By the way, thanks for posting the “Don’t be disappointed if yours doesn’t look like this” part. Too many folks fall into the “But theirs looks perfect!” trap. Myself included. I really appreciated you adding that. ♥️ Keep up the good… er.. delicious work!
If you want to remove the beany smell from siy curls just boil them for 10 minutes in water with 4-5 tbsp of vinegar and let it sit for 1 -2 hours then drain them .. Squeeze them hard and marinade them I hope this helps
Holy hell, I made this for me and my partner last night and they said it was top tier, one of my best dishes ever! A bit on the spicy side, but damnnnn the flavour profile of those sauces combined with the soy steak. Unreal.
I just made this and I really enjoyed it. It’s super flavorful. It’s definitely up there with your Vegan Halal Guys recipe which is probably my favorite of any of your recipes I’ve tried. I’ll be making that for my hubby’s birthday lunch this weekend.
We were vegan about 13 yrs ago. I've been dying to switch back! But the old vegan recipes never filled up my hubby & son. They love meat, they do love all the taste in many vegan recipes though. I really think with recipes like this I can get them to stick to it! So excited to switch back !
I am not vegan (yet) but the discovery of your channel has made me much more interested in plant based meat substitutes and your fantastic recipes made me expand my love for cooking to these new horizons, thank you so much!
I have been really wanting to try out making things with soy curls since finding your channel. The problem is, I cant seem to find them. Thank you for another amazing video.
Can you please elaborate on the specific ready-made products that you use? Like this dark sauce, or the... Adobo something? I am pretty sure I will not be able to get these exact ingredients in Germany :/ so I would like at least to have an idea of what I should look for!
Swapped over to Vegetarian. I enjoy cheese and eggs too much to give them up. But your channel has been a great help for eating all my old favorite foods. My diet is less restrictive than yours, so I get to mess around with the ingredients more, but with put you I wouldn't have considered any of this.
This was amazing. Also BURGER DUDE!!!!! I have a challenge……… vegan capastrami from Capriottis. It’s a pastrami sandwich with Russian dressing cabbage etc, when I was pregnant I craved it so bad but couldn’t ever make it vegan
I love your content and ideas ! I also hate cooking for more than maybe an hour and i dont ever have more than half the ingredients you use in all your videos. Props dude youre a dedicated cook and it shows ! Ily
I was so happy I found your channel it makes me excited to learn how to cook. I was wondering if you can tell me cheap and quick easy vegan lunch and dinner recipes for college students on a budget? Tofu food is my best friends and also like to make some nutrient heavy foods. Also when using the tofu version is it just the tofu recipe and that’s it or do we have to follow the tofu recipe and then do the same thing you do with the soy curls?
I’m gonna ask a dumb question but it’s something I’ve always been unclear on: when you say “medium” or “high” heat, what temperature range does that translate to? I have the same grill, and it’s fantastic.
Why can't I cook the curls in the juice that they've marinated in, instead of squeezing them out and then adding more liquid when reducing? This looks amazing. I'm not vegan anymore, but... I've got to say, you are the KING of making tasty vegan food. When I was vegan 10 years ago, there was no one like you or even close. Also are you using a Tawa to cook the curls? Excellent work! And thank you.
Dude, the food you make looks delicious and probably tastes as delicious as it looks. Before finding your channel I thought vegans ate only raw plants 🤣, but now I see that veganism has evolved a lot and it makes me want to go vegan. I hate how some people misrepresent veganism such as That Vegan Teacher and the protestors. You are a prime example of what a true vegan is! You're amazing and inspiring, keep up the good work dude!
Hi Brian, I love your cooking videos. Even though I’m a non-vegan, I am fascinated by your ability to accurately replicate the taste of meat without any animal products. I look forward to seeing more vegan recreations of fast food items in your future videos.
Hello, I don't know if this question will be seen, but here goes. How would this work if I'm using tofu? I made your vegan gyro recipe using tofu, and I really enjoyed it, and I want to try this as well, with tofu. Would I marinate the tofu in the marinade and also bake it the same way, then cook on the stovetop? [I posted this question on your website as well, but thought to post it here, too, just in case]
This looks so good but I can’t get soy curls here in the uk,do you think it would be worth trying with soy chunks? Never tried them yet as they remind me of dog food lol ✨💕
okay, so that is entirely clever -- wrapping the quesadillas like that. I always struggle with everything spilling or oozing out, especially once cutting into triangles. No more.
