Hi, my name is Elie Moses and I am a 22 Year-Old Law and Film student here in Sydney, Australia. I have decided to watch the entire 'Buffy, the Vampire Slayer' TV SERIES for the FIRST TIME. Here is my reaction for Episode 7 of Season 5. BUFFY HAS MATURED SOO MUCH AND THIS EPISODE HIT IN THE FEELS!

Buffy the Vampire Slayer first time reaction
I like how Spike is physically changed by all the Slayers he faces. The Slayer in the Boxer rebellion gave him the scare above his eye, and the Slayer in New York gave him his jacket. They all change him a little bit to make him who he is today.
Spike being a sensitive poet as a human was totally unexpected given his character as a vampire. However, Spike is most sensitive vampire we've seen by far and that goes back to his life as a human, so it he makes complete sense. I don't know if Spike could have pulled the trigger or not - that extreme violence might have just caused his head to explode. After Spike is triggered by Buffy saying "You're beneath me", he was crying. Something is definitely happening with Spike, and it's just another great story line in this excellet season of Buffy.
The relationship between Spike and Buffy is absolutely bizarre.
My interpretation of the ending is that Buffy just had more and more on her shoulders this season, and had a death wish in that moment. Not that she was suicidal, just that she was over it for a small moment. Like Spike said, it just takes one small window of the slayer having that death wish... He really could have killed her right there and then but opted to comfort her instead.
One of the all-time great Buffy eps, made even better with the Angel crossover. Thanks for the great reactions!

Really liking the extra time you took at the end of this episode to give your thoughts. With this season especially, there is so much to discuss with the many slow burn storylines they have running in the background of each episode.
I had some issues when the writers kind of lost their idea of what to do with Spike towards the second half of season 4. James said so himself that he was supposed to be Cordelia's replacement as far as being the snarky character being critical of the group, but it just wasn't working. When season 5 came and we saw Spike was starting to have a crush on Buffy, I groaned in frustration. But I this was the masterpiece of an episode that got me on board and really laid the groundwork for the backstory of his character. James Marsters did a stellar job, having to play his character in so many different stages throughout the episode. That final scene with Sarah and James
Haven't seen many, if any, guess that William aka Spike bumped into Angelus, Drusilla, and Darla. So much for that surprise in
Callback to the chaos demon was a great touch.

I know I've already mentioned this in a previous comment, but I would love to see you react to Merlin if you've never watched it before. It's #2 on the list of my top 5 favorite shows of all time. And you probably already know this, but Anthony head (Giles) play in Merlin as King Uther. The characters of Giles and King Uther are so different, they're like night and day! Shows you how good of an actor Anthony Head is. I've been loving your Buffy reactions! 😊
just a quick correction, Darla sired Angel, Angel sired Drusilla.
Spike killing the first slayer is the scene In the show with the most blood. They only got away with it because of the red lighting Silly sensors
Why is it that some reactors always cut the part where Spike was about to get staked by the first Slayer he killed that's my favorite part bro I popped popcorn just for that part alone
Fool For Love is an exceptional episode this why IMHO S5 is by far the best season. The flashbacks are superb we can see where William/Spike is the way he is. He has been treated appallingly by women through the ages Cecily/Drusilla/Buffy. He was a gentle person as a human as opposed to Liam/Angel was an awful human. The scene in The Boxer Rebellion where Drusilla, Darla, Angel and Spike are walking away from the fire and Spike jumps in the air is one of the most iconic ever. This scene is exactly replicated in Angel episode called 'Darla' S2 E7 for those watching the watchlist of both shows in order. The fight on the train too with Spike in 70s where he steals the slayer's coat was brilliant. Buffy repeats Cecily's words 'you're beneath me' there is just so much foreshadowing in this episode it's amazing. A truly brilliant episode in S5 without doubt the best season, Fool For Love is definitely in top 10 episodes of whole series. This is one of the best episodes of the series so far, but there are two more in this Season that even better than this! S5 blows all the others away. Incredible writing!
This is my favorite episode of the entire series. There are other episodes that are "better", but this is my favorite.
