Know you pinned, old video, you mentioned in another (re: fuse placement) … Not asking you to rewire it, but suggesting buying and adding a second fuse next to the battery. This saves you from any issues with length (insert joke), gives you the protection against a short in the run, size appropriately for the load. I’ve done a lot of janky things installing stereo stuff in my cars in the 90s and this looks clean just for your safety if you haven’t get it done, I bet you could find a spot in the run of the wire where the risk of abrasion/wear is non-zero (no looms, plastic, rubber, electrical tape or otherwise) Keep ya head up and sharing your journey and experience with us
MY SOUND SYSTEM THE FUSE IS BY THE BATTERY ALSO BUT I GOT A DIFF TYPE. ONE THAT YOU RESET WHEN TRIGGERED LIKE A CIRCUIT BREAKER. JUST LEAVE THAT ONE THERE AND ADD THE OTHER
Bro you should put the fuse by the battery not in the boot. If it archs anywhere in the car you will have a live wire burning with no fuse to blow. Nice vid bro thanks 🤙🏾
Great video. If you can, I would redo your Fuse location, it should be as close to the battery as possible because all the wire between the battery and the fuse is unprotected and can burn up. I actually had a fire like that happen on my 70 camaro in the garage and I was lucky i had the hood up and was able to cut the cable.
You should use ferrule on multi strand power and ground wires and fuse should be as closest to battery in the engine bay. If a live unfused 12v power wire shorts due to accident it will catch fire. You should check on the other side before drilling. Grommet with shield should be used on power wire as fires happens during accidents.
Exactly what I needed man, wanted a way to get a sub in without cutting or splicing Incase I ever need to go back to stock. Awesome video as always keep it up!
Number 1 rule in car audio installs, you're supposed to put the fuse close to the battery so you can protect the cable from shorting out. The way you did it, the cable can get pinched in the firewall or under the carpeting and start a fire.
You’ll want some sound deadening to get rid of unwanted rattles and better output. Kilmat is what I used on my corolla. No rattles in a 1500 rms watt system.
Use a star washer when grounding wire, use ratchet crimped as bad crimp will come undone during accidents and arcing live 12v is short to ground equals 🔥 FIRE.
I'm sure most have commented on the fuse being w/in 12" of the battery, not from the sub...but at least you have a fuse...the only downside is the over-current can travel the length of the power wire before the fuse blows...adding a 2nd fuse closer to the battery is an easy addition....overall, installation looks nice...sloppy, but nice. Next project; raised hatch floor to get rid of the wobble...

It seems someone else noticed the 1st thing I did just and that’s to put the fuse as close to the supply or source (battery) as you can. The last thing you want is a live cable from a solid power running around and ready to spark or start welding because it was run under the car or through a firewall or trunk floor and there was no rubber grommet used or the insulation deteriorated or heaven forbid your involved in an accident or forced to drive over something that fell off a vehicle in front of you on the interstate that bounces up n Pierce’s the wire shielding. Just saying Thanks for informative watch tho n peace
I’ve seen this harness but did not want to buy it due to the fact that it said non-JBL. Thank you for verifying fitment. I do not believe they make a JBL harness. I will buy this for my 2020 Corolla sedan XSE with JBL. Thank you. Nice video.
I have a 2019 xse hatch with jbl system and finding a harness has been a issue . Did this connection work even though it state it only works with OEM system ? Thanks and awesome video
Thanks for this vid bro, I have been putting off a sub since I replaced and amped my door and dash speakers (tough for a first-timer) I am running a 400W 4-channel amp that has a sub out so all the wire work is not too. Bad. I think I might try the shallow variant of the Cerwin Vega spare tire sub to keep the floor flush in the hatch. Might just need to finally do some sound treating, my front door woofers are already rattling the car as is lol but love how everything has been plug and play, barely any cutting necessary to stock harnesses. Keep up the fire content!!!
How are the other JBL factory speakers? I see a lot of Corolla owners who are in to sound like us, at minimum, upgrade the dash 3.5s with the JBL 3020s. You feel the factory JBLs are sufficient, or change any? I'm looking at getting one of these soon, and adding that JBL tire sub like you did, and trying to see if any the JBL stocks needed upgrading too!

Hey Giovani! So I just did your exact same install on my 2022 XSE with JBL package. Used all the same parts and it works great!! The only weird thing I’m experiencing is that whenever I turn down my main stock radio volume, the subwoofer volume doesn’t seem to lower at all. Any ideas what I did wrong or what’s going on?
you did everything right! You would have to add an external amp to control both your sub and main volume. That’s why there’s a remote to lower the sub!
I will use some of the steps to install a DSP and amplify the signal to all speakers and tweeters and even add a sub. It will sound greater than great. These cars have a weak (in terms of power) sound system
So the sub is higher with the hatch panel cover??? Do you think the sub would be perfect with cover and without the spare tire in place thus not having it play around...I don't like how it was showing uneven levels but still mad props!!! The normal radio adapter fits the JBLs 🙌🙌🙌

