    • @QuantumS1ngularity
      @QuantumS1ngularity 28 дней назад +226

@@davidstud3952 Black - rich fuel mixture. Normal for heavily tuned cars.
Blue - oil burning somewhere in the engine. Broken seal or gasket or piston rings or some feeding line or valve. It's bad, since friction instantly starts becoming an issue, but if you react in time and depending on your luck it's usually fixable and not cheap, but also not ultra expensive.
Gray or blueish-gray - usually a sign that the turbo(s) left the chat. Press F to pay respect to the spinny boy(s). Starts wit AT LEAST the value of the turbo, which on itself is expensive AF and again depending on your luck, might need to fix something in the block as well. If it's a factory turbo and not a custom job, you start with taking the engine out of the bay. This on itself alone is a $600+ job and doesn't include putting it back in or any work on it.
White - coolant in the engine. Basically throw it away and get a new one, cause fixing this will cost more than the car.

Hey guys! Quick update: this comes with the territory. We shoot between 150 and 200 cars on the Autobahn every year, many of them tuned, in total probably around 1500 cars. The vast majority of them perform great and are totally fine. In these particular cases a weak link is exposed when the car is pushed and this happens. Everyone who submits their car, knows what we do and the videos we record. In some of these cases the owner is driving himself. Since there are a lot of questions regarding the cars in this video and their issues, we’ll be doing a follow-up video on Monday! We’ll try to answer all your questions and explain what happened as best we can and share a bit more of how we work and what goes on behind the scenes. As always, thanks for watching! - Max

9:25 If you're curious like me, here's the explanation of what those controls are for:
Launch: A control for launch control, a system that optimizes the standing start by adjusting torque and traction.
ALS: Stands for Anti-Lag System, a system used in turbocharged engines to reduce turbo lag by maintaining boost pressure.
WMI: Refers to Water-Methanol Injection, a technique that injects a mixture of water and methanol to cool the incoming air and increase engine power.
MAP: Refers to different engine mappings, allowing the selection of various performance configurations.
Pump: A switch to turn a pump on or off, possibly for fuel or an auxiliary system.
Valve: Could be connected to a valve, such as a turbo valve (e.g., blow-off valve or wastegate).
Haldex: Refers to the Haldex all-wheel-drive system, used in some vehicles (often Volkswagen and Audi), which may regulate the distribution of power between the front and rear axles.

One day while going 80 mph on a UK motorway, overtaking in the outside lane, the cam belt slipped a few notches and the valves got to see what a 22:1 compression ratio looks like! I dumped half the engine on the road but was able to get over to the hard shoulder quickly where, in true Hollywood style, I managed to avoid running into a temporary road works sign by a few metres. Go tell me “ smart man “ what’s the point of going to the absolute end of the rev counter ? There is NO power there . Most power is at 85-90% of the rev range . That you do it on need for speed is fun . But every track record on nurburgring they shift BEFORE the end of the rev counter . Maybe go of you PlayStation and understand peak powercurve

guys... you dont answer comments, but i hope someone read this. Even car made for driving. They cant hold long time full throttle. imagine how hot the oil is. 4000-7000rpm. +250-300+kmh. You dont drive high speed too long... And i hope you guys ask everyone about the car maintance. Like last oil change and stuff. Before and after these videos oil change is 100% recommended

Engines should be Vollgasfest ( Ful Throttle Proof) since the mid to late 80ties that beeing said, in the vid the run them hard into the redline, a place where you should never be in normal operation. I dont lnow what these people have done to their engines besides running them into the redline and shifting too late.( The red part is the part where the car maker can say we garant nothing). The difference is also theat the rpm is supposed to drop down after acceleration, my car would be at like 5000 RPM at 260 km/h and still have 3000 RPM to the redline. And usually you wont stay long at those speed unless you are in a low population federal state of Germany.
I dont know how many modern cars still have a gauge for water temperature and oil pressure, but if on a semi modern car the water or oil temperature isnt stable...that could be a sign that something is wrong whilst for classics that would be normalfor these to fluctuate a lot airpressure ,temperature, how hard the engine is run, humidity, all stuff that ususually is electronically regulated by now.
Yes you can drive that fast in part BUT only as long traffic regulation and current traffic allows it. And recomended speed is 130km/h.

BMW 5 Series doing 5 Series things, and honestly, the RX8 was no surprise. But clearly, the main reason for all those incidents was driving the engine outside of its specs. I owned a Cupra M1 ATP and currently have an EVO X, but even in S-Super Mode, I never let the engine run into the upper range of the redline. Also, proper fluids, which most people do not have, are important. First of all, most engines have too high oil temps, and the OEM fluids from Castrol and TotalQuartz are not meant to operate at these temperatures. I also had an A4 3.0 Diesel as a work car. Literally, after driving normally on the Autobahn at 150-160 km/h, if you opened the oil filler cap, you’d get oil fumes in your face because the oil gets too hot. Also, if someone changes it themselves, proper oil comes out of the engine after 15,000 km with a brownish color and no burnt smell to it. I use on the EVO specifically only TripleQX 5w30, Xedo 5w30 or Mihel Ceramic Oil 5w30, they are high in content of Boron, which makes them good oils at high temperature.
