Florida and Louisiana have a size limit on whether to raise and alligator or eat it. Sounds about right
(Pet or food?) I don't know it's still in the water!
This explains why the people known to eat other people's faces come from Florida.
If I remember alligator law correctly, gators under 6ft can be relocated. After that....well, it's grilling time.
It's just nice to know that it's not just one of the many Michigan lakes that we often find some 2-3 1/2 foot gator in at some point in the summer. Every time I've heard of it happening it's always a lake with lots of houses and that's why I'm convinced it's a pet someone couldn't afford to feed anymore and couldn't find a zoo to take it willingly. The irony is that pet alligators are legal here but importing or selling alligator leather isn't 🤔. As a leather worker this bugs the crap hell out of me.
I mean, that’s what we do with pigs, cows, fish and lobsters too.
LA: “Nah you can’t just say that and not explain what the hell you’re talking about.”
NY: “Yes he can, that’s his problem, not ours.”
We love NY.
I mean, he's not wrong
NY attitude really is "Just mind your own fucking business"
NY ain't wrong. Let us deal with whatever we need to weather it's raising gators or hiding from African snails, just let us do what we want
@@ScottIrving746 that describes NY attitude very well.
@@FireNinja-ot6pw "We don't give s*** unless that s*** hits the fan and sprays me.
Then we have problems."
Not sure which I like best this week: The Macaws/My cars joke or “Mais… I’mma put de seasonin’s back” or “Suck it, England!” 😂
RIGHT
"Suck it England" lol
I have to say i applauded when i read the carpool thing.. It is the kind of civil disobedience that can actually have results.
All the pregnant women in Texas need to start using the HOV.
just gonna say, she was not a democrat and said it wasn’t a political statement abt roe v wade, it was just because she had been doing it with her last kid when he was a fetus or whatever.
Actually, for me it sounds like a great idea for a law. Pregnant women can drive in the HOV lane. Whose to say they can't?
Predicted result: They will more clearly define that an "occupant" for HOV purposes is a person that occupies their own seat.
@@xaosflux either that or fine her as the fetus wasn't wearing a seat belt
As a neighbor to NYC I really appreciate NY's consistent "mind your own business" attitude.
Some kids are suing the state of Montana over environmental issues as per their state constitutional right. That should be fun.
I'll get the popcorn and the camera so I can catch the very moment the civil justice system fails them.
Ah, sweet summer children. They actually think the laws were written FOR them and that laws actually mean anything if you don't have money and "bizznes" interests.
@@randomcdude4430 eh, the more this happens the more my generation can understand that progress is only achieved when the people in power are more afraid of you than they are afraid of progress
@@giordanocoresi2934 I hope they do something to make them scared, but the courts probably ain't it. I have seen too many instances of courts just sort of patting folks (kids and non-profits) on the head and siding with the monied business party or issuing with a wink and a nudge to business, some mealy-mouthed decision that is ostensibly in the kid's/non-profit's favor but is so toothless or easily worked around that nothing actually changes. Having tried to be the boots on the ground in nat resources conservation I have seen too much sausage being made to not be cynical (typical millennial that wanted to do my part to save the world and got jaded, I know). I used to poopoo a monkey wrench, but now... Eh, Ed Abbey's days are long gone though.
@@randomcdude4430 actually their court system is allowing the case to go through. Although whether they win or not isnt the point I think.
I love how everyone's like "oh some lines were a little weird...." when the Guidestones literally said what the cap on the world population should be. They weren't just a little weird.
I absolutely love that Florida and Louisiana are besties and Louisiana is the smart one of the two.
FL literally thought meningitis was called men vaginas, plus when NY told FL to learn to fucking read he replied with "aww no"
Florida and Louisiana remind me of Beavis and Butthead.
Ben!! Please make a T-Shirt with "Imma put the seasonins back."
"Imma put the seasonins back." needs to be the new phrase for when you're done with a conversation. Someone doesn't understand what you're saying, you say, "Imma put the seasonins back" and walk away.
I’d so buy this shirt!!!!
_Looks dire enemy up and down with a sneer of contempt_
*"I'M GONNA PUT THE SEASONINGS BACK."*
_Spits on floor, walks away._
Watching California learn to cheer for Waffle House behavior is oddly heartwarming.
When you have a poor boy’s version called Roscoe’s, you tend to appreciate and imitate.
"Oh no, you mean someone invaded his privacy??? How terrible!!!" is so perfect
Yeah, when I heard that the Georgia Guidestones were demolished, I could feel John Oliver's heart breaking
Really? I thought there was a good chance the person who commissioned them was a white supremacist?
When your from Georgia but don't know what the Guidestones were, couldn't be me
@@taliadeich1369 the Georgia Guidestones were a very famous set of Granite Slabs that were mysteriously paid for and constructed in the 80s they sat just outside of Elberton and had rules for how the world should operate in a post apocalyptic setting. They had multiple different languages translated on them. Someone blew up one of the stones last week or something and the state demolished the others over “safety” concerns.
He's gotta do an update about "Specific Rocks".
@@TownieFormal damn it that's what I thought those were, well looks like we need a new set
I literally scream when ben post. I WAS SO HAPPY!! And this wasn't even close to be disappointing. Amazing work ☆v☆
There's actually a third (well, new second), in Nebraska. It's called Carhenge, and it's exactly what it sounds like. A bunch of old cars stacked similarly to the Stonehenge in England.
Admittedly, it's not _quite_ the same thing, but there's _also_ a phenomenon called "Manhattanhenge", which occurs every May and July, when the setting sun is perfectly aligned with the corridors between buildings in New York City.
But WHY, Nebraska?
@@LexKaiNix they had nothing better to do that day would be my guess.
@@LexKaiNix Why *not?*
Washington State has a literal Stonehenge relica...this country is full of...henges?
As someone from the metric system world I really appreciated the "Who is deciding what eight feet is here? It's about one alligator." joke. 😁
Kavanagh needs to point out where in the bill of rights it says that he has a right to eat dessert in peace. After all, according to this court, if it isn't explicitly spelled out as a right then it doesn't exist.
As a louisianaian I can confirm I’m more of a tiger person than alligator. Alligators food but geaux tigers is life

