    A tip I learned with electric blankets, lay on top of it instead of using it as a blanket.
    The heat under you will rise (heat always rises) and then reflect off of your normal blanket and then back onto to you. It helps keep a more stable radiant heat environment while you sleep, and also some mattress's can suck the heat from your body, and this prevents that from happening 👍

    • @lisapark2909
      @lisapark2909 Год назад +8

      Yes!!! That's hysterical that you even have to mention that 🤣 pretty much the rest of world who have had electrical blankets for ages (from the 80's) know that's how to use them. I didn't even think they would use them on top as a normal blanket 🤷‍♀️🤯

      Biddeford electric blankets with the silver controller automatically shut off after 10 hours. They come in full, queen and king sizes. The king size uses two controllers, one for each side. Biddeford also makes heated mattress pads that use the same silver controllers.

    "You want some cheese to go with that whine" LOL. That's just the way it is on the East Coast in the winter-time. You'll have to wake up earlier. Did you check the fuses? for the no turn signals? The speedometer cable end probably popped out of the gauge cluster is my guess. ( I grew up in Connecticut, so that's why I know how cold it can get in the winter time). It's pronounced Bahh Haboahh LOL

    We have a share in a syndicate owned boat located on the Norfolk Broads in England. It’s a bit like a camper van, only on water. During our winter weeks we bring with us electric under blankets and a low wattage electric heater.
    Your experience reminded me of the time my (now) husband and I did our first camp at the foot of Mount Snowdon (Wales) in March. We had bought our first tent and were excited to go camping in it. There was still snow on top of Snowdon and it was COLD. Like you we had woolly hats and layers of clothing in our sleeping bags but we were so cold we couldn’t sleep.
    By the way, the lack of daylight in Maine sounds like Britain in winter.

    • @Theendlessadventure

      Oh goodness! We almost got stuck on Snowdon a few years ago - we started hiking too late and missed all the buses/taxis at the bottom. My nose always gets cold. one of the good thing about Covid was I learned that cotton double layer masks to keep the nose warm. Suggest you get a heated mattress pad. They are safe to lay on and will not shut off. Heated blankets are not supposed to have anything on top of them.

    We have lived in Maine and loved it, the people and everything. Had to laugh about the sun going down about 3:30-4 in the afternoon. 5/6 hours of daylight in the winter is tough but we loved our time there.
