We're Eric & Allison and we're on a journey to find the most interesting places and unique foods this planet has to offer! We've traded in our steady paychecks and permanent home for a life of travel and adventure. Come along and see the world with us!
I don't know what's more impressive... the amount of campers you guys go through, or the fact that you update the intro every time to reflect :P
Agreed!
IKR. Agreed. It seems like each video is a new camper and new intro.
What happened to the one they worked on? Any news on that?
@@vintagemoss9578 it broke down again :( the original mechanic has it now, and if it's a typical shop, it could take months to fix
I feel it’s not in your best interest to point out minor flaws that can be fixed under warranty
The company done you a great favor by what ever arrangement you made with them. Big ad, as they were entitled to for there effort. It really makes it seem as they owe you for taking and using their property. Entitlement runs deep in many parts of society. You just proved it once again !
I know you said it's cold, but it looks really cozy. A big shout out to that woman Eileen for offering a warm place to stay.👍😊🇮🇪🇺🇲
It was pretty cool that evening, I almost had to put on socks!!! I worried about you keeping warm, Maine is no joke, ya'll!!!
If you find cash on the ground at a restaurant, it’s safe to assume it was meant to be left as a tip for wait staff.
🤔
Exactly
Whoever does your intro animation has so much job security. 😅
🤣🤣 they're essentially on the payroll at this point
😂 seriously though!
Be careful kids. The old (pre 90s) Westfalias are very addictive. They hold a special magic all there own. I'm an old guy that has owned 3 of these vehicles a 71, 75, and 83. I would love to have another. I've witnessed many people forever changed after owning one of these campers... Enjoy.
I'm lowkey embarrassingly obsessed with how everything y'all rent/own is vintage! It's rare to see y'all with anything new or modern. It's funny cause I'm the exact opposite 💀😂
The Fiver should go to the waitstaff, probably blew off the table
I wouldn’t have even attempted it, I just would have headed to Eileen’s house 🤣
The great part is everyone thinking you guys have bad luck with campers but the reality is this is normal they break all the time like a boat. More you use the more issues. Love the content
For a second I thought you guys somehow swapped campervans with the Travel Beans again, getting their van in the UK! Lucy looks just like it, including that pop top! Btw...I'm feeling cold just watching you guys from the comfort of my warm living room! Eric - did anyone end up claiming that $5?
Oh boy, we definitely hope we can take their van out one day! This was a fun little excursion in the meantime though :) And nope - no one claimed it! 🤑
@@Theendlessadventure Come down to the FL Keys and take our 82 Cookie Monster blue Westy or our 1981 Cotton Candy pink Westy!
An '87 Westy!! Just like our old VW van Clifford :) they are soooo much fun!
Hey Nadine you should take one of our Westys down the Overseas Highway! @KeysWestys
Hey homies!! Ken and I Jen have a 1981 VW pop camper van! We are now restoring! Almost road ready🧡☮️
You guys make vanlife seem so easy, from changing vehicles to buying new stuff for each one everytime, it seems to gets expensive... But it doesn't seem to phase y'all either!!
Weren't they given the black series?
Write offs.
I have an ‘84 Westy that was so slow it couldn’t get out of its own way. I had a Subaru engine swapped out so now it’s as fast as a regular car and gets twice the mileage out of the 15 gallon tank. These vans are famous for being unreliable. I think they are fun to drive. I go to parks for three or four days a week that are just one day from home. Perfect for this old man.
I know how cold it can get in that van! We used to have a 1980 Westfailia and we traveled many, many miles for about 10 years (from 2000 to 2010), but mostly always in the summer! I loved the Westy and our travels were never without adventure, as VW's always need a little tweaking here and there to keep them on the road! So, enjoy your time with her and I hope that she is good to you!
And the newer VW campervans and RVs still have issues. No improvements. I decided against one after advice.
I've got a white 87 vw but with a fridge and stove. You can tell by the way your doors shut there's no insulation, they sound very tinny.
It's cold but great if you have enough blankets. Great fun to drive.
Campervan with a pop up, in Maine, during the cold (freezing) weather.......you two are are either the bravest people I have ever seen or the craziest. Hope to see your continued adventures and hoping that you did not get frostbite!
