I bring a small bag of groceries to store in staffroom fridge and dry goods in my classroom so I always have a backup for healthy options when I get the munchies or forget my lunch. Works great for me.
It's my first year teaching, but like Bridget I HATE packing my own lunch. So after 3 days of work and not eating I decided to go to the grocery and stock up one of my cabinets (that lock) with healthy options, granola bars, granola, applesauce, soup and instant Mac n Cheese. It truly was one of the best things I have done!
Been there with young children, the time passes so quickly, value every day with your little one, how I dealt with it, was I had a small plastic box with wheels and a handle, stored it under my desk, as I finished a class (I'm a secondary teacher) and I knew I had 'homework' for me, as I did a scoot of my desk it went into the plastic box and that allowed me to gather and go with my family at the end of the day, then once they were in bed, I was in the office at home completing my day's tasks. That's the best I can offer as a suggestion.
I love Notability, highly recommend for your kiddos! It's very interactive. I love being able to color things or highlight important things. It does take time to figure out but worth it in my opinion. Great video💕
Love the outfit! I vowed that this year I would leave school on time with only one late night per week. I was beginning to feel like I lived at school. Put the kids to work. Some of them love to clean and organize.
Our library has a container, its like a tower and has slots in it, and the tablets are put in there and they charge from one source, maybe request one of those. Seems a good idea.
Love watching your vlogs. I was a teacher for 2 years but once I had my baby I decided to stay home until he goes back to school. I miss teaching but for now I evjoy being home with the little one. I totaly had that issue as well with keeping class organized even though I made my kids clean up after themselves lol.. Keep up the great work.
I hate housekeeping days, plus it seems we have way too many of them. But the worst is when you have picture day, plus a pop in visit from the ELL teacher who wants to talk to you for 15 minutes in the middle of your math lesson, and ten phone calls from the office. I even told my principal that the secretary had to start taking messages as opposed to patching all those phone calls through to the classroom every day!
+Tina Bietler (My Teacher Life) I know right you mad laght so hard for example what happens to me everyday. The math teacher assistant walks ands talk 30 minuets about how dinner was with John and how cute he is and when im trying to do Daily 5.Then + the 15 phone from office that's there going on firday and our lockdown drill witch is in December when its Setember and then rest of them that your students need to meet someone in the art room after lunch when your trying to tell the students to do repeated subtracktion lesson. And then always have that fire drill during your read aloud
How are you adjusting to your new grade? You don't seem stressed about the change. They're moving me from first to fourth and I'm stressing! I need advice on what to do. Help!!
I'm not sure if it's normal. A lot of our vertical team does it in their rooms, which I like because I am able to get a lot of work done and add in some Vlog time. We see each other quite a bit each day and we have rotating daily meetings with other another member of our team, so there is no lack of social interaction or communication.

In the future would you consider doing another "day in the life of a teacher" I'm really interested on how your classroom runs now!
Yes. I will do one after Christmas :)

+Tina Bietler (My Teacher Life) I would die if I had to take phone calls from parents every day! It's inevitable. Housekeeping days are a must.
You're so right. It is never ending.

Loving your daily vlogs! Is it the norm to stay in your classroom for lunch?
