We've been full time in our 33 year old RV since April. The plus sides: No mortgage to pay, we have the freedom to come and go when ever and where ever we like. I'm married to my best friend and we still like each other. The RV life may have actually saved my life because I was becoming a couch potato. I get to walk Pickles 2-3 times a day for a mile or two each time (I don't think I ever walked that much while I was in the Army) I'm retired so money comes in twice a month, no matter where we're at. DOWN SIDES... LOT RENTAL; even sitting at "home Base" we still live in the RV so we still need to get fresh water and dump out tanks, so we have to pay for that. Propane lasts anywhere from 2 weeks in the winter to 3 months in the spring/summer. Our "House" only gets 6 1/2 miles to the gallon. The toilet/ bathroom in ours is kinda small but the doors close and lock. I do most of my own repairs but pay for oil changes. You never own an RV... living full time in an RV.... IT OWNS YOU!

Couldn't have put it better! The RV definitely owns us. 😅 It's an amazing life of freedom, but all the little costs can quickly add up. Glad to hear y'all are having a blast with your pup on the road. We imagine Pickles is loving the walks as much as you are. ❤️ Hope winter treats you all well!

Go back to the old Endless Adventures. Please show us quaint B&Bs, country inns, wineries, luxury hotels, homestays, quirky art hotels, and the like. Much more interesting for your viewers IMHO, and likely cheaper for you guys. US RVs are made to travel to one or two locations every year and park. Most won’t stand up to 24/7/365 use. Do yourself a favor, and get rid of constant repairs, showers that take quarters, smells, outrageous campground charges, malfunctioning engines, head bumps, dodgy doors, and the tedium of hookups and emptying sewerage every day. You deserve to use toilets you can flush and forget!

  • @lisamcgrath3132

    Hi guys, a few thoughts:
    1. For the winter, go where it’s warmer.
    2. Stay at each place a week or two (you don’t get so much travel fatigue & have more time to explore)
    3. Try staying at State Parks or Core of Engineer Parks (both may not have sewer at your site so you get a Blue Tote. Sites are alot cheaper and beautiful)
    4. Maybe spend Christmas with family to rest & take a break.
    5. THEN go to warmer states and truly enjoy the winter months in the trailer.
Traveling fulltime, even for a few months at a time can be sooooo much🤗🤗

While it seems to me that you are having fun, you also seem to be in a hurry to do it all, see it all and have it done by yesterday. 50 States in 52 weeks is one week per state. Slow down and smell the coffee. I think when you have Clementine and Ruby back you will be far more relaxed and get back to the fun stuff. Think it's about time you get to some warmer weather so you can enjoy the beach and some warm weather hikes etc. Keep positive, you ARE living the RV LIFE just slow down and enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

We're very thankful to have the chance to take out this trailer and truck though...it's been a blast learning how to drive such a different rig, but most importantly, we're loving not having to constantly worry about it breaking down 🙃 Hopefully once they're done with Clementine, she'll be just as reliable as our truck! 🤞🤞

Now we prefer rental cars and hotels. Van life was fun . But it got old quickly.

Our original plan was to be full time rvers for 5 yrs but by Year 3, I wanted to stop. The cost of repairs and maintenance, the constant moving from one campground to another, the close quarters of many rv sites that made me feel like we had no privacy were the top 3 reasons we stopped. Sold the motorhome and are much happier. If we go on the road again, we’ll rent one for a weekend or a week.

So it would be just as cost effective to drive a SUV to hotels instead of RV. You cant find those awesome spots in a hotel but during the winter it might be cheaper to go from hotel to hotel and then day trips to site seeing locations for content. I was all set to buy an RV and did the finance of it and I can stay at nice hotels for the cost. That or just rent an RV for times where you can use it in NON winter times.

Welcome to life on the road. All the things you were talking about brought back memories when I think about now (A couple of decades later) fondly. At the time It felt like a never-ending struggle.
In a way, you have got it made. The two of you aren't trying to live together in a 67-inch by 102-inch windowless truck sleeper. No sleep, eating very unhealthy food while paying $10m a day or a shower and having to wait for an hour for your turn No sightseeing, just constant driving.
One thing about it you will look back one day with a smile on your face remembering all these times through rose-colored glasses. If you let it dealing with all these issues will make you a stronger person and give you experience handling things that will help you survive this crazy life for the remainder of your time here. Good luck, enjoy

I have a new nice fifth wheel. It is fun and exciting for vacations, but like any vacation, it is nice to get back home. I personally have to have a full size home as my permanent home while spending time in our camper.

