My mom's first job after moving to Atlanta during Hurricane Katrina was working for Ted Turner at his restaurant Ted's Montana Grill. She said he was a really cool guy to work with! I've lived right down the street from the Cartoon Network headquarters for nearly 20 years and this hits me so hard

Cartoonito is not something that just happened to exist in 2021. It was actually a programming block that actually started airing 17 years ago back in 2006 in most other countries.
and now it's starting to consume the European boomerang feeds as a lot of them are becoming Cartoonito

As an incredibly loyal CN fan, I absolutely love this whole video.
9:18 is definitely my favorite part.
It's the most accurate description I've ever seen of the WBD chaos.
The Max Original cartoon characters all hideously suffering a horrible fate, especially Gary Goodspeed, CN and [as] gripping on to each other for dear life and leaving Cartoonito aside for any bad thing to attack him, Zaslav embracing the time of his life, and most importantly, Max losing his muscles and spark of joy.
This is so beautiful man. I have no words.
Bravo.

The beauty of RUclips recommendations strikes again! I adore this CN history lesson, everything from the fast-paced dry humor, to the intentionally crude visuals, to the "Ed, Edd n Eddy" sound design! The highlight has to be the WB Discovery destruction sequence for how it flawlessly mixes with the "natural order" scene from "Billy & Mandy".

@@AmusingLuis unicorn warriors eternal is goiong to be on as
@@SamOlds2999 After the merger, both AS and CN is now under one president Micheal Ouweleen, and he moved Unicorn Warriors from CN to AS possibly to improve it's rating since there's a spike of viewership just before AS block starts. Unicorn Warriors is likely to be aimed at teens, so it makes sense that it would be a bridge as you have tamer shows at the beginning of AS with the more adult stuff being closer to midnight. Same happened to My Day With Superman where it moved from CN to AS.
CN is still likely to be fine in the coming years as you have Iyanu Child of Light, Invincible Girl, PPG revival (with the original creator helping this time), Gumball reboot, Fiona and Cake spin off, SWAT Kats making it's own comeback, and the return to Total Drama proper. While both blocks were severally reduced to what they are right now, it's not going to die anytime soon.

Its really sad to see how 2022 turned out to be just like 2009, i love CN. Even though im about to finish high school i would still visit this channel from time to time, it really hits you with the nostalgic feelings. I realize that when im an adult i will never get the same amount of happiness i got from watching cartoons. (Sorry that your marriage was broken because of that stupid half-assed ppg reboot, i hope you are doing okay on your own)
Look at the bright side, after 2009, there was the Renaissance period that revived the channel. We are kinda getting something similar with a bunch of new shows for both CN and AS as they are now under control of one president, Michael Ouweleen. Unicorn Warriors and My Day With Superman are action shows aiming at teen audience and they're moving from CN to AS to get as many views from their target audience. Invincible Girl and Iyanu Child of Light are two original shows that look promising. Craig McCracken is back to make a proper PPG revival series and his recent shows like Kid Cosmic not only proves that he's still an amazing show runners but can add something new to PPG. Foster Home is also getting a reboot for Cartoonito which while many can find it disappointing, I think it can be okay, just look at how popular Bluey is. Finally there's two new seasons Total Drama Island that will return to it's original form unlike it's previous show.
I'm sure a lot of people thought CN will be dead during CN Real only for juggernauts like Adventure Time and Regular Show came in. Hopefully the same can happen with 2022.
@@allendepacheco3419 thanks for helping me catch up with this, i havent seen a lot of CN related things ever since 2019
@@AureliusAurie There's a lot of good and enjoyable shows that CN studio made but they were sidelined into obscurity due to HBO Max even before the merger. Tig n Seek and Fungies were CN originals that later became HBO Max originals but Max never advertised these shows like at all. They even intervened these shows that created some bad first impressions. Tig n Seek had a really bland first season due to executive meddling, but it's quickly became one of the funniest show from season 2-4.
Then there's Elliot from Earth which was made by the same team that made Gumball, but poor scheduling doomed the series as not enough people had heard of it in the first place and those that do just don't really care about it. The cliffhanger from Gumball really made it difficult for Elliott to fill it's shoes.
There's possibly other shows that struggled after the Renaissance era, but I noticed that CN Studio is great at making bangers after bangers when it comes to original series. Like their reboots can range from mid to horrid, but any original series are still top quality when given the chance. That's kinda my hope for future CN. That they can have enough time to properly create and grow their new series even with the sudden reduction the Discovery made. While I think the merger might be worse than CNReal, a lot of great shows came from a few survivors of the CNReal purge like Misadventures of Flapjack spawning Adventure Time and Regular Show, so maybe the same can happen right now. Maybe someone who worked on Craig of Creek can make a new flagship two years from now. While it's likely CN the channel may not survive, CN Studio will not go down without a fight
This was the first video that popped up when I searched for the history of Cartoon Network and I gotta say this couldn’t have been a better video for someone who grew up with this network but fell off it by 2018, I hope they can recover soon
