- This is a short one, but I survived my first two days back at school! I know that I forgot to mention several highlights like the kids reactions to the room and even the FANTASTIC time we had with the Back to School Olympic Games! I will try and catch that information up in an upcoming vlog! So Sorry!
I am LOVING being a 4th grade teacher and I believe this is where I am meant to be! I miss my kinders dearly but I am able to incorporate so much into my teachings that it has been AMAZING!

Can you do a video about how you deal with difficult children and maybe your experiences with difficult children and or parents?
Man, thank you for sharing your first 2 days of school with us! I know how intensely busy and tiring those days are so the fact that you stopped for a few to "chat" with us is pretty cool. Cheers to a wonderful start of the school year!
You should reuse those Olympic rings as quidditch rings either in your room or for another game day! They could be cute on the closet doors or something :)
Yay for surviving your first two days! Every morning I get to school and I spend half an hour on my "miracle morning." Miracle mornings are things that get me inspired - and your videos are often playing while I do this. I love seeing your inspiration. I'm in my first year of teaching (I've managed to have 3 classes in this time!) I started a new class of new entrants (kindergarten) five weeks ago and your videos always get me excited! We are so lucky to have the jobs we have! :)
Wow as a senior in high school I really miss elementary school and the creativity and togetherness that came with it. It's really inspiring to watch your videos, it's like being back in time! Glad the first day was great!!!!!

I am not a teacher...I am a mom of four kiddos....they are currently in 2nd, 1st and then twins in Pre-kindergarten. They actually are all re doing the grades due to their own individual issues and challenges. So they are on the older side....they are 8,7,5 and 5. I admire all teachers and try to help as much as I can. I am thinking of trying to become a para-professional aid in our district once the kiddos are all in school full time. My kiddos are all have IEPs so managing everything can be overwhelming sometimes but so work it. I love your videos...I can get ideas I can implement here in our home. Thank you for all your hard work!

Ok... I am SO envious of teachers who get breaks during lunch, specials, and recess!!! OMG-I would feel like I had died and gone to heaven. Lol!!

So glad your first few days are in the bag and that all is well. I think it's so cool that you are about a half hour from me. I take papers home all the time and then drag them right back to school without being touched the next day! I'd be interested in learning more about things like your paper organization. TFS!
Hahaha! Teacher life! I did bring some things home but I am determined to get it done.
Questions!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did your kids like the seating? I'm sure some had traditional rooms last year and this is new to them. Also, do you not eat lunch in the staff lounge with other teachers? Being new to the building/district, it's a good way to get to know everyone. On the other hand, there is so much to get done and I know first-hand how nice it is to able to eat in your room and get work done sometimes. Congrats on having a great first couple of days!
My first year of teaching, my coach told me to never eat in the lounge as that is where the teachers gossip and you get sucked up into it. It scared me the first few years! Then I did it and found it it was mostly true. I used to eat with my team and that worked well - I just made sure to not gossip or participate in it, if it happened. Now that I am a specialist, we all have different schedules so I could go to the lounge but I'd much rather sit and enjoy the silence for a few moments. :-)
The dripping sink would drive me crazy....lol

We started on the 16th of August here in Finland, and so far so good. I have a new classroom setup so sometimes it's stressfull, but I manage 😊😊

My first day of fall semester was so long, I wish we could start material instead of going over syllabuses! 😝 But I got my observation badge so those start next week and I can't wait! 😁😁 Hope your first week went easy and you had fun!

What time does your school start? LOL I saw the part where you talked about unpacking when you come in, and I was like DANG GIRL there is light outside! I am at school at 6am, and we have kiddos in the building at 6:50!

I recommend a yeti cup it's keeps everything cold but u can find a cheap version @ Walmart and its works the same. ALL MY TEACHERS have it and THEY LOVE IT! you could also put ur intials on it that's what my has and I promise you that is keeps it extremely cold! even in the hot!!!! (this is just an idea ;))
to add on since you live in the south....(I live in Mississippi ) and the hot weather it keeps everything cold!

Do you use Erin condren along with the planner you created? I saw the cover a coworker of mine has when you were packing up. If so could you explain how the 2 coincide. I'm a first year teacher trying to figure out the planning aspect!

I know right! It is nice. Not too much different from my old school. I do get 20 extra minutes. When I taught kindergarten we had two specials that lasted 30 minutes each. Here, we only have one special so they give us lunch and that special. It's really nice.
+The Lettered Classroom that's awesome. The norm around here is just lunch and one special. And we have to stay after to school for a minimum of one hour a week for a meeting not including staff meetings. Not a whole lot of planning time. Oh well, I still love it!

My first day was actually the 10th, and it was my last first day of high school, senior year!!! I'm so close to being done with highschool.
I start Monday...Wish me luck!!!

I started Wednesday, too. It's been great, except for this heat! Today was near 90* and with no air conditioning in our classrooms, I spent my planning time in the faculty room where there was air!
