The zerg can produce units at an incredibly fast rate and if your army falls in one battle you can just build another one in seconds, way before your opponent can rebuilt hes own, as long as you got the resourses.
As a basic run down: The Protoss have few, expensive, powerful units with lots of special abilities. Protoss need to rely on conservative tactics: actively avoiding losses, relying on terrain etc. The Zerg use vast numbers of cheap, disposable units. Zerg need to rely on stealth and subterfuge. Try both, and Terran too. The differences between all three factions are too long to list. Until you try out each one yourself, you'll never know which one you're suited to.
I'm not saying it's hard,I'm saying it's hard to get everything down. You obviously have played Zerg longer than me it comes as second nature to you,ergo it's easier for you. I don't a Protoss has to really work to repostion their Stalkers,just blink them in the right place. You also mentioned some more things that make zerg hard,not getting greedy with drones late game. Zerg rewards skill more than the other races,however Zerg takes awhile to actually learn to play it. That's my take on it.