Definitely the latter 😝
Thanks for bringing us along!
You can get a diesel heater fitted to the van that'll keep you toasty. You can also get a roll of foil backed bubble insulation and make insulation panels for the windows and the pop top canvas.
We had an '89, standard 5-seater with the 2.1 liter gas engine. Loved that car!
WELCOME TO THE WORLD OF WESTIES!!! We had a vintage one that was a 1984. Ours had a full kitchen setup, fridge, two burner stove and a sink!! We always slept up top, although we NEVER traveled like the two brave souls that you are! I can say, when we get behind travelers now that are going SLOW on the highway, we no longer laugh...we relate! Enjoy!! And yes! They are known as a Westie! You've made me want to go back in time!
Us, too! Our only way to get back to our Vanagon days is the Winnebago Solis which we now own. Just like the Westie owners, waving to other Solis owners is a requirement. Haha!
How fun! It'd be so much fun sleeping up top with the screens open. And next time we'll for sure get one with a full kitchen...but that'll be awhile since we'll never rent one again unless the weather's warm 🥶 This was a memorable but very ridiculous experience 🤣
Love every twist and turn of your endless adventure....
PERFECT background music during the montage! Reminded me of the 80s so much I felt like downloading it. Then I realised it wasn’t actually a song! Anyway, awesome work, guys!
I'm the woman you met in the Flight Deck who said you should come stay with me!!! I hope you kept warm! See how lucky Maine is for you - finding money on the ground in a brewpub!!!
Thank you again, Eileen! 🥰 In retrospect, we probably should have taken you up on your offer...it got so cold. Lovely to meet you! One day we'll come back and redeem ourselves in trivia!
Drove to Alaska and back in our '90 Westy. Spent nearly 6 months travelling up and back with our 5 year old! Was an awesome time!
We are driving a Canada-Version of this in Germany. It is 32 years old and the dark blue brother of yours. Whenever you are in Germany again, come around and we can add some vanlife experience in the black forest area to your travel diary. By the way, originally the vanagon has a little spoilerlip in the front and that helps a lot against the wind sensitivity.
You kids are a blast, thank you !
We have a pop top VW in UK and have spent quite a number of nights with our bobble hats and no heating. We use a thermal wrap around the canvas to keep heat in. It's a true van life experience and hope you love it.
stay warm guys
Always so fun watching y’all go with the flow & change things up. Can’t wait though for y’all to be back in Clementine🤗
Same! We're hoping getting her back will be our Christmas present 🤞🤞
LOL it's crazy waiting for the next video from y'all! My dad had a VW camper van back in the 70's. I loved it, he traded it! We're still in Texas playing with new toys in our old RV, just posted a few new vids about new toys. Stay warm, we'll run into each other eventually!
I haven't been watching for too long; but your new theme "Guess what we're driving"!!
The last two videos have been incredibly funny you both are so entertaining. Thank you!💗
OMG! He actually looks like he trimmed his hair! Well done Sir!
#VANLIFE 🤣. There's never a dull moment for you guys! 🙂
I truly enjoy these guys! They are hilarious 😂. Safe van life!
VW Westphalia have a really nice Webasto heater built in.
I'm doing the exact same thing right now in the cold. But some good advice with that jackery 500 there is a little heater on Amazon and it lasted about 4 hours. I actually just upgraded on Black Friday and got the 2000 pro so that should last all night. Here is what it's called. I actually got the jackery because of you guys. And it's been great so far. 350W Space heater, Wall Outlet Electric Space Heater as Seen on TV with Adjustable Thermostat and Timer and Led Display, Compact for Office Dorm Room.... Love the channel.
Alison loves that truck.
whose idea was it to travel to Maine in November? Maine in June is lovely.
Just keep going! I love following you!
Best of luck with Lucy! You two are amazing. 😊
I'm just now watching this video. I'm so jealous that you are renting one of these! I'm so obsessed with the vw vanagon/bus/transporter!
It's so crazy to see you guys in my hometown!
Good in rough roads and snow lucky you Globetrotters.