Huh. Didn't even know that was a thing.
@@samualmiller2449 it’s almost happened to me a few times, I can honestly see it
Nah the fetus one is actually genius. Somebody needs to pay her ticket for her
The judge threw the ticket out as they didnt want to rule on it and create precedent lmao.
@@KirstyWales this is amazing, they rlly gave up because they didn’t want to be responsible for any after shocks😂
This is just “on today's episode of doing what the laws say and a taking the literally (with interpretations)” and I love it.
"Imma put the seasonins back." A literal guffaw escaped from me. Scared the neighbors, I think.
By the by... As an Arizonan, the good cops here are pissed about it giving the bad cops more leeway.
I hope they're going to take that displeasure and do something to prove there are good cops, not just nice but complicit cops
The law is less restrictive than current Supreme Court precedent from back when that actually meant something. It's specifically to prevent 1st amendment auditors and other similar numpties from walking right up to ongoing investigations and getting in the officers gave while they're working
What? Both of the good cops are upset?
Congrats to Wisconsin for gator fatherhood!
We reject this. The state is too busy for gator fatherhood, as every week till September there is a different festival and or fair.
Damn, who knew Wisconsin was a deadbeat dad?
Nah, not a deadbeat dad. He just wants to have a REALLY late term abortion on that gator.
No please take the gator back as there is now another one
I had to watch this one twice to get all the jokes, it was like getting powerbombed into a table by comedy, 14/10 do recommend
That last part with the pregnant lady in the HOV lane gave me a chuckle. I don't know who she is but I love her energy. Slightly unrelated, but it makes me think about how all the baby daddies, current and future, that were all for Roe v. Wade being overturned would feel about having to pay child support for a zygote or embryo...or hell, even a fetus. They'd be so excited about "no more baby killing" until it worked to their detriment... :P How curious.
People that are anti-choice are just. Fascinating.
The amount of serotonin I get every time there is a notification from this channel is an amazing start to my day! :D
"what am I supposed to do with it?"
Meh, if it wasn't so smol I'd say "leave it - winter will take care of it for us" but even I can't be that heartless
When Ben uploads it’s a good day
Yeah I’ve been checking every day for the past 10 days to see if he’s uploaded but the answer was always no. Today is now a good day.
You never fail to entertain us, Ben. Keep up the amazing videos!
10 months later and this has 40 likes?! Jeez
“Oh nooo, somebody invaded his privacy!? How terrible” 😂
The irony, oh the irony!!! Lol
This is one of those few episodes where I absolutely love California. That "what the f***" and "oh no, you mean someone invaded his privacy? How terrible!" We're incredible
In case anyone is wondering, a pair of our Indianapolis zoo free flying mccaws decided to decided to take a little vacation for a few days. They are back safely at the zoo.
The guidstones thing is sad. That's something that took years and effort to produce and yet was destroyed because it was "satanic".
I agree with New York. People should mind their business, no matter what religion.
“These baby killing massholes must…”
“No Uterus, no opinion! Mind your own goddamn business, Land Mass!”
“I asked you to stop calling me that!”
“And that’s why I keep doing it, Land Mass!”
Can we get an episode or a segment for Washington calling out North Carolina for the new teacher salary and their “new raise”
Peak Texas is saying a fetus is a person until their mother drives in the carpool lane.
We have more than two, actually. Near Maryhill, Washington (center of the south border right next to the Columbia River gorge) is a cement replica of a completed Stonehenge circle that also serves as a World War I memorial.
"I obviously only count a fetus as a person when it's convenient for me!"
Damn, Ben, I think you just gave the GOP its new mantra! (That, or you just said the quiet part out loud...)
“We’ll take 10 steps back to make sure you can’t go one step forward!”-the GOP
“Conservatives want live babies so they can raise them to be dead soldiers!”

