    You seem so calm during a stressful time. The beginning and the end of the year stresses me to no end! You have that "Don't sweat the small stuff." attitude. At least it appears that way. Thanks for sharing and being an inspiration!

      I definitely try to have that attitude...sometimes I lose it :) ... Thank you so much for watching!

    Another idea for the exercise balls: I saw a picture online where a teacher connected a pool noodle to make a circle and used it to hold the exercise ball. The Dollar Tree may still have pool noodles. 😊

    In many classrooms I have been in for subbing, the teachers have the medicine balls in laundry baskets. it helps stabilize the balls and keeps the kids from rolling around the whole classroom.

    Love the quote! I have a great Harry Potter Quote in my class for writing/ kindness.
    "Words are... our most inexhaustible source of magic, capable of both inflicting pain and remedying it."

  • @BeeZeeB
    @BeeZeeB 8 лет назад

    Use a pool noodle taped together on the ends as a base for the balls. That way they can roll around a bit, but it keeps them put!

    Love the tan board with the paper and blue burlap! Where do you buy your burlap? Do you use a staple gun for all your boards? Yeah!!! Thanks for the shout out!! Glad it helped ya out!!!

    • @BridgingLiteracy

      Yes! Stapled gun all of the bulletin boards. I had the Burlap from my wedding, I don't remember where I picked it up, but it is much better than you get from the hobby stores.

    What if you put some cute Harry Potter table cloths over the boring student desks? That way they'll be able to still work as pairs but it'll look a little better than just boring desks!
    I loooove your classroom, it's absolutely amazing!!!

    This might be a silly question but since you are doing flexible seating how does that work when it comes to testing? Like standardized testing? Are they "allowed" to sit in group settings like that? Just curious (: love your classroom btw!

  • @canicks1

    Honestly, I'm not a general ed classroom teacher, I am a music specialist, but knowing from what other teachers have said, is that certain students make work best on their own, or they have a space issue and need their own space and spot to be by themselves while you are teaching, etc. So I think that it is best if you keep those couple sets of desks :)

  • @Kimberlyle98

    I loosely duct taped plastic diving rings ($4 Target) to the bottoms of my exercise balls to stop them from rolling. Has worked OK. Sometimes you have to replace the tape.

    School starts September 7th and I am setting up my classroom. I actually bought the twin sized flat fabric and it was a hassle putting it on lol. However I managed to get the wall halfway done. I don't necessarily have a theme but lets see where it goes, also will definitely get the chalk board marker. Question, how did you manage to place the fabric unto the walls.

    • @BridgingLiteracy
      @BridgingLiteracy  8 лет назад

      I will have 48 students this year (2 rotations of 24) So I probably won't display much in class. I do have hallway space If I decide to go that route...but with 48 projects...well I don't know yet.