You are shoplifers now, you are going to have vans in the shop in every state 😆
To sleep in a pop top you put your feet at the back and your head near the front so you don’t whack your heads on the roof
Well I hope you're not frozen and that your luck with vehicles improve in the future. Nice spot for some drinks and food good that you saw a fan and found $5. If that ever happens to me in a restaurant I always give it to the staff to pay it forward.
omg us mainers are so generous!!! can’t believe you found a fan! hope you loved the state of maine! i know how you feel abt wanting to go to bed at 6🤣🤣 hopefully we run into you guys next time!
It's all about fun.
Endless adventure… love you y’all 😍😍
We love the van!!! Omg! You’ve got us window shopping for Volkswagens now 😆 Safe travels, y’all! -Ben and Ang
Right?! We have zero need for a VW campervan, but we keep window shopping for them too 🤣 That's why we love outdoorsy - we get to rent all sorts of silly vehicles and pretend like its our for the weekend 🚐
So cute how excited you two got over the vintage van. It seemed like you were ready to endure any inconvenience just to bask in Lucy’s charm and smell. It seems like whoever is working on Clementine has had her for a long time. But, agree vintage suits you more than your modern black and white van. I was impressed with the newer van; but, if it’s going to break down - might as well go vintage. Plus, with Lucy you can make that quick getaway if the “knock” ever happens!
Your stamina and patience is impressive! I'm trying to use it to leverage my attitude. During the last week I have put up a portable garage that almost flew away in the Wind, sold it and replaced it with a heavy duty tarp that flew off last night. I'm headed to a big box store today to find another solution. I am almost at the end of my patience, but you guys keep me going!🙏💗
Oh no! Hopefully third time's the charm for you! We definitely feel your pain 👎
@@Theendlessadventure thank you so much! I am on Cover #3, aka Tarp #2. Let's see how this thing flies. No, I mean, LOL let's see how this thing goes! I'm making a video about it today or tomorrow. Appreciate you guys so much! 🙏 💘
My grandma always had an electric blanket too. My grandma was also afraid it would catch fire, so she never plugged it in. We just used it like a regular blanket.
Props to you guys for making every camper, trailer, and van seem cozy. I don't know how you do it 😂
Great vlog guys
Are you going for the record number of campers in the repair shop?
Welcome to Maine!! I have a westy here in Portland and it’s been so awesome. Holler if you need anything
I prefer a heated mattress pad to the blanket as the heat raises up and is trapped under the blankets. I would have considered the $5 as a dropped tip.
Never got notified for this video. Love Maine ♥️♥️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Succession is my favorite show!! Enjoy!!
I ❤ when y’all slum it up a bit!
I’ve slept in a van in the snow. Snuggling* together with an electric blanket should help. And layers of clothing help as well. My parents had a vw camper van. The only thing about camping in the cold is condensation. We’d wake up to wet sleeping bags cuz our breath would return to us as drips from the ceiling. Lol Thanks for sharing your winter adventure with us.
Oh ya, we noticed the condensation. Especially on the sleeping bag...it was just wet in the mornings 😅 Definitely not a fan of winter van life (without a proper heater) but it was a very memorable experience, at least!
Merry christmas u travelers🎉
Greetings from Ohio. My wife and i love the channel and the adventures. We also love to road trip when we can. We don’t have an rv though, or a pull behind camper, or a funky pop top van haha. We usually just hotel it or tent camp during the right seasons. We also enjoy checking out all the local breweries in the small towns we travel. Stay safe on the road!!
Hey, as long as you're out exploring, sleep in whatever you'd like! At least with hotels you're guaranteed heat/ac, showers and a warm bed 😅
I miss my Westie sooo much. The body fell apart long before the engine (293,000 miles when the body split) and a friend bought the engine and put a rebuild kit in it and put it in his Westie. He has 120k on it since then.
Be sure to tuck in the canvas around the sides when you lower the top.
U guys have fun body heat ,I once found a $50 blowing in the dump YES I picked it up and kept it
Welcome to club! I wouldn't trade my Vanagon Westy for anything...except for another one!
NEVER HEARD ABOUT HONEY ON A PIZZA 🍕 IM ITALIAN AND THATS A NO NO 😂😂😂😂😂
Really enjoyed your video
You think the heat is bad in a Vanagon, try a VW bus, with an air cooled engine! Heat was definitely an option. My dad had a 1971 VW bus. The family vehicle of my childhood!
