Yay, it's up! It's up!!
I love the stone wall!!!!
I have been checking RUclips non stop for this video!!!! :))))
I love the stone wall
OMG!! I did this to my classroom years ago! I did the whole Harry Potter theme with brick wall paper, a large faux fire place, and I turned the class into houses just like the books!, minus Slytherin, since none of the kids wanted to be in that house. Plus, I swear, I was talking to my friend Suzie several days ago that I wanted to redo the room in Harry Potter. I got so excited for the new book. She thought I was crazy because technically my room is already done being decorated and I am seriously thinking about ripping it all down and starting over with Harry Potter again.
You should absolutely use brick strips as the border!!! I am loving your HP theme!
I love what your doing with your classroom! Thanks so much for sharing!
I like it without anything... Like an accent wall!
I love how the stone wall looks only going part way down! Love your classroom!!
Brick strips for the border!
Brick strips would tie the theme all together. Go for it!
You will get it done! I will be working in my classroom all weekend!
Love the water bottle gift idea, super sweet welcoming present.❤️
I LOVE the brick wallpaper!!!!! So cute!
I think the brick border would look great! Be sure to make it a jagged random pattern instead of straight. I wish I was allowed to put up this much paper, because this looks WONDERFUL! You're students are very blessed to have you.
I think the brick trim is an awesome idea!
the brick border would tie it all together
The burlap would really make that wall look amazing 😊
I really like your videos, although I am not a teacher. You seem to be a wonderful teacher and the children can be really happy to have you!
Aww...Thank you so much!
Haha! I was thinking brick before you even mentioned it! Go with brick strips.
I love the brick! And the Rocket book!
I just got my room set up today. It's SUCH a big job, but every year it gets done!
I'm a new subscriber and I'm obsessed! As a Harry Potter fan, your theme is awesome sauce. Can't wait to see more vlogs.
Yay! Thank you so much!
Love the burlap!
The brick strips would be amazing!!
Just finished my first day of teaching ever!
What grade? This August 16 marks my first year of teaching
+Scottie Stimpson
7th/8th Grade Mathematics!
That is so exciting! Congrats!!!!
Good luck, Scottie!
Congrats, and I hope it will be memorable in a good way. Welcome to the teaching profession!
I think the blue wall looks great on its own! but if you wanted a border, the brick would be a nice way to tie it all together. If cutting the brick paper into strips would be very time consuming maybe even some colored thick ribbon that you can just run along so it's nice and straight! not sure really just throwing ideas out there haha :)
Those water bottle presents are so lovely :D
Yay! I've been stalking youtube waiting for your vlog! :) Thanks for sharing.
Same!!
Yay!! Thank you so much for watching!
I think you should have gold and silver stars overlapping for the navy blue wall and buy some of those electric candles sticks and tie them to fishing line and hang them from different lengths on your ceiling xx
Loving watching your classroom come together! It truly amazes me just how much stuff you have! I'm a student teacher so its all still very new and overwhelming to me :)
As for the border, I think a gold or silver trim would look super cool (and definitely fits the theme) But if you want to use something you already have then the brick could be cool too :)
It looks amazing!! You are doing a fantastic job!!
Definitely do the brick!
Use the brick to trim out the blue wall- can't wait to see the final product
I love these sort of videos! Keep up the awesome work!
Awesome teacher
OMGosh! This is my theme this year also!!💗💗Its looking great!
I love the Harry Potter wall!! We have super strict rules about how we can hang things at my school -- it makes it so hard to hang big things like that. It's a bummer. But yours looks awesome so far!
RC is amazing!!! I am RC 1 and RC2 trained. it's fabulous training if you ever get the chance.
love your room!
Do the strips of the stone paper! It will look good & be easier on ya. You could even do the burlap around the whiteboard? Either way, your room looks fab and I am getting antsy to get into my room to start decorating! Wished I was as clever as you and came up with all of these little details!
I think a soft silver trim on your navy wall would be nice
Oh my gosh! Doing the water bottle thing next year!
I love these vlogs especially because I'm studying to become a teacher so this is exciting :)
Thanks!!
I am super excited you're teaching grade 4 this year! I am teaching grade 5 this year, so I feel we can relate!
Good luck with your room, I cant wait to get into mine!
Thank you so much! Good luck to you as well!
you should definitely do the brick as a border
love your videos, I would hot glue the burlap to the trim that your didnt like, then trim off the excess with scissors; sounds easy, no clue if it is.
I'm a teacher too, but in the high schools
you should use some of the brick paper that you used on your back wall. that way it gives the same feel. love the room idea. Harry potter is the best. so many ideas you can do. I adore your videos.
your amazing!!!!
you inspire me to be a teacher
Hi the brick wall paper is a great idea and it looks beautiful, for the trim of the blue wall i would use the paper but cutting it on an irregular shape (like one brick down two up, and so one)
Sorry for any misspell, watching from Portugal :)
For border, brick would mirror the opposite wall and give in a more Hogwarts feel! Well done! I am wicked impressed at all you do. Wish we could do wallpaper, however fire code is so strict in our province:(
Hi...I'm a teacher from England! I love watching your videos they're so much fun...I'm moving into a new school and new classroom this year so I have lots to sort too...but I'm very much enjoying my summer break atm.