How do you make some random topic in today's word so funny lmao. I always enjoy your content and it always makes me smile. I wonder if you can do something about the new monkeypox going around. As a Floridian, we are getting many cases here.
I swear, I took one trip to the everglades and tried alligator and suddenly I'm everything Louisiana in this clip. Started off ready to fire up the grill, then sadly had to put it away
On the "Suck it, England!"-I fully thought another chair was going to show up, with another "character" named "United Kingdom" as a "sneak peek" of the "Countries table!"
As a Georgia-Texas-Florida hybrid, I approve of this . . . and most other of your . . . video(s).

You're never too drunk for Waffle House!
"down right waffle house behavior" is my new go to slang this summer
Not from GA but heard about the guide stones once they had been tampered with. I like that you elaborated on why someone probably messed with them
Alabama has a stonehenge too. It’s in the middle of nowhere next to some dinosaurs.
I only recently learned about the Georgia monuments from John Oliver ... and now they are blown up?! 🤔😆
I always watch your vids at least twice. There’s so much fast good content I wanna make sure I didn’t miss anything

I would say no one can use the Carpool lane if the driver is the only person in the vehicle that can drive
@@calebjones7868 Why?

When Louisiana comes to the table...😂🤣😂🤣🤣I'm dead every time🤣🤣🤣.
I have a feeling the states could have a huge argument about where "America's Stonehenge" is/was.
And indigenous people might have some comments on it.
"when it's convenient for me" yep def texas
Florida should know Macaws because of the Enchanted Tiki Room at Disney
Lol you didn’t have to bring vineyard and orchard into the Waffle House behavior lol. Those are the macaws that our zoo lost for a day. But to be fair they are allowed to fly freely those two just didn’t go back to their habitat for a night.
I miss the Waffle House from NC :( I live in Oregon now theirs a few okay places but we have more gluten free waffle places 😂
I'm wheezing after the response to Macaw 😂😂😂
Arizonan here, didn't know abt that law. Gonna go read up on it.
I need to learn more about this pregnant woman who was in the HOV lane... That's amazing and I love it
You should only be allowed to drive in the carpool lane while pregnant, if you have more than one baby! (Going on the idea the carpool lane is for more than 2 people.)
Only some carpool lanes required 3 or more passengers. Most carpool lanes only require 2 or more passengers.
Under Texas HOV lane laws only Motorcycles, mass transit, and vehicles with two or more occupant can use a HOV lane, an occupant is defined as any person who occupies a safety restraint device so as a pregnant women only occupies a single safety restraint device they count as a single occupant.
@@Alexander_C69 might need to check the wording on persons that occupy a safety restraint, my reading of what you show only states persons occupying a safety restraint, nothing about individually occupying the restraint. If a fetus is a person, then they are occupying the safety restraint via the mother. That will likely also be cleared up in the lawsuit along with how/when Texas defines person.
@@CPFitzgerald Any reasonable person (Even an Texas GOP Representative who supports the idea that an unborn child should be counted as a passenger does not believe that the Texas Transportation Code recognises a unborn child as a passenger.) would read that as meaning persons have to be sat in diffident seats, especially given that Texas law states that if an child is not required to be secured in a child passenger safety seat they have to be securing individually by a safety belt. On top of that Texas law makes children being in front seats illegal, and requires an child who is younger than eight years of age to be secured in a child passenger safety seat, making the idea that arguing that a fetus is an person is valid and sensible legal case against an HOV violation ticket even more laughable.
What, no fruit fly lockdown jokes. I live in pinellas county n our fruit cannot leave pinellas n whatever fruit we do have has to be double bagged n tossed in garbage. Of course we r the next county south of the snail lockdown county 😂 Welcome to Florida
Also a Stonehenge in Washington....I wonder how many there are total ? 🤣
The lady with the HOV lane is perfect! Like… yes! Yes, keep it up! When I have the freedom to go where I want when I want to, I’m 100% going to get involved in the protests!
This is both amazing and painful.
Also I saw the guidestones were damaged, never saw anything else, if that was part of it, that's awful (as well as like everything else... ouch)
@0:45 “meningitis” haha 😂 hugsfromNYC 🍎
“ now you got me thinking about what bathroom would have to use “ gotta love Texas and New York
The wall GA mentioned was instructions on how to rebuild after the apocalypse, in 8 languages
still surprised you haven't mentioned the lake meads crisis
In Kalamazoo, MI there was a gator found in a river by a college nature center. After 2 weeks of searching, they gave up and opened the river and nature center back up. Telling people to be cautious but they don't think they're going to find it.
Florida is always so spot on, hahaha
Ben! Talk about the NC politician who wants to tear out charging stations if they don't add free gas pumps as well!
I read about the pregnant lady and was hoping you'd do a bit on that you never disappoint!
In Oklahoma we have had over a hundred degree heat the last two weeks
OMG I was thoroughly-ing (because Southerners can make up words) enjoying this and then it got even better because you brought GEORGIA to the table!!! Georgia!!!! Yay!!! 🍑🍑🍑
Wait, someone blew up the Guidestones!! Oh that's hilarious and at the same time frightening
They literally believed it was "Satanic", because a guide in 10 languages for after an apocalyptic event happens is clearly "Satanic"
That just sounds like something some American would do.
