I had a cracked thread bore like that in an M200T I had. I installed a helicoil with thread locker to stop the progression. I suspect these things are installed with torque wrench at the factory and the thin magnesium cross section can't handle it.

I like it Richard. Happy to see you showing all of the issues as you tear it down. I really like where you told about the issues with the homemade bark box. I noticed something similar before it got that far on my 362 with a similar style exhaust. Changed over to the bark box and haven't looked back.

New saw and a lack of patience on my behalf. The tree service got one of the crew leaders a 400 for going above and beyond. I should have just ordered one from Gordy and put it on a couple of days later. She's all buttoned up now though.

Nice job Rich. Thanks for sharing.
The MS400 now has a new serial number! Lol
    Just something to remember.

Great save👍🏻 seen similar happen with plastic clamshell saws but this is the first I've seen it on a mag case saw.

Me too. It is a little skinny right there though. That's the price of lightweight modern saws.

Red Armor is great oil also.

On the clutch cover, how many ft lbs of measured torque should there be? If I know that then I’ll be able to replicate it (closely) when I tighten it. But if there’s not one that is published then I might STILL be up 💩 creek. 🤬

German spec is "guten tight" I believe. Just a little past snug is good in the real world tho.

Dropping it on the end of bar makes sense. That’s a pretty tough saw to have a hit that hard and keep going.
Do you know what gas they mixing with the Saber? I run Saber mixed with about 102 octane race gas mix. I think I’m at 28:1 now, it burns extremely clean, no smoke and great power.

@@richardflagg3084 I think that explains the top of the piston. I noticed a big difference going to higher octane.

Hi, I don't want to sound like an idiot, but I run the same oil and it's always blue? The initial shot of that crank area looks like green pond water? I never have carbon buildup running Sabre. But when I used pond water the piston looked like that does. Maybe its a difference in fuel? I'm not in the states. Thanks for a great video, good to see your subscribers slowly rising too!

The fuel that came out of it was a little on the green side. Sometimes gas has a light yellow tint to it and turns the mix a little less blue. Definitely not pond water tho 😎

Great Video. I only run Amsoil Saber 45:1 with 90 non-corn gas in all my 2 cycle equipment. Love the smell of it.🇺🇸🇺🇸🪓🌲🪵🌲🪓💚💚💚
