The profession has changed so much. Not what it used to be. Enjoy retirement.

Happy Sunday, Bridget! I enjoyed your video and the Teaching to the TOP podcast, which both spoke a little bit about wrapping up the school year, preparing for the next one, and looking forward to summer break. My school has five more days with students and two teacher work days, so I am getting really close! I think it's very exciting that you are also working with math next year. I think it can be fun to incorporate mentor texts and read alouds into math to help students make real world connections and work on both subjects at the same time. Thank you, as always, for sharing insights into your life and giving encouragement to teachers. Have a wonderful week ahead! Also, I'm sorry that poor Walter was having a rough day. He is too cute! 💜

Mandy! It’s so great to hear that you are also closing up for the year! One week with students 😱 it will certainly be Friday before you know it. I completely agree about math and literacy. There are so many connections to be made and I think they will help teachers see themselves as both reading and math teachers… we just need help seeing how they connect. I hope you have a wonderful summer and I’m looking forward to sharing more 😊

Congrats Bridget on having Math added to the fabulous PD that you deliver live and on your channel❤️❤️
I have read and practiced explicit instruction this year (37th in the classroom). I use HMH Into Reading and explicit in instruction really works❤❤❤❤

Thank you so much! It does! It's wild how there have been these evidence-based strategies and yet the connection between them and classroom practices has been small. It's great to hear that you are embracing changes and it is making a difference. Thank you for all you do. ❤

@@BridgingLiteracy sometimes these changes entice me to continue on. I love what I do. I wish the higher m-ups could understand what classroom teachers are going thru on a daily basis❤️

@@BridgingLiteracy - since you’re doing more math next year, consider reading Building The Thinking Classroom by Peter Liljedahl. It gave me a lot to consider and a different approach to teaching math. I’m not 100% on board, but it definitely stretched my thinking and gave me some things to consider/try.

Awesome! Thank you! I will keep it in mind. Currently I have two books that I need to read: Effective Math Interventions and Elementary and Middle School Mathematics Teaching Developmentally.

    Really?
There are countless teachers claiming to teach that which they do not know, and you are one of them.
How many parts of speech does a computer use to process all information? Plato told you, he called it dialectic. Your body tells you by the only parts of speech you can abstract.
How many grammar systems are possible by these parts of speech? You don't know.
Plato tried to figure it out, however the Bible puts it into metaphor.
Every grammar is composed of symbol sets and methods of recursively applying them to form the grammar.
How much is two times two?
What are the names of those categories of grammar?
