    Jobs should not rely on customers giving tips to pay their employees. They need to pay better, PERIOD. Everyone can't afford to tip or tip more so that others can make an affordable wage. It is unfair to try to put this burden on people who are cash-strapped themselves. It's easy to say well you shouldn't XYZ if you can't tip but some elderly and disabled people need things like Instacart and they can't necessarily give someone a large tip. Kathy Hilton is a multimillionaire she can afford to tip more but the rest of us can't necessarily do so, if you can good count yourself as privileged.
    Edit: I TIP! because when in Rome do what the Romans do it is the way of the system right now but this is not a sustainable way for service workers to be paid. Their employers should pay them fairly so they do not rely on tips. It is not a customer's job to ensure that employer's workers are paid fairly.

      @@bleudiamondbleu I actually do tip because I can afford to do so. Also, I rarely sit in a restaurant to eat, I order and pick up and they still expect a tip. My point is companies should pay their employees enough so that they are not dependent on tips. What other industries in the United States do you know that gets tipped for simply doing their job. I've seen people in these comments talking about tipping grocery store workers, etc as if that is the solution to them being paid minimum wage. It is not the customer's job to ensure they are paid a fair wage. INCREASE WAGES.

    If your business plan doesn't include paying your workers a living wage, you don't have a good or successful business plan. The American tipping system is archaic and it's high time to get rid of it as a compulsory practice and the only true way that workers can pay their rent, bills etc.
    Not to mention the amount of anxiety it creates for the worker and the consumer. You're having to deal with someone's anxiety about making enough money on their shift while you eat. It makes for such an uncomfortable dining experience when you're constantly having someone come up to your table to check on you because if they don't, some people won't tip them in a stupid belief that they're not providing good service.

    • @curtisdrummerellerbe9544
      @curtisdrummerellerbe9544 2 года назад +1

      So true to the high expectations for customer service is outrageous people only think about themselves in restaurants. And like I said to someone earlier the restaurant business is not the only place to GIVes put on foot service and waiting on them hand and foot. Just this is the only one that do the tipping. I worked at department stores and I’ve waited on customers literally hand and foot asking them did they need anything taken close to the fitting rooms for them bringing them different sizes checking on you making sure they’re OK sizing them do you have people in the lingerie department size in their bras they can shorts fit checking on the lake controller OK sometimes having to walk outside bringing the packages to the car willing it to the car etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. and it’s a good thing We are getting compensated for it because we are providing service to and it would be a shame to we were treated like the restaurant business they probably wouldn’t be no workers in the retail business

      @curtisdrummerellerbe9544 2 года назад

      There’s a lot of people like retail and restaurant jobs but they just don’t pay your people assume that any type of sales retail or restaurants are beneath jobs little do they know when you do it for a living it’s very hard very stressful in my life be as hard as corporate America jobs but retail restaurants are very very hard especially if you’re a manager your Besty work in corporate America jobs because you were in the office doing the paperwork doing things that people do as if you’re working in a cubicle everything in this whole world has gone up food clothes housing market cars taxes everything is going higher but the pay I don’t care what job it is I don’t care if you’re working from fast food to corporate America minimum wage across the United States said should be at least 15 to 17 an hour and nowadays because they are taking so much taxes out 15 an hour once you take out taxes are only bringing home a little over 500 a week and that’s no money unless you working in a department store making 15 to 17 an hour doing a commission job You’ll make 17 an hour plus commission but then the commission jobs aren’t stable to because you’re basically getting in trouble if their returns and it goes against you and it’s not your fault that they decided three months later to return something and it goes against your commission return policy is fine if you don’t like something but they hold it against the cashiers and the sales people it’s if it’s our fault that we had it returned I’m both sides retail restaurants all customer service jobs and we are very very underpaid and I’m so sorry for the waitresses and waiters they have to do all that work and we only rely on customers to pay them not the actual business itself so there’s literally no customers you are literally making no money can you imagine working a 10 hour shift at a restaurant and all you made for the whole day was $2.13 an hour?

There is usually BBQ, beer, & poker involved. I agree the name "Dadchelor" isn't very tasteful but PAMPER PARTIES were always a blast & they could be co-ed (to include lady friends), for couples, or just a "guys gathering".

    I've been working in foodservice for almost a decade now. Very low pay, very little effort on part of management to help develop employees or even appreciate them and very little desire for companies to increase wages for loyal, good quality workers. This is why people are leaving: they pay essentially nothing, so there is nothing to lose. The customers are losing too, on quality service and an inhumane system. Throw a global pandemic and it's a recipe ( no pun intended) for disaster
    2020: Thank you essential workers you're our heroes!

    Where I live it's common to have a guy baby shower. They call it a pamper and beer party, the dad to be supplies the beer and the guys that come to the party bring diapers or baby wipes. My brother in law had one and he got a room full of diapers and baby wipes. It was very helpful for my sister and her husband because they didn't have to buy diapers and wipes for a good amount a time and helped them save some money.

    Women only baby showers, in my experience, are a thing of the past. Usually the expecting couple is celebrating together with family and friends so I don’t see a point in having gender specific separate parties… but I guess it makes sense if you’re coparenting in separate homes? 🤷🏻‍♀️

    Working in food service sucks sometimes. The pandemic only adds to that. Coming to work in snow/rain/crappy weather/being exposed to Covid (risking your life to make food for people) and people can't even tip you $1.00 $0.50 $0.25 or even a mere nickel! 😑 There's a lot of places hiring but when you have bills to pay and things to take care of sometimes you get stuck working where you can get the hours.

    Tipping is just a way of ensuring wages stay low. Pay people a fair and steady wage so they don't need to rely on charity from strangers who these days do not have the money to spare.

    If y'all go out to eat, please know that we risk our lives every day at work to serve YOU. So please present to restaurants respectfully and with compassion and grace. There are so many rude people out there who don't understand why they have to be turned away when restaurants are understaffed. So many servers and cooks are leaving the industry because of the lack of respect and poor pay. If servers catch covid, we can't work and we can't make a living. Please understand that 20% is compensatory tip. And if you can't afford to tip, you can't afford to dine out.

    The Pandemic caused a domino effect around the world. It's a bitter sweet situation. Because sadly some ppl lost their love ones. And jobs ect. But some ppl benefited from the Pandemic. Starting with a pay raise ect. However we still in this mess together. I learned to adapt to the situation. I stop complaining about the thing's I'm used to. I'm just going with the flow. Nothing last forever. Everything is temporary. God never said life is easy. The reason why the Holy Spirit, is stamped on our heart's. This is Faith! For situations, circumstances, difficulties and struggles.