I'm not vegan, but my diet is lacking in a lot of nutrients (most textures of grilled vegetables make me want to throw up I have no idea why) but this looks delicious! I'll probably chop up the peppers to very small chunks but I'll definitely be trying this
Just gotta say your response to those that feel the need to justify their part in cruelty and their complete and blinded indoctrination that we cannot survive without eating flesh is outstanding. Id guarantee that so many if not all of the mindless chest beating comments about animals are food are from those that have never been anywhere near a slaughter house, never felt the the strange feelings surrounding a place of that nature, never smelled the absolute atrocious smells from these places. These clowns throw their food out if it falls on the floor. And the plants and bee’s debate is so astoundingly unintelligent as though humans eat more plants than it takes to feed animals for slaughter. 2 mature steers eat around 1 ton of hay a month. Unsure of what kind of human could eat 1 ton of vegetables in a year. FFS the vast majority of man kind is such a waste of breathable oxygen it’s sad. Great channel great recipes.
😂 " Anti-vegan trolls" 😂 Anyway, I just discovered your channel...and LUVIN IT!! I'm new to vegetarian/vegan life and actually its been a easy transition. It's 11pm here in Chicago and I literally just made your recipe for "bacon" with rice paper,OMG!!! It tasted amazing, got some in container for my morning breakfast and ohhhh yea, I'll be making your Baconator BUT Vegan Burger for lunch. Now back to binge watching your tutorials. Peace & Blessings.
From what I understand, it's because the animal didn't give the milk, eggs, honey, etc.willingly. it doesn't make sense to me but that's what I've been told.
There remains an awful lot of suffering for chickens and cows in order for us to get dairy and eggs on the table. Cows are forcibly impregnated to induce lactation; calfs are in most circumstances removed from their mother on the day of their birth so that the milk can be retained for human consumption. These cows will go on to be butchered. The egg industry is, imo, more barbaric but has a relatively easy work around for those who like pets and eggs! Male chicks are either macerated at birth or gassed because they are useless to the industry; billions of chicks die this way. The remainder, even in "free-range" circumstances, are in cramped conditions & in many countries will only see outdoors for 1 h/day. The work around here, and vegans are divided on this, is to keep pet chickens (rescue them!) and retain their eggs if you feel so inclined. I'm not commenting this to make you go vegan, I'm not here to proselytise. You asked, so I've thrown an answer together whilst pooping.
@@FerventRebutter thank you but most of the time while the calfs are taken they are taken about 4 weeks after birth thats called weening it gets them to stop relying on ther mothers and are given feed that will help make them bigger for slaughter or to sell(im in the beef industry)
@George Rogers Well, no, most of the time the calves are moved within 2-3 hrs of taking the colostrum into single pens/hutches; this is very much the industry standard. They're then kept on milk, but actually primarily MR, before being weaned weeks later.
It technically contains enzymes from bee glandular secretions. Some vegans don't mind honey, others do. Either way, it's good to have alternatives available if someone happens to want them.
He stated in the video he makes vegan "hunny," which he has a video on, or you can use the honey sub of your choice such as date paste, maple syrup, or agave.
Bees make and store honey to use as both a food source and hive insulation in the wintertime. Bees make the honey and we steal it. Standard practices include feeding them sugar water, clipping the wings of the queen bee to deter the worker bees from leaving, and killing the hive when the weather gets colder to save money during the winter. Humans breed these animals to exploit them without regard for their best interests. Bees are sentient and are capable of feeling pain.
We just finished eating this and my husband said it's one of our top meals. Epic even

You have the Addis griddle? Medium heat would be like 325 - 375, high would be around 400. I don’t usually go over 400 with non stick 👍🏼
Medium is halfway between low and high, high is the opposite end of low
Definitely trying this I love soy curls ❤
Cannot wait to try this

I'm definitely going to try to make this myself it looks delicious I'm just hoping it comes out as good as yours bro by the way F the haters... 👍
What does “diced chipotles in adobo” mean?
Why do you need to squeeze the liquid out if you're going to cook then again in the same liquid?
You can just use water to rehydrate them, but either way you want to squeeze the liquid out as soy curls can have a funky aftertaste otherwise.

Still avoid! Because food manufacturers and food standards agencies assume you'll be cooking it, the threshold for food borne pathogens is higher.

Kitchen Bouquet or any browning sauce that’s vegan!

There are vegan versions that use things like peas or aquafaba instead of eggs.
