytoons to the channel, so it could happen!), Batman: The Animated Series, Mighty Max, and Men in Black. I really hope it gets a local affiliate in my part of the world. We need a station like MeTV Toons now more than ever.
I would totally love to see Batman TAS and a lotta other good old 60's and 90's cartoons whoever made MeTV a antenna standing ovation. ❤️👏
Honestly This Is The Greatest Thing Since Boomerang that Hanna Barbera Library so many shows I Remember and Don't remember Early 2000's nostalgia kicking In good for MeTV so proud
I’m actually excited for this! I haven’t revisited a lot of these cartoons in a long time and some of them I’ve never actually seen before. It’s refreshing and reassuring to see modern audiences have an interest in classic cartoons. :)
i agree
Sometimes they have jokes that are outdated but that is part of history.
@@ribbonfly so true
Hallelujah! Any Rankin Bass or Filmation? Even if they don't, this is really good stuff. Bless you MeTv!
It'd be really cool if they could get some of the iconic Rankin-Bass specials to air during the holidays! Probably a pipe dream considering the complicated licensing of the specials but a man can dream lol
There are a lot of Rankin-Bass TV shows that most people haven't heard of.
Loved “The Archies,” “The Groovy Goolies,” and “Sabrina The Teenaged Witch.”
I can’t wait for this! Since a lot of my favorite shows these days have been getting canceled and the shows that are airing or streaming now, minus anime shows, aren’t as good or just sucks. I’ve always loved watching old cartoons. Takes me back to the days where they actually put in effort in these shows. Hope I’m able to get it
This makes me very happy, because Toon In with Me shaowed a lot of classic Looney Tunes shorts thay Ive never seen before. Way more than even old school Boomerang did. That is why I love them and to see them do this, well that makes me even happier!! I hope this succeeds and I can't wait to watch!
I’m 37 still watch the classic cartoons & not ashamed to admit it either 😊
Im so glad we have this to air. Streaming Services really f'ed up animation lately with removal of most classic shows. This will be a breath of fresh air.

But for what it's worth, Coyote vs. Acme as a MeTV Toons exclusive? THAT would be worth the price of admission.
I would love to see Steamboat Willie and other public domain cartoons get shown on METV Toons too. Maybe one day.
A place where I can watch Secret Squirrel, oh happy day. I hope they decide to put this as a live channel on Pluto Tv
it's insane we're back to this

My childhood years was lucky enough to have Saturday Morning cartoons and every generation up til about 2000 hasn't. At least this generation and going forward with RUclips can find out what they're missing and talk about the classic animation with their parents and grandparents.
When I heard this, i was excited AF! CAPTAIN PLANET, THE MASK? 2 Shows that I always wished had DVD Complete series additions now back in circulation?! I was already sold! I wouldn't mind if they had a streaming app service so I could binge watch them all!!
I want them to air the Laugh-A-lympics. I rarely see it on anymore during the actual Olympics.
3:27 To answer your question the name of this show is Marine Boy. It was dubbed I think by the same people who worked on Speed Racer, Gigantor and even the OG Astro Boy series!
Thank you!!!

Them putting Xiolin Showdown on here fills me with so much hope. Crossing my fingers HARD for Duck Dodgers, Mucha Lucha, Megas XLR, Jackie Chan Adventures , Swat Kats and all the DCAU cartoons!
And the og Teen Titians
Here’s the thing though. When Cartoon Network came out I was living with my parents & we didn’t have cable. Same for Boomerang. Now that I’m an adult & I have cable (because where I live doesn’t get OTA reception) I ONCE AGAIN cannot watch the 24/7 cartoon channel 😭.
But God bless. We need this!
That's a bummer. Are you sure you don't have the MeTV channels on your cable package? I don't watch them over the air, I watch them on cable. There's the main MeTV channel with Toon in with Me and Svengoolie and the MeTV+ that shows Mod squad.
My inner 80s 10yr old self is screaming with joy!!
Bommerang it’s all coming back to you now
My dad watched network TV a lot, and he would put MeTV on during Saturday mornings, because they air re-runs of Loony Toons like the Saturday Morning Cartoons we all grew up with. This doesn't surprise me at all TBH
Black Nerd talking about MeTV let's go
"The Real Ghostbusters" have also been licensed to air on MeTV Toons.
I loved The Real Ghostbusters. That was my favourite cartoon in the 1980's. I hope they don't show that Slimer portion of the Animated Series. In Canada, our network was called TeleToon. I also liked Tales From The Cryptkeeper, Addams' Family, Beetlejuice, Adventures of Tin-Tin, Alvin and the Chipmunks.
I hope He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles air on the MeTV Toons Network.
@@josephclegg3562 I would be incredibly disappointed if they did not air the vintage episodes of the Ninja Turtles and He-Man. Both cartoons started in the 80's with the TMNT show originally showing for the 1st time in Dec. of 1987 and the Masters of the Universe 1st episode starting on Sept. of 1983.
