Great and clean factory install. Excellent job. The only negative point is that thin positive wire. This is a 200w subwoofer. The wire should at least be 8 gauge, otherwise it can melt and can cause fire. The fuse on the subwoofer it self is 30 amp. I really recommend you get the positive wire from the front battery directly.
@@Ahmed_SA82 I did the same install and had issues with the bass not working after about 10 mins of driving, as soon as I turn the car off and on the sub starts to work again so I’ve change the cables to 8 gauge power and earth, made sure there no paint around the earth mounting point and still having the same issues need help!!! 🤯🤯🤯
Just wanted to say that I followed your procedure in this video and it worked a treat, only took an hour including making the connector up, many thanks!
Great professional install. I like that you found the part number for the molex connector, and connected into the rear panel fuse panel. Your video was very helpful inspired me to put a better subwoofer in my Focus RS. I used the Cerwin Vega VS12SH 12” spare tire subwoofer and a separate AudioControl ACM-1.300 300w rms amplifier. I also bought the optional bass control knob and mounted it in the dash pocket next to the USB. I ended up trimming the foam out where the subwoofer resides and fabricated a flat center mount. This allowed the subwoofer to sit flush with the top of the foam(the VS12SH is only 4.7” tall). Thanks again for the excellent video!
Installed it on my Focus mk3 2012 just like you explained. This thing sounds wonderful. I have the gain at 1/4 and still need to turn the bass down on the radio. My arm hair starts vibrating when turned all the way up. The big difference with the stock Sony woofer is this one you can turn the volume up all the way to 30 and it just keeps kicking harder and harder without distortion. The arrangement in the trunk is different as I have the EU version so the woofer is in the middle but the molex connector fits perfectly. I have a 16” spare wheel and the JBL is a good fit. Also put some sound deadening material around the spare wheel on the floor. I’m surprised there are hardly any vibrations in the interior, only at very high volume the rear mirror vibrates. And the most important thing it is completely hidden and I have all my trunk space left.
@randomyoutubenickname I think it gives a very accurate representation of the bass. With house music the bass is strong and low and with normal music the bass is less. With the remote control you can turn the settings all the way down if needed. One of the best audio purchases I've made.
I bought all the connectors you have and the first thing I noticed is the red power cable on the jbl is big (and splits into 4 smaller cables to the connector) while the fuse splitter cable is much thinner. Since I’m not confident enough to connect a wire to the battery I will just run it this way and see what it does. Thanks for the video.
Great and clean factory install but the only thing different I would have done is to put "ALL" the wires underneath the Styrofoam and have it come up from the bottom. Make grooves in the Styrofoam for the wires and chance some of the wires to a 8 gauge for better current. But I Like Your Video
Hi. Great install thank you very much. I now did exactly the same with my own RS. The only thing I changed is I used 2 Fuse connectors with 15A each because of the thin cable. Unfortunately I now have a problem with my sub. While driving it just shuts off and I don't know why. Sometimes after 5 min sometimes never. Once I had no sub straight after starting the car. Power connection is good. Even the LED on the sub is still green without any sound. So I'm guessing it has to be de sound signal. Connections there are good even a wiggle does not bring the sound back. Just shutting the car off waiting for 1-2min and starting it again will fix the problem. Any ideas about that? Would really help me.
Thank you. I followed your instructions to the tee and it worked. I guess Euro version and American versions of the Ford Focus RS are different. Hey thank you again.
won't overheat because the factory wiring is 16-gauge wire as long as u use 16awg or bigger it will be fine. because the factory wire will overheat first
I'm confused can you elaborate what your saying here.. is this even ok to install this way without going directly to battery.. the way he did it at panel is ok?
The panel is not OK for this sub. The panel is fed by a long small wire and feed several other loads. This should have a deticated wire of at least 8 AWG, preferably at least 4 AWG directly from the battery and be fused as close to the battery as possible, but no more than 18 inches (~450mm).
Nice clean install. I have a question though. Does the subwoofer have the auto sense on/off feature by using the high level inputs? Did not see you using the remote wire and was wondering.
Yes these Rs subwoofer sounds not very good u need to upgrade your sub to get the best sound out I have upgraded mine and door speakers and the sound of the different sound much better well done
I did exactly what you did today but for some reason it only worked for a few seconds. It then cut out and now no sound is coming from it. Still got power but nothing else 🤦🏼♀️.
How the hell did you figure out what connector to buy from mouser? I have a 2021 trailblazer and id like to make this install as easy as possible without needing an lc2i pro.
Good install Adam 👍🏻 what are your long term plans for the focus are you keeping it for years to come or do you have a time in mind when it will go? Is there another performance car you’d like to get your hands on?
I’m having issues with the sub going off while driving for about 10 mins then if I turn the car off and back on sub starts to work again I’ve done the same setup with all the same parts but not sure what the issue is
I need help. Can anyone tell me if it works without remote controller, or can i use other JBL controller? I dont't have factory controller and i can't find IT to buy here on Poland. Maby you know where i can buy factory controller?

If I used a 14 gauge wire lime this set up will it cause issues.. if I didn't run it correctly to battery

It depends on your subwoofer power, but if you really run the sub at high volume for a long period of time, you can melt the wire

After 5 months, do you still recommend this subwoofer? Some people say it gets too "boomy" and it's struggling to produce clean bass

No, absolutely not enough to be safe.
