    I'm curious to know what benefit Paraguay is getting from offering perm residency and tax residency to people that are not required to invest, live or really spend any time at all in the country?

    • @miquel_girones
      @miquel_girones  Год назад +5

      I can interview someone in the government and ask them that.
      My guess is: there are a lot of people that move there and actually invest/live there. So they make the 10% in taxes from that, plus the development of the city/country by attracting foreign money (strong Germany, Argentina, Uruguay)

    Question: What exactly makes it so risky to stay in Paraguay when making say $30K/m profit? Especially when abroad and not bringing (all) that money in; how can they know? It's not in theri books. And if you'd still leave, where would you go at this point, around the timezone America? (so that excludes Dubai/Bulgaria)

    • @pardal902
      @pardal902 7 месяцев назад +1

      There is no Risk to Stay in Paraguay.... Please travel to there, its a normal country with big Banks. You can choose Itau Bank, its the biggest brazilian bank and very safe. There is to much liberty in Paraguay, you will not pay tax for foreign incomes. I think you need only be more worried with Hot Climate (insane in January and February) and mosquitos (Dengue) . I live in Parana State in Brazil, next to Paraguay and I can say, Paraguay has a big future.

    Me encantó Miquel!
    Estuve investigando un poco más..
    Depósito de garantía: Para solicitar la residencia permanente en Paraguay, se requiere hacer un depósito en un banco paraguayo como garantía. La cantidad requerida suele ser alrededor de 35 veces el salario mínimo mensual, que en 2021 era de aproximadamente 2.192.839 guaraníes (alrededor de 315 euros). Por lo tanto, el depósito requerido sería de alrededor de 11,000 euros. Este dinero se queda en tu cuenta y puedes disponer de él una vez que se aprueba la residencia.
    Es ésto es cierto?

    The most important question for me is; What is the definition of local source income?
    From what I'm reading here, I'm understanding that if you live in Paraguay while working, it is defined as having operations in Paraguay, which is subject to tax in Paraguay, regardless of where your customers are located and paying from.
    Artículo 48. Fuente.
    Estarán gravadas por este impuesto las rentas de fuente paraguaya previstas en el artículo anterior, provenientes de actividades desarrolladas en la República, de bienes situados o de derechos utilizados económicamente en la misma.
    Lawyer in Paraguay: "Yes if you are living in paraguay while you are doing a business abroad you should pay in paraguay .. truth is that there is no way paraguay find out that you are working online."
    Paraguay won't enforce taxes, so you say it is legal. But maybe (I'm not an expert), it is not legal, but just because you get away with it, you think it is.
    My conclusion so far (might be wrong) is: It's not 'legal' to work from Paraguay and not pay taxes, but there's just no way that they can know if you don't bring the money in, so therefore you can practically not pay taxes without any issue. However to call this legal, when performing activities while in Paraguay, is wrong.

      RENTAS DE FUENTE PARAGUAYA. If your sources are not Paraguayan you don't pay! You are thinking it's non dom, but you're wrong, it's just territorial tax

    • @Beerend
      @Beerend 9 месяцев назад

      Correct, the logical fallacy is in overlooking the fact that often times and in this case, being physically present there while performing the work also counts as local source income

    Hey Miguel! Question: i know Paraguay is territorial tax. I’m reading everywhere Paraguay actually has a 10% personal income tax rate, but, if you base your operations in Paraguay (working on your laptop and therefore making it paraguayan source income) how do you achive 0% and not 10%? Also, do you have to own or rent a property to maintain tax residency, or keep an address? I’m from Argentina so thats why I’m considering Paraguay as it is close and in theory pretty easy to obatin residency.