If they do a type of history show, i hope it's kinda like the old Toon Heads show on Cartoon Network. they'd give a brief history of the cartoons while playing the cartoon in question. It was really cool hearing about the events behind the cartoons and some of the inspirations too.
Considering it's being headed by a historian, it's safe to say it's in production.
This is my childhood being born in 84 and watching cartoons every Saturday morning and in the mornings before heading off to school. I can still remember making a bowl of cereal and sitting in front of the TV watching the best cartoons every Saturday. Me TV Toons reminds me of when Cartoon network and Boomerang launched and we got to see all these classic cartoons all the time until streaming ruined it and Warner bros decided they wanted people to pay a yearly subscription of $40 to watch all these classic cartoons. Hopefully there will be classic cartoon movies shown in primetime and on the weekends.
I'm 38 and holy crap this is definitely Cartoon Network and Boomerang on steroids. As someone that watched Saturday morning cartoons throughout my childhood and loves the classic cartoons from back then, this is awesome. Cartoon Network and Boomerang has not been the same in a while, But Here Comes me TV toons to the rescue. I will most definitely be checking this out with my young ones.
This is so cool. MeTv's selection of live action shows (Bonanza, MASH, Batman) is great.
If they got Johnny Bravo or Swat Kats on there its over. Sign me up.
The thing thats funny to mee is that boomerang still exist. and it actually has been getting progressively better. For a long time it was just Tom and Jerry and Smurfs. Now theyve actually started adding more scooby doo cartoons, jetsons, flintstones/ flinstones kids, Wacky Races, Jellystone/ Yogi Bear. I really hope MeTV toons has some early 00's shows too. Basically anything that Genndy Tartakovsky made should be on that channel too
With Xaolin Showdown being there, I hope they add more classics from KidsWB like Jackie Chan Adventures, Mucha Lucha, Static Shock, Ozzy and Drix, etc.
Andre, chill. You cool as hell homie. Hoping I can meet you at a convention sometime. There are plenty of us out here grown and miss the good old days of entertainment.
Season 1 of The Mask Animated series was released on DVD back in 2018 by Warner Home Archive. They never released S2 or S3 though.
I have it on Blu-ray.
Cartoons that should be added to the list.
1. Animaniacs
2. Tiny Toon Adventures
3. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
4. Alvin and the Chipmunks
5. He-Man
6. Beetlejuice
7. Captain Planet and the Planeteers
8. Fantastic Max
9. Tasmania
10. Sylvester and Tweety Mysteries
Now that Inspector Gadget is in this new channel, I hope MeTV broadcasts one of The Super Mario Bros Super Shows, it was one of my favorite show on DVD but never seen them on broadcast TV which is my biggest let down as a kid. Mario is my favorite video game franchise so to see everyone else like Pokémon, Sonic, Kirby, Pac-Man & even FZero has its own show & got aired on America’s TV but not Mario was really sad. My guess is that DiC was wanted to get the Mario shows get a rerun but Nintendo is charging too much for their licensing.
Roku has channels dedicated to the Mario and Sonic cartoons from the DiC library on their Roku Guide, a feature found on Roku players and Roku smart TVs...
I hope He-Man gets broadcast on this channel
@@Justin-Hill-1987 Roku is kinda mid.
I love this. Me and my dad used to watch the old Boomerang that featured a ton of Hanna Barbera cartoons. I'm glad I can watch them again sprinkled in with some cartoons when I was a kid
Now they just need to add Tezuka shows like _Astro Boy_ , _Kimba the White Lion_ and _Princess Knight_ . That would be awesome.
It would be funny if they advertised Astro Boy but instead showed Jetter Mars~
Funny part if ME TV on Saturday mornings did thus but for them to make it an entire channel is even better. I would like some MEtv dedicated to just cartoons.
Beetlejuice and The Real Ghostbusters are also gonna be on Me TV Toons
I hope so. Love both cartoons.
i would pay for a streaming service that has all the cartoons. im talking Hannah Barbara, wb, cartoon network, toonami, adult swim, disney, nickelodeon, fox kids, boomerang, pbs etc. why cant we have that??? like i would pay stupid money for that.
Personally i hope shows like Herculoids, Thundar the Barbarian, and maybe even the original Birdman find their way to this new channel.
Cool! That trailer takesme back to the first ones for Cartoon Network 32 years ago, like the clip of Yogi saying "We're talking tooni here!" (yet it was two more years before I got a cable service that had it). As CN began adding more and more new stuff, and even Boomerang eventually followed, many of us wished for a new "classic CN" to come up somewhere.
This sounds like the perfect solution to the streaming era. Reminds me of early 90a Cartoon Network
The thing is, Cartoon Network at first probably sounded like a crazy idea by Ted Turner back in the early 90s. Rerunning shows that by then were 10+ years old? No audience... or so they thought.