An idea for your front navy wall....you could get the blue, crimped, wavy border that you said clashed and just use the white on the reverse of it...it will be bright and fresh and should offset the white board you have there too! Just an idea?
Keep up the amazing vids. Vicky x
I loved your video, and I got so excited when you pulled out the book "Rocket Writes a Story". I just purchased a copy this week and I can't wait to use it for Writing with my First Graders this school year.
Also, I would add brick strips. :)
:) SUCH a good book!
I think a border with stars on it would be great on your navy wall it would add another level of accent to the room. Otherwise the brick would be nice.
white boarder will really make it pop
So the brick strips as a border!!!
Brick Strips or Just a black border would be nice. The burlap would be a very tedious process on that wall.
Can you go over that spin wheel on your white board?! It looks really cool
Yes! It is a great tool. I covered it in this video. - ruclips.net/video/_EgENjrrEq0/видео.html
I think the brick strips
What is the fire marshal situation where you are? I am so jealous. I am in Southern California and all fabrics has to be fire treated, we can only have one layer of paper, nothing on the walls can be closer than 18inches from the floor or ceiling and only 20% of our walls, 40% if you have sprinklers, can have something on them.
For your boarder why not use coloured ribbon in the Hogwarts house colours or in purple which is the Hogwarts colour. I think ribbon looks cleaner plus it will last longer than the paper boarders.
Will you be using the circled wheel that is on your whiteboard? Looks way cool!
Yes! I explain it in my Behavior management video. I did two of them but the wheel is in the thumbnail. It's a great tool!
burlap!!!
Could you find some border like the blue one you didn't like, only in a brown color? (the color of the burlap)
what if you used the strips around the white bord as a window frame or something :)
How about floating candles like in the dining hall on that navy wall?
I do like that idea!
LOVING your dainty little necklace... where did you get it??
Thanks so much! It's a Kendra Scott necklace...I'm not sure about a name.
Love your classroom! What material did you use for the dark color against your board. I would love to try it
I think I mention in this video, or the next one...I use Twin flat sheets from Walmart
+The Lettered Classroom thank you for the quick response. can't wait to try
Did you use the blue flat sheets on your front wall? I am surprised you were allowed to hang curtains. In my school in NY they would be considered a fire hazard along with the sheets. I love the look of the room so far. Water bottle is a nice idea!
Yes they are flat sheets. That's too bad, it really helps bring the room to life!
Do you know a good prek classroom blog?
You are hooooooooot🤗
Would like red Duct tape or something like that work? i feel like red would go good with the blue! Red And Yellow?
You should put hogwarts posters or even posters for your classroom on the blue wall
Currently in college working towards my ECE degree. How do employers react to you tattoo? I also have a tattoo and always wonder how that might go. I know times are changing, but I also know that there is still a wall in society of different views pertaining to tattoos as a whole. Thank you in advance! Love your vlogs. :)
Question! Were you anxious/nervous your first year teaching? I'm so excited but have been feeling anxiety lately, I think it's because my room is not complete and I have all these meetings and everything is coming at me at once! I wish this feeling would pass but do you have any advice to calm these nerves? Also, what is the curriculum for? Are they just a guide? I received the books and don't know where to begin. I teach in Texas and we follow the TEKS and I know to create engaging lessons but I'm confused as to what the curriculum is for and does it have to be used? Thanks in advance!!
I'm teaching kindergarten!
I was in the same boat last year! I teach in Texas as well. Teachers Pay Teachers and Pinterest have tons of lessons and resources already completed and ready to use! Just do some research. You'll do great! :)
+Lesley Singletary thanks Leslie. I am a fan of those sites! But did you have a curriculum? Like mine is "Journeys" for reading and writing I believe. Do I HAVE to follow this book?
The brick as a border would tie it in with the other wall..............
I think brick
once you start teaching, could you do a week of what you wear to work :)
I've been thinking about doing something 'My Style'...but I doubt it will be a week long version. This week of Vlogging has been a ton of extra work.
+The Lettered Classroom thank you:)
And if u have any other boards doing for the background why don't you get some newspaper and rub teabags on it to make it that old effect for the backdrop of. A board
Ahh I'm early (5th)!!
I've been waiting all day for this 😂😂
If you get the 10 thousand subscribers plack would you put it up in your classroom
A plaque would be fun, but I don't think there is one for 10k...I believe they start at 100k?!?!
You'd get more done if you didn't vlog, silly! But... I do enjoy them.
Oh my, we talk about that all the time...which wastes more time :)
+The Lettered Classroom lol! I think I'm just anxious to see the fruits of your labor.
How old is your younger son?
Blaine is just over 2 1/2!
+The Lettered Classroom How cute!