Hey man just wanted to say I love the videos. I have a 2020 6MT and I appreciate the content. Does the sub come with a pre amp? I actually had the larger version of the JBL bass pro 12 with the pre amp sub and I got it uninstalled. I currently have an 8” DD Audio sub with a 1000watt Audison 6channel amp. The subwoofer Phase button for 0 or 180 degree is not working.. I mean it's not giving any effect after pressing it.. W
Good evening, what is the model of the rca converter and is it used to connect to a Camry 2022 stereo?
Not sure on the model but i have the link in the description. I’m not sure if it fits a camry
Omg this sounds amazing I need it!
Dude so worth it!!! 🙌🏽🔥
@GeovanisGarage Sadly, I missed the boat as I recently bought my Corolla 2020. Is there a chance you'll be able to help me find the Wire harness Add-on to the head unit, as it's nowhere available. Thanks, mate! I'm using your channel for some mods!
Did you by any chance figure out if that head unit wiring harness works on both jbl and non jbl audio cars?
Check out @ 18:12 , I hope I made it clear but it work for both 😭🙏🏽
What size bolt did you buy to fit at the end?
Do we need a separate amplifier for this Basspro Hub to work?
No sir! Plug and play!
Do you happen to know how I could upgrade the Nav system on my Hatchback XSE to show the Navigation in the screen and have the compass in the MID? Not sure what parts I would need to order
I don’t have the XSE Preferred Package like yours does
I don’t think you can upgrade. It’s a whole different ECU setup! Unfortunately you can swap it over.
@@GeovanisGarage yeahh I saw in your vid that the back of yours has a different part number and some of the connectors on the back are different. I wish they sold that package where I live 😔
What year is your Corolla ? I just ordered the sub and wondering if the amp adapter will work on my 2021 Hatch.
2020! Works through 2019 -2022
@@GeovanisGarage Did you keep the factory speakers or replaced them as well?
I kept them!
help me with mine bro 😭 also, i have the sedan version of the 2020 corolla XSE, also jbl package. do you know if the fitting of the sub is better on the sedan to where it will not wobble when you put everything back together?
It’s the same exact fitment bro!!! You got this 😮💨😮💨😮💨🔥🔥🔥
@@GeovanisGarage thank you!!
Where can I find the rca adapter harness
How do I remove the trim from the sides to run my wires?
Hey man just wanted to say I love the videos. I have a 2020 6MT and I appreciate the content.
Does the sub come with a pre amp? I actually had the larger version of the JBL bass pro 12 with the pre amp sub and I got it uninstalled. I currently have an 8” DD Audio sub with a 1000watt Audison 6channel amp. It hits much harder than the bass pro and takes up only a little space in the trunk.
Sound quality wise I would look into something like that with a DSP (digital signal processor) to really enhance the music quality.
Thank you so much man! Appreciate you so much for supporting the channel 🙏🏽🔥 yes it does! & really? That’s dope bro! 🔥 & this DSP thing, I’m gonna have look into it, I really want to upgrade my sound quality! Thank you for the advice! 🙏🏽
@@GeovanisGarage hey man i had a side question. Have you ever thought of getting a sun roof installed? I live in Portland and there is one good company that installs them and I’m thinking of adding one. They aren’t terribly expensive either. I looked online and saw not a single hatchback with a sunroof.
No never thought of it! Definitely now on my list!
Could I get signal from a rear speaker to the RCAs? I don't have aftermarket radio.
If it has a plug-in, i think it should work!
Hey. The fuse is going in the front of the car near the battery. Not at the sub.
Hi guys. Could you help me finding that amplifier? The link doesnt work.
this works fine with the jbl audio upgrade ?
Yessir!
Can you get the jbl system that already came with your car separately?
I’m not sure! I’m pretty sure you can’t!
Dope car and great video bro...I'm sure it's pretty similar to install in 2022 Camry SE. I'm prob gonna get that sub and install using this video. The highs are good on base system, just need bass, it has like zero lol. Time to upgrade the daily haha
Thank you bro 🙌🏽🔥
Can i use power from trunk cigarette outlet 12V ?
Not sure 😭
So want to do this after getting new prius. Or on my now prius 3rd gn.
Did you wrap the steering wheel?
No sir! It is a carbon fiber wheel!
will everything work with the 2023 hatch with jbl?
Great Video! :-)
Have you got a Amazon link for the High-Low-Adapter for me? Thank you!
Yes it’s the description! & thank you for watching 🙏🏽
@@GeovanisGarage I looked in description before, I couldn't find it ... I'm going to look again
@@GeovanisGarage thanks...yet I found it! :-)
Hey man I’m watching this video 2022, I know little to nothing about audio but I forshure want to add a sub to my rolla to enhance the audio sust a bit but a huge question do you need an amp for this sub?
No you do not! Follow this video step by step! Just put the fuse close to the battery terminal! I messed up and put it by the sub!
Cant seem to buy the wire harness add on, another suggestions? I have a corrola 2021
Just checked the link and they still have some! Check the link in the description!