Great memories!
Happy travels and be safe. Enjoy.
I just bought a 1973 westefelia automatic camper van . I'm planning on living in it hopefully ready for next summer.
i do like your VW Camper van. it is awesome. seems like you guys are having fun! keep it up.
I had a 87 VW fox station wagon in high school and I had forgotten that they made that song when you started them
I bought an XL heating pad for cold nights when camping.
Electric blankets are the secret to happy winter van life 😃
You two are such a fun, adventurous, cute couple. So fun to watch all your videos. Please don't drink yourselves to death, though. Stay safe, stay warm. 🤗🤗 Eileen what a wonderful person you are.
Guys.. cold air is good to sleep.. but warm under the blanket.. buy hot water bottles and boil water.. i always use those camping, in the car, at work, at home etc.
Fun vlog.. the new Westfalia campers are so different.. but also REALLY expensive.
Used to have a ‘82 westfalia with the stove and frig. Miss that thing.
We love you guys! Can't wait to see your next camper. lol
I love the fact that Eric has shaved! Who wouldn't want to see that handsome face?
Finally traveling in style
You spent months upon months building out that beautiful vintage Clementine. I am not able to keep up by watching every single video of yours so I may have missed it, but when will you be back to the rig you sunk so much of your hearts and souls into?
Clementine is in the shop getting fixed still! They will be back in her when she's done getting repaired. I believe that she needed another engine but I could be mistaken.
😅 reminds me of the travel Beans. Camper in the uk . 🙏🙏🙏 the electric blanket Kept you both cosy .
Hows Clementine doing ? Safe travels. Have a Good weekend 🥰
Haha OMG now VW vintage, also my son was a July 1987 baby. Brings memories rolling back to my own Europe VW Van tour days. 🔥 We used a Hot Water bottle for the feet on those cold frozen Scandinavian Wintery nights while cruising through Norway 🇳🇴 & Sweden🇸🇪 ! The VW has an interesting layout. Great Vlog!!
Oh that's a great idea! Definitely remembering the hot water bottle trick for future freezing stays 🙌🥶 We barely survived a few nights at the start of winter in Maine, I can't imagine what a Scandinavian winter van trip must have been like 😮
Hello friends always a pleasure keep them coming
E&A - Cool VW van. I used to drive a 1963 for years, nothing special, but great. You guys probably don't know too much about how to fix old engines like that, but one thing for sure, they are actually pretty easy to do, compared to modern motors and car functions. If you get in a pinch, I'll bet you can find youtube vids with plenty of help to offer.
I don't know about parts, but see what you can find. VW has always been pretty good at starting out antiquated, so parts are pretty easy to find, new or old, and I would imagine even back to '87 models, and probably before. Eric, yeah dude, shame it ain't a stick.
Swayed by the wind? I remember driving in snow storms, with the front wheels headed straight, but the body of the van maybe 20 degrees off, one way or another. Not a problem, as long as you know how sail a VW van. You'll learn.
T3 are great. Wish I had one.
Hello I had a new 1976 run good but heater is not good and becareful in the wind. But it was a lot of FUN.
That 5 bucks you found Eric was mine ! I was in Britain at the time, haven’t left Britain for years but I assure you it was mine 😂🤣😂 great video as always guys. Have fun and stay safe ! Best wishes from Britain 👍🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸
I feel the same way the lady did who stopped by your table. I’m worried about you freezing in that thing! I would do the same if I saw you out in our (completely opposite) side of the country.
There is probably a gfci ahead of that gfci in the circuit that’s tripped
That is a really cute van but we need heat. Love your adventures. Stay warm. Mary 💕Fred
Interestingly enough, I’ve had a schnauzer named Clementine, a black lab named Ruby and a tortoiseshell cat named Lucy!
cute little van!! coincidentally I lived as a child in Werl, Westphalia Germany.
Good video 📸 injoy watching it keep it up!!!
The endless adventure aka the endless repairs😂
Cool van, you should get a Buddy heater, runs on little bottles of propane. Make sure and crack a window. Have fun 😄