Love you guys! Like so many others have said your journey with clementine and RV life is both a inspiration and comfort to us! We found y'all while we were looking into our trailer and were able to gain to confidence to commit through your experiences. FT life is not glamorous, and it can be very frustrating. Opening up about it validates all of our experiences so thank you, I much appreciate it. It's nice to know that you're not alone in your struggles, whatever they may be. I think seasons are going to play a big role in how content we are in our rigs, last winter was rough and this one almost seems worse off, but it's the best decision we could've made for ourselves at the time. I'm happy to have some place to call home

Glad to hear we're not the only ones struggling sometimes. Hopefully winter is too terribly brutal for you all this year. It'll be our first full-time winter and we're pretty nervous about it too...the cold's barely begun but it's been pretty rough already. Definitely not looking forward to many more months of it. 😅 But like you, we love having a home, so we're trying to see it all as an exciting learning and growing experience :)

I admit that I've wondered why you rush through each state. You aren't just on vacation with a desk waiting for you somewhere. You're racing through this 50-state tour instead of enjoying the journey. Head south and stay awhile and maybe the slower pace also will appeal to you?

We live in Central MA! Looking forward to seeing where you're headed, and hope you have a great visit!
On travel woes: Staying longer in one place if possible can really help a lot with "moving day irritation", and the cool thing is, you can decide how long is long enough by experimenting with it. Maybe try 3-4 days in one place to see how doing so makes moving day feel. If moving day feels better than it does after 1 day's stay, 3-4 days might be your "current style" ... if moving day still feels cumbersome after 3-4 days, the informational value is the same: adapt by staying 5-6 days if possible, and assessing the feel of moving day again.... rinse and repeat until it feels good. lol

I suggest getting a Blue Boy (I think it's called - a portable waste tank), as this will make your stay much easier and more enjoyable. That way, if you realise that your black tank's full after you hook up, like you did, you can just pull out the Blue Boy, connect it to your valves, empty your tanks and then transport your Blue Boy to the nearest dump station without needing too hook up and move your RV. Just store it in the bed of your Ute (truck). Remember to get one big enough to hold the entire contents of your grey and black tanks so that you're not going back and forth.

Just let me start with....I love you guys. I have A 40' Bluebird and I am also a truck driver so me and all truck drivers deal with your "issues" on a daily basis but without the fun stuff, it's like a Rock Star complaining about how bad touring is but while living the life as a star doing concerts for two hours and partying having a blast and doing what you love. But we are in 80+ ft long trucks that can't just park anywhere we want. no campsites, side street, or now days ALOT of Walmart's will not allow us to park just so we can try to get some rest and we are limited to the hours not miles we drive daily so it's almost impossible to know where we will have to stop on a daily basis since we can't predict traffic, weather, construction delays etc.. ,and no showers (showers cost around $15.00), bathroom and kitchens or RV comforts in the trucks so we are limited to the limited available trucks stops to eat and shower. Just saying when I drive my Bus I actually feel almost free in comparison. Again you guys are great and ALOT of fun but you really do have it made, you just don't realize it.

We can only imagine how difficult the trucker lifestyle must be... We've definitely noticed the lack of free overnight parking. Especially now that it's getting into winter, so many rest areas have been closed for the season :/ And we almost always forego showers at rest stops to avoid the shower fees, too - they're so pricey! But like you mention, we can always just find an RV park to stay at and have all our amenities included :/

We've been RV living for 3 years and absolutely love it! There are many challenges but so many more rewards. Last week our truck and trailer were destroyed (we survived). Not discouraged though. Starting over. Getting ready to replace everything. I've been watching you guys since the beginning. I love your content no matter what you're doing. Love ya! See ya on the road

Oh my goodness, Shannon! We're completely gutted to hear that! So so happy the vehicles were the only things destroyed, but we can't even imagine how terrifying that must have been. 😔 We hope the rebuilding process goes smoothly and quickly. Our hearts and hugs go out to you ❤️

Hey one trick that helped me was how to fold clothes super small to save up more space. This helped a lot. Also have y’all thought about boon-docking more? I think ur rv could go for atleast a day or two doing that which would save ya some $$

I don't understand why you can't 'slow travel' for a while in your RV? Whose timeline are you competing with? I'm also genuinely curious about the roots of your 'vagabond life' restlessness? It fascinates me as a person who loves freedom and travel but needs a base and community too. Plus it can be exhausting lol! Can't wait to hear more about your future plans. A wonderful and unique couple to watch. Love your vids, your enthusiasm and creativity. Cheers from Canada! xoxo

We started with van and trailer. It just got to be too much. Too much packing, leveling and set up. We got lucky and finally obtained a Class A. So much easier to just pick up and go. We use Nano tape and velcro for things on countertops so there’s not much to pack.
