I wonder how many people consider safety of hybrids? 1st responders must identify that it's a hybrid and then they must disconnect the hybrid battery before invasive rescue efforts like the jaws of life. Also they're way more expensive to repair. Full electric saving the earth is a fraud much like the democrat party.

      Several reasons:
      1. It’s done purely for cost savings
      2. You wind up with a smaller digital screen.
      3. A smaller digital screen offers fewer options for different content that can be displayed. Look at the different information VW offers in the full digital display on the Tiguan

    • @gorskon
      @gorskon 11 месяцев назад +3

      @@roch145 My response is simple:
      1. Who cares, given that I like and prefer it?
      2. Who cares? There is already way too much digital screen on cars anyway, with the tech being what breaks down most frequently.
      3. Who cares? The car can already display more than enough information, much of it useless, to be very distracting.

I own exactly the same trim 2023 CR-V as on this video, got mine among the first one's back in December 2022, and I got to say, that current Honda built quality has disappointed me. Paint coating of the inside portions of the doors is so poor, that I got corrosion in 4 months old car! This is unacceptable! Went to my local dealership to claim the warranty repairs. While they were fixing it, I've been curious and went on their lot to check a few brand new CR-V's for the same area, and unfortunately, same poor coating and uneven gaps on the hood/fenders area, the lift gate and side panels as well!
And lastly, what the service department manager told me about those findings, shocked me! His words exactly " It's okay for the mass production vehicles"
Previously, I had spent hours on the phone with the American Honda call center about this issue trying to get someone in the quality control management, but unfortunately they've said that there is no such one, so that's probably why Honda manufacturing going down in the quality I guess? So sad experience. Beware, and check on those things at the time of purchase!

I test drove the Hybrid Sport last week. The exterior looks proportional and the interior looks elegant. What I have issues with are: 1. No spare tire. 2. No panoramic sunroof. 3. No power tailgate lift on the Sport. Have to go up to Sport L. 4. It's just really dark in there with the black seats and black ceiling. It might just be a personal preference, but it makes me feel closed in and depressed. (Try painting your living room walls and ceiling all black and you'll know what I'm talking about!)

I have to say, I actually find the "lack" of certain (IOW, Luxury) features refreshing. I like that the CRV isn't pretending to be a luxury car. And if it's luxury you want, Honda will gladly point you in the direction of your nearest Acura dealership.
I just feel like putting a lot of these features in these cars has spoiled people into expecting "mainstream" brand to sell luxury cars now. Like, I look at a loaded Kia Sportage that these reviewers seem want to compare the CR-V to and all I see is a Mercedes GLC knockoff made by a company who (granted, has come a long way) still has a reputation for being not as reliable in the long term as other brands.

I added a thin additional lumbar pad but it cancels out the nice heating on the back that I like so much and it is hard to keep it positioned nicely despite the elastic straps it has. I do dream of separate controls for the heating in the base of the seat and the back and it wish the heating went up higher on the back. I am not using it for warmth, as you probably can tell. What threw me off, having the model before this one (EU version), is: no voice control for either phone or navy - which is present in much cheaper cars - and the clumsiness of using either touchscreen or steering wheel controls while driving. Just try to type the name of a place, or scroll through a phonebook of 300 entries - while I can just speak an instruction for both to my android phone - and presto ! But no 360 camera is a huge disappointment. It really helps with parking in tight spot. Nissan Rogue has been having it since like 2016. And in general, Honda's parking camera is not that good to begin with.
And the pano roof is another big miss, but not as practically important as the 360 camera.
And another thing, not sure if CRV has it, but Civic doesn't have it. That is the ability to lock your car doors with the remote from outside the car while the engine is on. This is a huge hassle in practicality.

Over the last 31 years, I've owned and loved 2 Honda Accords and one Acura. Put more than half-a-million miles on them, and handed them down to relatives, who put tens of thousands of more miles and more years on them, then sold them! But as I've gotten older I need more help parking and handling a car. No 360 degree or front-facing parking camera was a deal-breaker for me. A second deal-breaker was the dark interior. I live in Florida and a black or dark interior is a terrible idea. During our nine months of summer, a dark interior only helps to heat up the car like an oven. And while heated seats and steering wheels may be a selling point in the northern parts of the US, in the deep south and southwest, they're irrelevant. What we need is features that keep our cars cool. And black, dark, or gray interiors are depressing as hell to boot.

Plug in adds additional battery capacity that would near impossible to charge without an additional power source. I'd LOVE to be able to buy any PHEV option but in U.S. most mfg only ship to ZEV states... and no dealer wants to sell to an out if state buyer without adding $10k FU markup (since they can).

No Plug-in Hybrid on this side of the world? Good! Put that on the BEST things list.
Seriously, why would I want the absolute worst features of both types of vehicles? If you own a house, install a charging station because they are *still* few and far between. So there's added cost with an EV. Plus, waiting around for it to charge up every night. But you get the advantage of literally never having to spend a penny at a gas station for fuel. That adds up over time. You end up saving money.
Live in an apartment building? Sorry, no EV for you. But, you can get a hybrid. No need to plug it in every night. So you get that advantage. Performance, not the best on average compared to a full EV. And, you will still need to use gas stations. But, you can save some money over time because you'll fuel up less compared to an old-fashioned car. Okay, can I interest you in a new vehicle in which you don't get either advantage? Still have to plug it in overnight AND still have to fuel up at gas stations. How does that sound? Sounds ridiculous? Yes, yes it does!
