    • @beksta8518
      @beksta8518 8 месяцев назад

      Maybe because of the translation... people freak out that birds don't make milk lol. My grandmother used to make it for us when we were children... delicious. Simply made by beating egg whites to stiff peaks, simmering spoonfuls in milk to set/cook and setting aside. Then using the warm milk and egg yolks, to make a thin custard from scratch. Place the soft meringue clouds back on top of the custard, can be gently mixed through or left on top when served.
      In English, it's known as floating islands.

    As in other cities, if you eat in tourist places, you will not get very good food, but it will be expensive. if you are in Budapest, it is best to look for a well-rated restaurant in one of the outer districts and you can eat really good food there. There is "Vakvarjú Újlipót", not too far from the city center, and I think it is one of the best restaurants where you can find quality Hungarian and Western cuisine and a high level of service.

    12:20 My favourite is the 'halászlé' (=Fisherman's soup), which is a gulyás like soup but with fish and not beef/pork/lamb meat. And using different species of fishes give much better tastes than those made from one kind of fish. ;) The other ones are the 'gombapörkölt' (mushroom stew) and the 'tokány' (transylvanian pörkölt), which are less and less populars in restaurants' menu since the last 10-15 years, but both of them (and all of their variants) are very worth trying. ;)

    man, there is one hungarian dish what beats everything in the world, and it is not on this list. it is called dödölle, it is a staple in some western hungarial counties. it is basically potato dumplings browned in pork fat and then baked in the oven with caramellized onion, sour cream and with bacon on the top.
    and please don't put anything on the lángos but salt and garlic (some might say sour cream and cheese is acceptable but in my opinion it ruins the "lángos experience")

    • @tamaslukacs3173
      @tamaslukacs3173 Год назад

      Szerintem a lángos hagyományos feltétjei inkább a helyi szokásokon alapulnak, kár rajta összeveszni.Részemről a sót mellőzöm, a a fokhagyma tejföl sajt triumvirátusa legyőzi az összes változatot. Viszont a turista verzióktól feláll a szőr a hátamon.

    The correct pronunciation for that chocolate bun is chee-ga (snail) and langos is pronounced lang-osh. Cs is always pronounced as ch and sz is pronounced as sssss (like a snake). Goulash is said exactly as it's spelled (goo-lahsh) I just started your vlog, so I will stop here. OH, paprika is said as Pop-ree-kah with accent on the first syllable. :)
