I'm so glad I'm not the only one that finds relaxation and fun in decorating and prepping for next school year. It relieves so much stress in the start of that busy school year!

You're very lucky, our classrooms in my school in Scotland are half the size of yours. There's literally only room for the 30 tables n chairs for the kids

I never thought of finding those spots in my room before my first year. But after teaching I have found the students will find even the littlest hiding spots to be in your classroom. My boys will literally sit under the computer desks that I have because they don't have seats and will hide from getting work done.

My district gives us 2 days to work on classrooms. They're obviously on something. lol. I'm thinking of a Mermaid/Ocean theme of some sort. I have time, though. This school year isn't even finished for us yet. (Kids go until the 22nd and staff until the 23rd).

I had to pause the video when you said you can't wear jeans to your PD! That is crazy it's summer they are lucky you are going to PD let alone not to care about what you wear. At our summer PD we are all comfortable looking because we are sitting all day! Ok I'm going back to the video now rant is over:)

Besides morning meeting and large group--all kids together activities--what else is going to happen in the fantasy room? Is it going to sit empty while the kids are pushed into only two classrooms? Are you putting two classrooms' worth of kids in one classroom (and then the other classroom has one classroom's worth of kids)?

Hi Bridget, I know you live in PA. I wanted to tell you about Speedwell Forge Wolf Sanctuary in Lititz, PA. You can take a tour there with your family. It is wonderful. For several years I did a thematic study on Wolves and my class and I sponsored a wolf. You must check it out. Also in Bernville, PA there is Koizers Christmas Village. They open in November. We just took our daughter that we adopted from China last year in November and she loved it. You must go. Shady Maple is a great buffet in that area as well. Longwood Gardens is lovely to go and spend the day as well. There is also a huge apple festival in the Gettysburg area in October. I believe it is the first 2 weekends. I know you are new to the area so I thought I would pass on some info to you.. Enjoy your summer. I am going back to teaching after 1 and 1/2 years of child rearing leave with our 3 1/2 year old daughter from China. I am looking forward to teaching again but will miss being home with her :)

Bridget I have a question! I am about to begin my first year doing departmentalization. How do you do behavior management in the departmentalized classroom? I usually do a clip chart and money system but I'm not sure how that will work when I'll be seeing two groups of students everyday along with another teacher. Any advice would be great!! thanks

I love the classroom set up! I'm a music teacher and I love watching how general classroom teachers set their classrooms up! I also am just loving all of the positivity! It definitely helps me when I am feeling down about my job! I was just curious how are specials going to work for your school? Are the grade levels going to just leave for their PE, LMS, music? I just love this idea of a MAC classroom!!!!

Oh my goodness! Our phones are twins. When I was on crutches in February, one of my kiddos knocked down the crutch that my phone was in (it had a little pocket attachment thingee) and my phone shattered as well. I am just living with it until the new 8 comes out in the fall. I didn't want to pay the $100 to get the screen replaced. We even have the insurance on the phone.
I am LOVING your MAC classroom set-ups! Thank you for mentioning to always keep in mind little stinkers' hiding spots. We have to always be one step ahead of their little thoughts, don't we? LOL! Hey! I'm expected to graduate from my university next year and hopefully be a 1st year teacher 2018-2019. How early do they let you get in your class to decorate? How early do you start planning your lesson plans during summer break? What's the earliest I should be hired to be a teacher starting August? (May, June, July??)

YasminnLoves It depends on your district on how early they allow you to come into your classroom. Usually after they are done cleaning the carpet and walls. Also, some school districts might start hiring as early as February or March!

Hi! I discovered your channel about a year ago and LOVE it. Based on the inspiration I got from you, (thank you!), I applied and won a grant to transform my classroom to flexible seating this summer! I'm so excited, but I also have so many questions. I love your video about a day in the life of a teacher from when you taught kindergarten. Do you have one like it from this past school year by any chance? I would love to see flexible seating in action with older kids.

Very cool and big classroom! Great! We have very small classrooms in Ukraine((( That's sad. But I always try to make thematic classrooms and you inspire me. Frankly speaking, I sometimes borrow your ideas. This yuear I had Harry Potter theme too (it was a surprise for me that you had it too). It was very nice and I continue it the next year, but I am going to improve it. I just want to ask you about the organization. Do your students always work in groups (I don't mean control work)? How do they usually give answers (sitting or standing)? (Teachers in Ukraine almost always make students stand up every time and I don't actually get it)

Hi I think your videos are fantastic and appreciate everything you do. If other people are not happy with what you do then that is their problem and they should unsubscribe from you instead of moaning about various things. As a teacher and vlogger myself, if I could get people and companies to sponsor me I would appreciate them to advertise on my videos. Can't wait to see your finished rooms and your first week back at school. By the way I love those watches. I'm a bit of a watch freak as well as my husband. He has a wooden watch not sure if its the same make as the Jord, will have to look at the make. I will show my watch off in my next vlog next week (oozoo make). You could invest in a convex mirror to hang up near the hideaway spots your students might hide. That way you can still monitor what they're doing :P

you can call the teachers Mr. , Ms. , Mrs. , and then the letter of their last name
Ex. if my last name was Carter I would be called Mrs. C