I really feel like this could find a new generation of kids who are just naturally curious or maybe even bored of modernity. Just like when the 90's kids were busy looking backwards.
Turner made a dumb mistake by selling his company to Warner Bros
Tubi app has most of these shows on there.
I wish MeTV was properly carried in Canada. Occasionally, one of the American channels that my cable carries gives up a few hours to MeTV, and it's always a kick.
Boomerang blew it big time when they gave up on their classic toon network. Hooray for MeTV. It's so hard trying to scour RUclips TV for the truly classic works of art that started in the 1950's. Great News Mr. Nerd!
I did pick up an antenna for OTA stuff mostly so we could watch the holiday parades and whatnot, and I think we get MeTV with our setup? so I'm hoping that means when MeTV Toons launches we might be able to pick it up as well! definitely excited there's a good chunk of shows in the announcement that I'm looking forward to revisiting, and then the stuff that they haven't mentioned yet, definitely a lot of possibilities there! so definitely keeping an eye on this for whenever they launch!
I hope to see gargoyles ,mummies alive, silver hawks, lone star, dragon flyand symbiotic titans
Xiaolin Showdown does stick out so much in the graphic with with classic cartoon characters from the 20th century. I haven't seen that show since it came out 20 years ago when I was a kid.
Oh, this is truly fantastic. Truly, truly fantastic. My childhood on one wonderful channel. Cannot wait 😃😃
Thanks for letting us know about this awesome new channel development! Lot of my favorites from my childhood, looking forward to see them!
Sweet! Now if only MeTV would work out a deal to be on RUclipsTV, I'd be set.
Antenna is free and better. No one uses RUclips TV
I'm so excited about this channel! I really missed the days of Boomerang. I would watch that channel like non-stop.
I see that Boomerang is trying to go back to classic cartoons, but it's not the same. They only have like a certain amount of shows that they choose to air.
I hope they have cool bumpers between shows like Boomerang did. It's great that we are getting something like that again, plus more! I really do hope as well that they put it on Tubi or Pluto. Heck, even it's own app. That would be great. I can't wait for the launch!
Hell yeah this is a dream come true! I eagerly await this event. I already love MeTV so this is even more of a treat. Thanks for the update and the info.
The one with the boy in the red suit and the mermaid is Marine Boy. I use to watch that show when it came on back in the day.
The young guy on the dolphin was Marine boy Japanese anime that aired in the early seventies along with speed racer end the original Lion King Kimba the White Lion.
Not to start an argument... The Lion King was _inspired_ by Kimba (and Hamlet), but it's not the same story AT ALL. So many people will claim Disney just copied Kimba, but if they had actually watched Kimba they would know that's not true.
@@WxIxLxLxIxAxMxS I grew up on Kimba and I watch the movie that they tried to block called the jungle emperor about kemba and his wife and their two little kids I wonder why that sounds familiar. Maybe you need to watch the jungle emperor because it was started before The Lion King. It had to go on hiatus because the Creator passed.. Disney been the large conglomerate tried to ban it from even being shown at Can festivals you know the independence. Disney has a history of taking things that don't belong to them and branding it as their own.
"Denver, The Last Dinosaur" please! Also maybe "Flint, The Time Detective"?
I love it! It would definitely get kids back into the old "Saturday Morning" excited mood!
Exactly, I don't know why more stations aren't doing this! They complain about ratings and how broadcast tv is dying but there is literally nothing to watch! There is no reason why they can't have an afternoon cartoon block or Saturday/Sunday morning block of cartoons! They don't even have to spend money on new shows being made just air old ones that they already own. They do this with sitcoms and drama shows. Why not cartoons?
This will be my new go to channel when I need something on in the background while working. This is amazing!
They need Felix the Cat, Pink Panther. Its the Hair Bear Bunch, Funky Phantom, Inch High Private Eye,
I really hope they eventually get some of the newer cartoons too. But most importantly, call me bitter, I dearly hope the streaming services who dropped the ball with the cartoon licenses they got from Cartoon Network regret their decision to cut all of those. Or else I hope this inspires another channel to pick up the newer stuff so we can get more Infinity Train dang it. And YES lol maybe MeTV could just pick up Coyote vs. Acme on their way out. If it's already finished, you might as well, right?!?
The Fairly Oddparents and SpongeBob SquarePants
Hope to see the classic Animaniacs and tiny toons back on thier channel too!
Give me some Action Cartoons and I'm in. Give me back them Thunder Cats, SilverHawks, Comic Strip, He-Man....Let's Gooooo.!!!!!

I think it'll be broadcast in SD 480i. I hope they transition to HD soon, because even for old content, the HD will allow the channel to broadcast with higher video bitrate, looking better in our tvs than the compression they use for 480i SD.
